"Who and What" Discussion *SPOILERS

I like it overall.

I really like the fact that Griss is cold with Jack in the begining. He was never a fan of FBI (strip strangler and agent Culpepper)but get to know Jack and became ok to work with him.

I also really like the scene when Jack ask Griss if he ever told parents of kidnapped childs that it was just random... remember Tammy Felton first apprearance? That was exactly the case and sure, it didn't go very well back then. (Face lift).

And the part when they start to run to the train and Jack get stuck with the motorcycle (to what... play cowboy at the scene... showing Grissom he's in good shape, whatever) and Griss just go between the wagon and wait for jack with a smirk. great!!!
 
Whats with all the WAT dislike? It's a great show.

I'm a huge fan of it. Anyway I really liked the two episodes. Jack Malone is one bad@$$. I guess that comes from me liking the show. Jack and Grissom have different styles ... they really wanted to illustrate that in the episodes.

Jack had to go to Vegas because it was a possible link to a case he worked on. He had a lot because of the FBI stuff. This was all setup in the CSI episode. Then in the end, Grissom went there to make sure everythign was okay with his stuff. It's not like he had much to do there.
 
gryphin, Okay I was confused at first to much storyline (though I found both shows good when I understood what was going on) with too many kids involved it made it a bit difficult to follow but I think that was the point, were learning what they are learning when they learn it. Basically I think what the show was doing is trying to connect the dots, starting in the past, didn't work, so they had to start from the present (Evan death), then to the future of sorts (Kobe abduction), into the past (Jason). Instead of a straight line they put in alot of curves and twists, I think to keep the audience on their seats, who will they find next, how will it turn out? etc. So in saying that here is what I got from watching it and I hope it makes a bit of sense.

Gina and Terry had a baby they were happy for awhile but had problems, they broke up and from what I understand Gina moved while I think Terry might have been in jail or on the railway.
So he decides to go looking for his son, and at that time he comes across four year old Jason, who resembled possibly his son, he kills the babysitter and then abducts Jason, only to find out that, that isn't his son, it could be he learned it on a radio broadcast about an abducted child of [name of parents], realizing what he did, he kills Jason, and moves on looking for his son.
Again the six year difference could be do to the railways and searching maybe jail time for something, then he comes across Evan Michaels again with a babysitter thinking this is my son breaks in to find out its not, kills both Even and the babysitter.
Then he fineally finds Gina who then takes him to his son after much arguing and probably force, there at the school he meets Kobe.
Terry then kills Gina and abducts Kobe. Terry as we seen in the WOAT cross wasn't all that stable as he told the story (then brushed it off as a joke) about killing his brother, a little boy that did infact die back around the time Terry was a child.

If you look at Evan and Kobe there is a resemblance which I think the show did a great job on two different actors that look like they could be related. Even the four yr old Jason resembled a younger version of them. Then add in the fact that the jewerly that Terry gave his sister came off three dead women suggests alot of his time was spent searching for his son.

So as far as we know Terry killed about 13 people, all in the process of looking for his son and then in the end kills himself. (2 babysitters 3 women [the jewels came from], Gina, the cop, the older couple, two kids [Jason & Evan], the resident in the apartment. And the possiblity that he killed his brother when they were kids. It would be 14 if you figure him killing himself in the end.
 
Even though I missed WAT-I enjoyed "Who" very much. LaPaglia was his dark, brooding self and I thought WP played off him very nicely... Ecklie better be nice to Grissom-he fit right in. As for the sad moments outside the victim's house..Grissom can't help but see Sara is in trouble emotionally.
Question-there's a great FF.net story based on a spoiler from WAT-can someone verify that Grissom makes sure someone checks on Sara or calls her himself while he's in NY?
Unfortunately 4:45 comes awfully early for my sister and our TV goes off at 10pm....sigh. Thanks!
 
Good episodes overall, but I had to watch them twice to understand better. Not the best, and aside from the first 15 minutes, Greg and Warrick seemed to disappear.

Plot was a little hard to follow, too much to show & not enough airtime.

Random thought, why would Gil and Sara name the dog after a guy that cheated on Sara years ago? I found that a little odd.

Happier random comment, I'm going to CSI the Experiance tomarrow. YAY, me. :D
 
And now I know that I am not the biggest fan of WaT.

I usually like watching that show, but it seems like by the time CSI was over, WaT sort of got the shorter end of the stick. CSI got the better half of the episode.

I liked Grissom jumping on the train, and the part where he beats Jack to the other side. Lol.

I totally agree. CSI was definitely the better half, and I was disappointed with the WaT writers because I think they kind of passed up on an opportunity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the goals of a crossover is to get more people from the one show to watch the other. From what I've read here, people that don't watch WaT did not get it at all, and if I didn't already watch it, I wouldn't have been interested either. A crossover is an opportunity to drop little things about the characters and the team dynamic, something that makes the foreign viewers want to know more. I'm afraid I didn't see any of that here.

Thanks Destiny for the explanation. I was so confused during the episodes, there was too many kids, and of course it didn't help that they all looked alike (but I realize that was WHY he killed Evan and Jason). I feel like the writers bit off more than they could chew with these eps. The storyline was too complex, it didn't really fit in two hours, it needed more time to be fully understood. They overthought it, IMO.

And was it just me or were the three women that Sam showed pictures of to the sister not introduced until that point? Kind of random...

To sum up, I had high expectations for this crossover, and it didn't live up to them. The one positive thing I can say is the Sara storyline wasn't stalled by it. They kept it up and aren't just going to jump from that conversation with Greg to her leaving next week. And although they started off rocky, I did start to see a little bit of chemistry between Grissom and Jack towards the end, but again, didn't live up to expectations.
 
I'm glad it wasn't just me who noticed that Gil's been really like ... I don't know, grumpy or something towards the rest of the team lately, save for Sara, of course. And that bugs me.

I also miss getting those scenes where the CSIs are processing something. You get the cool music in the background... You know, like CSI used to be? I dunno... :/
 
What struck me was that the CSI writers seemed to have Jack fairly seemlessly interact with all the CSI. He was in and around them all and didn't seem out of place. The story needed him there.

The WAT writers seemed to have trouble with Grissom around Jack's team. It was like they were looking for ways to have Grissom interact with Jack's team even if it didn't seem to fit the story at that point. I was left wondering why they even bothered to have Grissom on WAT. They didn't really need him there.

I loved the banter between Gris and Jack in this ep. Jack was a good edition, especially when he told Hodges that there were enough suck ups in the FBI. I don't think Hodges could have run back to the lab any faster!

I loved how bored Greg was when Grissom walked in and found him sitting there. He did a good job but suddenly dissapeared into thin air after they made it back tot he lab. Perhaps Jack should investigate that as well, where half the cast goes inbetween crime scene and lab tasks.

Another thing I was excited about was how the writers had this feel like the first eps where it was all about solving the crime and the twists and turns that each path takes.

I was glad they found the kid and he was ok. Too bad th guy thought the only way out was to kill himself, he might have been able to get help once in custady.

The WAT part was ok...CSI had the better script in my opnion. Jack flowed in Vegas where Gris was a bit bumpy in NY. Perhaps that shows the difference and inportance that the writers bring.

I give this ep a 9/10. Bring back more twist and turn cases!

Haha, yeah. Although if I'm being honest I think it's just because the cast is too big, but this may be a little OT, so I'll shut up now.
 
^ too many great actors and not enough time. :p

I'm definatly off topic, but I hope they don't add another CSI to the team after Sara leaves. I would rather see the rest of the team get a fair amount of screen time like in earlier seasons.

I have nothing against Ronnie, but the show doesn't need her.
 
SPECTATULAR I was blown away, this will probably be one of my all tme favorite CSI's and 'WOAT" my two favorites show, these two actors were so amazing and are , probably the greatest actors in a crime show drama on TV!! to me they overshadowed the rest of the cast members, and the 'WOAT' cast came across as a bit better in this two hr. special.. WP and ALP, sensational their rapport unbeatable, their chemistry astounding, the so different men, and their so different styles, but the respect they showed for on another BRILLIANT ;) From the onset, whith Jack flyng in on the helicopter, and Brass welcoming him it was surreal.. I was hooked. Warrrick and Jack chasing the possible suspect through the Casino.. riveting :eek: and I love Jack's low mellow voice, very appealing. Loved the kiss-ass Hodges again doing his disgusting pushy personality .. Jack "we;ve go enough ass kissers" :lol:he sure had him pegged.. The two men in pursue of this freak show murderer. and the cute lab scene with Gris, Jack and Sara.. "dating in the workplace, how'd that work out for ya'? Jack, "Undetermined" The cop getting shot.. shocking. And I always enjoy the fake casinos names the Tangiers and South Point :D the train sequence.. engrossing and paced so well, they run really fast for two older guys :eek: "miss the lab"? "No I like a good field trip" the banter between them awesome and enjoyable. and the "what's wrong with my office" Oh, I don't know, you tell me"? and the *girl* that came over to the creeps house, andf Grissom said "a call girl..a lady of the night..a hooker" Jack goes "we just call them "ho's" :D The little boy actor, great and will he have nitemares the rest of his life? :( the ending with the two of them Jack "Do you think of hanging it up"? Grissom "Everyday" well at least you have your pig" "yes I do".. the great dialogue was paramount, and so dynamic in this special and kudos to Danny Cannon.. good job! this crossover to me was complete PERFECTION A+

I hate to burst your bubble, but he actually says "at least you've got your pig". :lol:
