 So much for keeping terrorism off our streets. Then again, its just general knowledge right? I mean its not like everyone's going to blow something up, otherwise they would've done that long ago. Like me for instance, since I hate everything and everyone. :)

Gosh I love scaring people like that.

LOL

I wouldn't ever build a bomb, I'm just saying I could.
And thats not all, I know how to (mass)poison people, I know where to get a gun, I know how to pass knives and other objects through airport security, I got it all... TV educates, though for a lot of things you don't even need TV. I figured out all by myself how to put certain things into use... But I'm a good girl. I'd never kill anyone.
Doesn't mean it's no fun to scare people a little

i accidentally left scissors in my backpack that i took on a plane. they didnt catch it in toronto (cuz really, its toronto) but when we tried to go back home they found them in florida! it was in a weird pocket, so they couldnt get to them. all the armed gaurds started coming over and standing their with their riffles. lucky for me they found them. they were like little kid safety scissors. the ones with rounded tips and can barely cut through paper. but it was the week after they guy tried to light his shoebomb on fire, so i guess they were on high alert.

I'm scared! :)

I don't know that I could build a bomb, I am science incompetent, although my Dad taught Chemistry and Physics so maybe he could teach me... I would probably blow myself up (which would, of course, be better than killing others).

I also don't know how to get hold of a gun, mass poison people or anything dangerous really. Feel I may have lived a sheltered life so far... Then again the internet is a wonderful (or dangerous) thing, so I'm sure I would manage. :)

That gun thing didn't come from the internet...

But really, we should be worried that all you have to do is type "pipe-bomb" into google and you'll get instructions for building one. Everyone can do it. And even kids have access to those pages.

On the other hand, if one is really out to build a bomb they'd manage, even without i-net.

Yep, you can get anything you want to nowadays, I guess we have to hope that most people are kind and care about mankind.

Allmaple , I had my eyebrow tweezers taken away from me at the airport recently (my fault for not remembering they were banned) but flying back in to England I could have taken anything I wanted through security, which is rather worrying... although it's the security men with guns that scare me more! :)

I once had a bunch of armed guards in MONTREAL go nuts because I had a hair brush in my backpack and they couldn't 'identify' it. But I guess you can tell Canada's bilingual when they asked me to pick in which language I'd prefer to be yelled at. :p

^My funniest airport moment wasn on JFK. My mom so wanted to speak in English and the dude who checked the passports asked "are you on vacation" and mom gave so serious sounding explanation who we'll visit. I said in Finnish to mom "he asked only if we are on holiday. The word vacation is the same then holiday" and my mom looks at me like "oh! I didn't know that" and they guy had strange look when he looked at us :p

I went through control on a class trip once and my friend kept beeping at the gates. The made her take off her shoes, empty all pockets, take off her jacket and she was still beeping. Turned out it was the buttons on her pants. We were convinced they were gonna make her drop the pants
They didn't but they were close. And people were complaining about the hold up...

 Sure you're a good girl. We all know that and trust that you will not poison us all for taking up your post space.

JFK... that brings back memories, I nearly choked when one of the security guards was trying to help me take the video camera off my neck. That was painful.

Mr. Krabs: Plankton!
Plankton: Krabs!
Mr. Krabs: Plankton!
Plankton: Krabs!
Mr. Krabs: Plankton!!
Plankton: Krabs!
Spongebob: Spongebob :)

I adore that scene. I think it should win the Noble Peace Prize.

The other day when we flew out of Newcastle they confiscated my lip balm - I mean hello, how is that a safety issue? Are my shiny lips going to blind someone?

I went on a plane a few days after the scare in England, when you weren't allowed to take anything on with you (well, I could, cause we're in Canada, but anyway). That was an interesting experience. Poor guy in front of me had to leave half his stuff behind, going throught security. I had to take my belt off, that was it.

Going off topic, hmm in the off topic thread who would have thought? Am I the only one who is getting a bit sick of political correctness? I mean today at work I got told that we can no longer call it brainstorming – it is now having a ‘thought shower’ – My reaction, "are you taking the pi$$?" Apparently someone has decided that the term brainstorming may be offensive to some people. My whiteboard is also no-longer to be called that it is now a dry-erase board or something, yeah right!
