CBS carried the night Wednesday, led by "Criminal Minds" (15.7 million, 4.3/11) and "CSI: NY" (13.1 million, 3.8/10), the former beating ABC's "Private Practice" (11.5 million, 4.2/11) in adults 18-49 for the first time and the latter having no problem besting ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money" (7.9 million, 2.8/8) and NBC's "Life" (12.5 million, 2.5/7).

I'm confused--the second set of data doesn't match the first. PP only got in the 8 mil range on Wednesday, and Life didn't air.

The first set of data is the one I've seen, and it's awesome! NY actually went up the night before Thanksgiving! That's really impressive. Believe it or not, it probably tied CSI's ratings on Thanksgiving, because CSI pulled in viewers somewhere in the 14 million range.

So, I haven't seen the episode yet, but here's how it done:

CSI: NY kept CBS’ dominance intact with 14.03 million viewers and a 4.1/11 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. But one year earlier, the final national results were considerably stronger at 16.43 million viewers and a 5.3/14 among adults 18-49.

Well, it's gone from the high 12 mils to the 14 mils since the premiere, so that's good. Obviously the show was doing better this time last season--but that's true of all shows. Everything is down from last season.

I am thinking we should be looking at the relative position compared to other shows from year to year. Also, 10 pm shows have had more of a ratings hit than any others. I am betting the ratings drop from criminal minds to csi ny isn't as large as the recorded ratings are showing. Who records a show at 10 pm, and watches it the same day?

CSI: NY viewers love them some Danny drama. :D

Yes, they do! :D I forgot how 410 did--I think it was in the 14 mil range as well--but it seems like the show has been doing much better in the last few weeks. It's really climbed since the premiere, which was in the high 12 mil range!

Not bad at all for a rerun. The CSI shows really do well in repeats.

And if I'm not mistaken, I think this past week's NY rerun even beat out the Vegas one, which is unusual. Glad to see NY hanging in there!

Ratings

CBS’ underrated Criminal Minds rose to a dominant 14.59 million viewers and a 3.9/10 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. (the most-watched show of the evening, in fact). But lead-out CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 11.59 million; A18-49: #1, 3.5/10 at 10 p.m.) has seen its advantage deteriorate opposite Law & Order.
