'Counselor at Law' Star Dies
<SNIPS>
Arthur Hill, a veteran actor whose career was punctuated by two distinctly different roles — the weary, abused husband in the Broadway production of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and the stalwart attorney in the television series "Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law" — has died. He was 84.

Hill died Sunday of Alzheimer's disease at an assisted-living facility in Pacific Palisades, according to his son, Douglas.

In addition to his son, he is survived by his second wife, Anne-Sophie Taraba; a stepdaughter, Daryn Sherman; a step-granddaughter; and two sisters.

There will be no services.

Yeah I remember that show. Think Lee Majors also played in it then David Soul took his place when he(LM) left the show. I loved it.

Basketball legend Red Auerbach died today at the age of 89.

from espn.com
WASHINGTON -- His genius was building a basketball dynasty in Boston, his gift was straight talk, his signature was the pungent cigar he lit up and savored after every victory.

Red Auerbach, the Hall of Famer who guided the Celtics to 16 championships -- first as a coach and later as general manager -- died Saturday. He was 89.

Auerbach died of a heart attack near his home in Washington, according to an NBA official, who didn't want to be identified. His last public appearance was on Wednesday, when he received the U.S. Navy's Lone Sailor Award in front of family and friends at a ceremony in the nation's capital.

And, as mentioned earlier, here is about former boxing Heavyweight Champion Trevor Berbick:

also from espn.com

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Former heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick was found dead in a church courtyard Saturday with chop wounds to his head in a suspected homicide.

Police have arrested a man and were interrogating him at the Port Antonio police station in Portland, Constable Sheldon Francis said.

Berbick's body was discovered about 6:30 a.m. in his hometown parish of Portland, constable Beverly Howell said. The former fighter, believed to be 52, was pronounced dead by a doctor in the church courtyard.

Police did not have a motive and there was no word yet on what kind of weapon was used or how many people were involved in Berbick's death.

Berbick, beset by legal problems after his retirement from the ring, lost his heavyweight title to Mike Tyson and was the last boxer to fight Muhammad Ali.

Wow, really sad day in the world of sports.

I know I'm a couple days too late, and I know she wasn't a celebrity. Despite those thing, I'd like to make sure we remember Rosa Parks who died just over one year ago on October 24.

Actress Adrienne Shelly Found Dead

American actress Adrienne Shelly was found dead at her New York City apartment on Wednesday in what appears to be a suicide. She was 40. Shelly was discovered hanging from a bedsheet by her husband Andy Ostroy, according to the New York Daily News. Police found no evidence of foul play. Shelly - real name Adrienne Levine - was best known for her appearances in the Hal Hartley movies The Unbelievable Truth and Trust. Agent Rachel Sheedy says, "She was an incredibly sweet and talented and generous woman." Police officers are awaiting an autopsy report before deciding whether to continue with investigations. Shelly is survived by her husband and three-year-old daughter Sophie.

Re: The Rest In Peace & Remembrance Thread

Apparently she was actually murdered by a construction worker, because she was complaining about the noise.

Re: The Rest In Peace & Remembrance Thread

Poor Ed. He was truly a class act and I will miss him terribly on 60 Minutes. He's been my long time fave on that show.

RIP Mr. Bradley. You will be missed.

Re: The Rest In Peace & Remembrance Thread

RIP Ed Bradley, you will forever be remembered for the marks you have made in this world, may your family find peace and love from all those you have touched, and in the fact that you are in a good place now.

Re: The Rest In Peace & Remembrance Thread

RIP Jack Palance, a great actor.

On my local news Local R&B Artist Gerald Levert Dies.

Cleveland area R&B artist Gerald Levert died Friday of an apparent heart attack at the age of 40.

Levert died at his Newbury home, his record label, Atlantic Records, confirmed. He was taken to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, a hospital spokesman said.

A statement on Levert's Web site read, "We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Gerald Levert. The family asks that you keep Gerald in your prayers, hearts and minds. He will truly be missed."

Levert was the son of Eddie Levert, a founding member of The O'Jays, a longtime R&B group. -- Levert became lead singer of the trio Levert in 1985. He began his solo recording career in 1991.

Levert became known for his sensual, romantic songs, but unlike a Luther Vandross, whose voice and songs were more genteel, Levert's music was explosive and raw -- his 2002 album was titled "The G Spot." -- His most recent album was 2005's "Voices."
