It's very telling when people who aren't Nick/Greg shippers, can see The Love too. I mean, even my boyfriend, whose gaydar needs new batteries, see it! :lol: It must be too obvious, right?

LOL...better get those batteries fixed quick. My hubby says the same thing and even my 11 year old son thinks Greg is gay. He's his favorite and right off said he was gay. So when grannies, straight men and little kids think it, then it's too obvious.

Yes, it's too obvious even for the people who make CSI WIKI pages like this one. Look what they say about the boys:

NICK: The Texan with shor dark brown (almost black) hair and if you catch him in season 6, in some episodes he's sporting the 'porn-stache' of a sleazy pornstar. At first, you see him with anger management issues and a competitive streak with his colleage Warrick. However later this dies out. It seems that there is some vendetta between the writers and Nick, who like to make his life miserable from the word 'go'. Thrown out of a window, a crazy staker in his attic and then buried alive when Quentin Tarantino brought "Kill Bill" to Las Vegas. He has an emotional attachment to cases involving children too after being abused by his babysitter when he was nine, because, of course, there always has to be some drama. He's the one that is given all the lady appeal in the show and is, apparently, a charmer but it is rumored he is actually gay and sleeping with Greg. :devil: To recognize Nick, it really isn't that hard, just listen to the Texan accent and watch for the cowboy look.



GREG: Spiky hair, loud shirts, and even louder music at first, could help you identify him but then, towards later seasons, look for a mop of blonde and brown hair. Previously a DNA technician for the team but then, in the fifth season (surprised?) he becomes a CSI, which gives him more airtime. For about five minutes, then the so called 'airtime' just go straight down the hole....until season nine, that is. At first you can see him as a light hearted flirt that jokes persistently and brings comic relief to the show. Too bad that, as a CSI, Greg is tamer, serious and tries very hard to impress people. He's been blown up, burned his back (without any scars?!?!) and has been traumatized by it too. He's also been beaten up because that's one of the only storylines not done by CBS. He looks up to Grissom and works hard to impress the bugman and prove that he is worth the position as CSI. He was originally to be the 'token gay' but CBS writers couldn't decide between him, Bobby Dawson or Nick Stokes so TPTB put it in truckloads of subtext to compensate the gay community.

So yes, it's too obvious

I've been trying to convert my friends to the Nick/Greg ship (along with two others), and they seem to be gradually getting on board. We were watching the Boston Marathon a few weeks ago since it's near our school and one of my friends saw a guy with the name Nick marked on his shirt running next to a guy with the name Greg marked on his shirt. She regretted not being able to get a photo, but it still made my day. Also, I have a pretty picture that one of my mad-photoshop-skills-possessing friends made for me.

We've also read articles on the media about Nick/Greg (msnbc, The Advertiser...). Does anyone remember Sobell's recaps on Television Without Pity? She always mentioned the blatant gay subtext between Nick and Liam (Greg).

Does anyone have links to any of these articles referenced?

But the mention of Leslie Sobell brought me back here for I freaking love her reviews (and not only because she notices so much going on between Nick and Greg )

Today I watched Random Acts of Violence. I can watch the scene with Nick and Greg so many times and still it's not boring. I don't care this time too much about words (ohh, realtionship? Hehe, of course, relationship) but the looks. Nick looked so funny when Greg wanted to talk with him. He was quite amused - maybe he thought that Greg would tell him something kinky?:lol: And boom, his Greggo was disappointed. After that I had not very nice thought about Greg (sorry, first second, you can think everything) - he thought that dating Nick would help him in carreer? Or Nick said something in bed?:devil: Sorry, I can't say with much sense but I'm sure what I want to say is clear:lol: Definitely Greg was so jealous when he saw Nick going to Archie's lab. I need to see this scene again

I love looking for subtext and I love the blatant stuff too. From the first episode right down to Hog Heaven with Nick talking about Joey's 'girlfriend' in that particular tone of voice while shooting Greg a look.

I'm having a really hard time lately and could use some of those Love caps from you guys. So my very selfish request is...can ya'll post your favourite/best caps for me? Just so I can look at them again and smile for a bit?

I agree with you, Deirdre; that scene from Random Acts of Violence is amazing. I've already said this on another thread but the fact that Greg says 'relationship' not 'friendship' speaks volumes to me...And his body language...he acts like my friend when her boyfriend goes out without telling her :lol:

Very good advice! I love her stories and a re-read would be just what the doctor ordered.

Also love rispacooper as a writer. So I think that is how I will spend my evening...reading, writing...breathing Nick and Greg.

Regarding that scene from "Random Acts of Violence", on this board, Nick/Greg was second in the Best Ship category (351 votes) after Grissom/Catherine with 356, so the difference was minimal

I no that they have both been in life or death situations but neither of them has died...duh! But if one of them did, do you think that the other would then confess their love? I know that it sounds kinda cheesy but I'd like to hear what you think.

Hm, first of all, I hope neither of them dies, ever! I'm not sure I could watch on if that happened.
As for your question, I think Nicky would have a violent outburst, followed by an emotional breakdown. Thinking about it I can really imagine it. First he punches something/someone and then he breaks down on the floor and cries for his lost love.
Greg on the other hand would be calmer. He'd suffer quietly for a very long time, probably loosing a lot of weight and ultimately have a breakdown.
I don't think either of them would confess their love for the other to the others. I could imagine a scene in the hospital though where Nick or Greg is alone with the body and confessing their love by a last kiss.

You do know that I'm rather depressed now, thinking about our lovely boys dying! I want at least one cookie to make up for it .


So, how was the season finale. It was on last Thursday, wasn't it? But by the lack of posts I think there wasn't much interaction between Nick and Greg?

No there was none, because Nick was only in one very short scene at the beginning where he said goodbye to Ray. Nick was going to a seminar for 2 wks to learn how to be the next bug guy, he wasn't in the rest of the episode. (FYI - in case you all didn't know George had to have back surgery for a herniated disk)

There was a decent amount of Greg in the episode though.

Yeah, the same here . The other day I was talking to Twiz about how hard is for me to read Nick/Greg deathfics. I can imagine how the Yobling shippers must be feeling after Warrick's death....

love_fan, sadly there wasn't any Nick/Greg scene in the season finale. As Wojo has said, George had back surgery and that explains why they wrote him off in the finale.

But that doesn't stop us, Love fans, to think that Nick will get a surprise visit from his boyfriend.....The boys together in Hawaii...that's a fic that needs to be written *off to read Saras_Girl's "A Certain Sunset"
