CBS carried the night Wednesday, led by "Criminal Minds" (15.7 million, 4.3/11) and "CSI: NY" (13.1 million, 3.8/10), the former beating ABC's "Private Practice" (11.5 million, 4.2/11) in adults 18-49 for the first time and the latter having no problem besting ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money" (7.9 million, 2.8/8) and NBC's "Life" (12.5 million, 2.5/7).
CSI: NY kept CBS’ dominance intact with 14.03 million viewers and a 4.1/11 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. But one year earlier, the final national results were considerably stronger at 16.43 million viewers and a 5.3/14 among adults 18-49.

CBS’ underrated Criminal Minds rose to a dominant 14.59 million viewers and a 3.9/10 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. (the most-watched show of the evening, in fact). But lead-out CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 11.59 million; A18-49: #1, 3.5/10 at 10 p.m.) has seen its advantage deteriorate opposite Law & Order.
