The photos of the day!

Gaelen
+ I like the simpleness of the water and the rocks. Nature at it's best.
- The horizon line is brighter than the rest of the photo. There is almost a white hint drawing the eye to the brightness.

So I went digging and found some photos that don't contain snow. Since it loves to snow heavily on days I don't have to work and is nice when I have to work. Murphay's Law at it's best...

+ I like the way the hints of colour show through the more grayscale picture. Quite interesting.
- It's a wee bit out of focus I'd say, but that in itself gives a whole new dimension.

Mine for today: Shipwreck off the coast

Gaelen
+ Again I am liking the over all nature aspect.
- The rocks are more in focus than the ship. Also there is a lot of negative space above the ship, perhaps zooming in a bit more might help.

I was bored on a plane trip, so this make shift still life was born.

+ I like the randomness of the objects, it makes the piece interesting.
- Compositionally, there are alot of negative spaces that could have been filled.

Here's mine: The Horizon

Gaelen
+ interesting picture, the mountains seem to float above the water.
- is the water the main focus? If so there should be slightly less sky. Is the horizon the main focus? Then there should be slightly less water.

Mine for today, I normally don't like taking pictures of people but I do like taking pictures of my family, two of my sisters.

+ Overall the compostion and lighting work very well together.
- While the flowers make a nice frame they do take away from the subject of your sisters.

Took this on my way to work this morning, and didn't get there late either.

+ Very nice picture there, beautiful sunrise.
- It's a little busy I think on the bottom, and the snow on the trees also captures the eye. I don't know whether to look at the sun first or try and figure out what's happening on the bottom. Cropping the bottom off slightly might have given a better effect.

Here's a pic of a seaside alcove I took:

Gaelen
+ Beautiful picture, you are so lucky to live in a place that this kind if scenery. The colors are amazing, the contrast of the water, the wave "froth," the beach and the hills are wonderful.
- The extreme right hand side of the inlet seems cut off to me. Reframing the shot or pulling back slightly may have allowed the curve to continue around the edge.

Mine for today. Another zoo picture, I love zoos can't you tell?

Amy777
+ The detail on the head is particularly well captured.
- I think the composition would have seemed less "cut" if more or less of the body was included.

Here's a picture of the clouds I took when I went to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe:

Gaelen
+ The different formations that the clouds are in work well and keep it interesting.
- The lighter sky/clouds towards the top right detract from the darkness of the rest of the photo.

Here's the pne for today.

Wolfsgamergirl

+ interesting idea, I like the diagonal placing of the (ice?) good abstract photo.
- keep experimenting, try changing contrast, or using different filters on this one. This photo could be a good base for a scrap booking page.

Mine for today, another animal picture. Kind of a funny one, it makes you ask just who is watching who here.

Amy777

+ I just have to say, this is such a gorgeous photo. It looks like it could be on a postcard or something. The composition is really nice and it looks like the monkey (is it an orangutang?) is posing just for you :)
- A little bit more contrast and the picture would really pop, but there really is nothing wrong with this.

It's a beautiful picture :)

And this, is my in my attempt to be creative, I don't usually arrange things to take pictures I'm an opportunist lol. My lovely front door :) I like green lol.

+ I love the combination of the strong pinks and reds above green. They complement really well and the touches of white help to not make that relationship overpowering.
- The right side of the picture looks unintentionally cut off. Either cut more of the flowers or leaving a little of the green as a border would have made it better.

Here's a strange composition of sorts:

Gaelen
+ Interesting, yes, it kind of looks like the desert is trying to swallow up all that man brings. I like the subjects, good composition. Nice and clear and sharp through out.
- There is quite a bit of sky, cropping some of that off would make this picture better, I think.

Mine for today. One more picture of my sister.

Amy777
+ Your sister is nicely centered, and makes a very nice portrait.
- The brightness of the flowers tend to take away from the subject a bit.

Rnadom photo from me today. Took some odd ones yesterday when I finally got a day off of work.
