I've just finished reading 'A streetcar called desire'. Yes, it was really sad and Kowalski doing what he did to his wife's sister was sick, but it is an excellant play. I'm becoming obsessed with reading literature again...my entire weekend was spent reading and doing research for biology. I'm currently reading some of Sylvia Plath's and W.H Auden's poetry and re-reading Cold Mountain and Comedians for my mock exams.

I love Sylvia Plath's poetry.. so horribly depressing.. they're always a good read :)

Liz, remember I told you I wrote an essay on P&P.. well, uhm.. can't find it anymore :(

Well I finished this book but can't miss the chance to reccomend it. "Observatory Mansions" by Edward Carey.

It is a great read, very complex and fascinating. It's creepy, funny, sad and ultimately moving. It concerns a man called Francis Orme who collects/steals items from other people on the one condition that the item is loved.

He lives with a group of eccentric characters in Observatory Mansions. One day his life is disrupted by a new tennant. I won't give too much away but this book is fantastic and when I found out why Francis acts the way he does I was crying. Just beautiful!

i read light fun books, i dont have time at school right now to read books that i have to pay really close attention to, especially since it could take me weeks to finish a book in between school work.
so yesturday when i saw the new 'shopaholic and baby' book at chapters i had to get it. ive read all the shopaholic series as well as sophie kinsellas other books. they are so fun. shopaholic and baby was just as cute and silly as the others. i read all of it yesturday so dont have to worry about not having time to finish it

Case Histories by Kate Atkinson

it's kind of part murder/mystery but more WHY than how or when

it's really interesting.

The author is English so there are some words I have to guess what she means

Besides lots of pregnancy books (I'm expecting my 1st in August) I'm plowing through Saving fish from drowning by Amy Tan.

I'm now reading Warrior's Woman by Johanna Lindsey. It's about a woman from the future who meets a Warrior from the past. Lots of excitment and of course love.

My course book Nordens arkeologi (Nordic Archaeology). It's pretty boring, but I have to read it otherwise I wouldn't study archaeology. :p

I started reading Scott Turow's novel Presumed Innconcent a couple days ago and I am loving his writing. I mid way through and the writing is fantastic along with the characters and their conflicts which feel very real. The characters have more personality and problems then the ones which are apparent which makes the characters more real.
