The Official Pet Thread pt2

Seeing that "Rescued black labrador retriever pays it forward" link in Dynamo1's post above mine ^^up there^^ got me to thinking. I realized I forgot to tell you something about my dog Beau. Beau and the dog I had before him that was named Suzey were both adopted from animal shelters. We got Suzey from the animal shelter across the Tennessee River in Lauderdale County in Alabama February 19, 1991. Suzey was very close to 14.5 years old when she died June 13, 2000. Then exactly 3 months later on September 13, 2000 we got Beau from the animal shelter in this county-Colbert County in Alabama. Beau was about 3 years old when we got him. Beau and Suzey have something else besides animal shelters in common. Suzey liked mom better than me and Beau is the same way. But...I wreckon that's the way we have to get them to get any that are house broken and seem to know what you're saying to them. The ones that like me will go potty anywhere on anything and chew on everything.
When we got Beau, the people at the animal shelter told us that a lady saw Beau running down the road. She stopped and caught him and brought him to the shelter. That lady may have saved Beau's life and kept him from becoming roadkill.

Since this is the pet thread, I thought I'd share a little info about my pets.
I have 4 mice, a guinea pig and a dog.

The names of the 4 mice are:
1...Penny
2...Patches Jr.
3...Dusty Jr.
4...Señorita.

The guinea pig I haven't named, yet, but I do know it's a girl.

My dog's name is Beau Barry. Mom and I just call him Beau.
He's named after these 2 actors:
1...Beau Kazer who occasionally appears as Brock Reynolds on Young & the Restless.
2...Barry Van Dyke son of Dick Van Dyke. Barry played Steve Sloan in the tv show Diagnosis Murder.

Since ^^my post I quoted^^ I have added one more pet to the list.
My pet rat named Diego. Quoting from my latest post in the "Tell Us Something Random About Yourselves" thread:
02...I'm currently nuts about the 1957-1959 show Zorro starring Guy Williams.
^^That's^^ where I got the name Diego. Diego as in Diego de la Vega/Zorro.

For those who follow the lolcats on the icanhascheezburger site, if you saw this one today with the lion and "stew"...I know this guy! It's Joe Taft, and he runs a big cat rescue place near here.

I've been there to visit many times. It's a wonderful place with almost 200 rescued tigers, lions, panthers, and bobcats. Of course, the stories from all of the animals are usually horrific, but it's so great to see him be able to save so many of them and let them live out the rest of their lives safe and happy. :)

Here's a link to the Exotic Feline Rescue Center's website. And here's a link to some photos that I took on a couple of my trips there. :)

millie (one of my cats) has gone walkies - she likes being by herself so sometimes goes off for a bit and i don't see her but i've not seen her at all in 2 days which is a bit worrying. the cats' food is all being eaten and although boobs (her bro) is a greedy sod i don't think he's that greedy, so i'm assuming she's around, but i hope she's ok and comes back. i think boobs is out looking for her - i had put his forlorn miaowings down to heat and muggy weather but i think he's pining. well, that or trying to be lassie and tell me she's stuck somewhere and needs rescuing but i think it's unlikely, he's a truly wonderful cat but he's really not that clever

i'm not panicking just yet - millie does wander off sometimes, and the weather's been so muggy she's probably found a nice cool, shady bush to sit under til it passes, but even so, i'm a bit concerned :(

Awww I hope you see her again soon. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Stef, thanks for the cute pics of that rascal, Juri! I'm glad he's with you now. :)

Lisasimpson, I hope Millie shows back up soon. Please post and let us know.

still no sign of millie yet - i'm getting quite worried now, it's been at least 3 days since i've seen her. i put notes through all the neighbours' letterboxes and rang the vet in case she gets handed in there - i'm really worried :S

lisa..my prayers with you..

Here is some pics of Troy George..we just call him Troy..it's easier that way..he's sprawled on my daughter's Hannah Montanna blanket with his feet on a teddy bear. He's such a man like that!

I'm too sexy for this Hannah Montanna blanket!

And of course, sexy Stella

I haven't been on the lolcats website as of late, but that photo is so funny!
