3 ways I wish the Love would become canon

If they were to ever go canon, I foresee something subtle yet obvious-obvious to "The Love" fans at least. In that same sarcastic, metaphoric CBS/CSI way.

1. I can see this being somewhere near the end of an episode. The shift is almost over and Nick catches Greg right before he enters a room hunting for results.

Nick: Hey Greg, have you eaten dinner yet?
Greg: No. But you're welcome to get some and bring it over. *smirk*

2. This scenerio I could TOTALLY see happening. Nick & Greg are outed by their couple jewelry. Maybe by Catherine. (Or it could have been Sara.)

(After the closing of a case)

Catherine: By the way Nick, nice ring.
Nick: Hmm?
Catherine: You know, the same one that's dangling around Greg's neck?
Nick: *is stunned but looks over at Catherine*
Catherine: Don't worry, I won't tell anyone.

*Nick relaxes*

Catherine: But I gotta know one thing...who bottoms?

3. This last scenario is something that only Grissom could pull off. It would be some time around when Greg first becomes a CSI.

(Grissom is handing out assignments)

Grissom: Nick, you and Warrick are on a 419 in the desert. Catherine, DB in a grocery store off of Boulder Highway. Sara and Greg-shoot out at the Tangier's.

*Everyone starts to disperse but Nick stays behind*

Nick: Couldn't put us on the same case?

(Nick is speaking in regards to christening Greg's CSI virginity and he wants to work on a case with him to help him out.)

*Grissom looks at Nick incredulously*

Nick: Afraid I'll do all the work for him?
Grissom: Actually, I'm worried about the integrity of the lab.

*Nick stares at Grissom, confused*

Grissom: You know that desert temperatures can reach up to 120 °C, right?

*Nick nods*

Nick: So?

Grissom: So would you still be able to focus on your work while Greg is all hot and sweaty?


*Nick blushes and tries to pass off an awkward laugh*

That's such a Cath thing to say :thumbsup:! I so could imagine her asking that :lol:

Something I think could work for the show and wouldn't draw too much "unwanted" attention to our boys could be a short scene in the locker room or the break room at the end of an episode. One of them could have had a hard time with a case and the other would come in and comfort him with a light squeeze on the shoulder or (even better) a soft caress to his cheek :luvlove:. I wrote a similar story for the Defining Moments Wiki once. It would be something subtle and "tasteful" and no one could complain about it.

3 things I LOVE about the Love.


1. It's natural and believable, the chemistry and the regard Nick and Greg have for each other is real. It gives me hope and inspiration, it got me writing again!

2. It keeps me interested and entertained, looking for subtext, talking about subtext, writing about subtext. It's fun and sweet and hot to think about.

3. It's made me good friends I normally would never have met.

1. Nick turns to Greg and says 'see you at home'.

I really hope something like this would actually happen! Just four words, but it would mean everything. Though I would probably die of all the fangirl squeeing if that would happen :lol:

Anyway, I agree egeria, it is believable and the chemistry is really there. I remember something a friend of mine said a while ago when we were watching Bad Words. Well when this happened:

She was like: Wait what? Are they together or did I miss something? Does Nick always touch peoples chests and call them doll?

That kind of made me happy haha, she isn't even that into CSI.

3 reasons the Love makes me happy:

1) Nick and Greg work well together and they have a respect for each other that goes just beyond their jobs.

2) Nick accepts Greg for who he is. And likewise Greg accepts Nick for who he is A two way street in any relationship.

3) I enjoy looking at the caps later to see the subtle moments. It's captures an image to see later and later and later

And I have to agree with Wojo about letting Nick and Greg become canon. Don't get me wrong I would love to see it happen but I don't think the current writers would and could do justice to a relationship like Nick and Greg's.

I'm not really saying I want the Love to go canon either, but if it did, those are the three ways I'd like to see it happen. I like the Love as it is, although I could do with a little more subtext :lol:

3 Love moments I can't live without

1. Rashomama and the public declaration of love. Because the words, the way Nick looks at Greg and the way Greg eats that piece of bacon...it says it all. Forget the subtext, this scene screamed Love.

2. Searching the bedroom in Leave Out All the Rest, because it inspired me to write my first CSI slash fic and I've never looked back. Since then I've grown into a better writer, and I can thank the boys for that.

3. Searching the highway in A La Cart, because not only do they look amazing in the sunlight, but it's a perfect example of a couple's chatter, natural with an undercurrent of privacy. It was like they were having two conversations.

Hmm...I might do 3 MORE Love moments I can't live without later...:lol:

I'm not so sure I want 'The Love' to go canon -TPTB will only ruin it.

But three things that make me happy about our ship:

1) Both guys are hot, and look hot together. The chemistry between them is so real.
2) They don't have to flaunt it, its subtle and natural.
3) I love the looks, the way they communicate without words, its obvious there is a bond between them.

From the very first season you can see it.

Well before i get onto that little game, I have to agree I know that i've taken a 360 degree change but i have to agree with Wojo... Unless TPTB make Nick and Greg a strong gay couple- and lets be honest we all need good gay role models, then.... i dont want my little fanheart to be crushed by one man's explorations... LOL.

I really must be out of the loop but for me season nine has been well different and less love air time... and when did Greg make level 3? i think i must've been asleep !!

Ok is that game ok to play?

Well heres my 3 love moments.

1. Public declaration of love- If any fan people or shippers or slashers have lost thier own love- check out the declaration of love. Nick to Greg. Pure and simple. Sara being the synic of marriage and love knew full well that Nick told Greg he loved him... enough said.

2. A la cart- There can only be great moments in a relationship weather secret or not- when Greg being the younger of the two flashes his eyes at Nick gettting him to chase after the suspect.

That. Is. Love.

3. Nick getting angry- the jaw clench? of love- after Greg got beaten up (please, I still have issues with this...) and Nick was processing the scene his anger was there and Warrick knew full well how much Greg meant and means to Nick.

I have a few more, so please someone post and then i can post again- and then probably vanish into the ether of slash fiction.

Ah, all great Love moments. I especially like the on in A La Cart where Nick looks at Greg like "I can't believe he didn't tell me about Sara and Grissom" (see also my banner). And of course Greg's answering smirk

I still think that the looks in Felonious Monk are the hottest and most intimate ever. I mean, look at them!

It's really difficult to just pic 3 Love moments. Every time they're together is a great Love moment . But I guess I'll pick Scuba Doobie Doo. The way Greg got closer and closer to Nick and Nick's "Leggo My Greggo" ... It's just a classic.


Oh, and I totally agree with all of you who are questioning TPTB's ability to make N/G into a couple. It would be great but I'm too afraid that they might mess them up :shifty:

1. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. This one was a song a friend of mine had me listen to, she said it reminded her of the Love. Well, it was so much a Love song that I wrote a fic based on it.

2. Gorecki by Lamb. It's haunting and beautiful and soulful and always makes me think of Nick and Greg.

3. (s)Aint by Marilyn Manson, mostly because it reminds me of Submission Games by rispacooper :lol:

Ah, hm, 3 songs ... well, definitely Obvious by Anthony Callea. After watching a fanvid by Clarrissani I couldn't get it out of my mind and had to write a songfic. I just think it fits their relationship perfectly!

Then there is, of course, (s)AINT Every time I hear that song I have to think about the video and Eric in this mini skirt

Ahh Lovefan thanks hon and good love moments....

Heres another bunch.

1. Greg going into the field... Nick didnt want him out there- maybe because he liked his coworker and friend and bf to be inside the office where he can keep his eye on him?

2. Felonious Monk as Lovefan already suggested. That scene in Grissom office smoked so much the rescure services had to help unexpected co-workers out of the office.... Try explaning that away...

3. Lab Greg- when he distrubuted current articles of the Lab's in house magazine... Although (George's) character Nick Stokes got mad....that was just for show!!! cause Nick really enjoyed the attention from his friend. I wish i had some pics to show but im sure someone will be kind enough to display them... Chest touching anyone?

Nick in earlier seasons could not keep his hands off of Greg. He was addicted to the love. And addicted to (Eric Szmanda's) character Greg Sanders.

I dont know about songs, but good suggestion there egeria

I have a few more Love moments...

1) The stairway scene in Empty Eyes - they just had to look at each other to communicate their feelings.

2)The scene bewteen Nick, Greg, and Riley over the box of sex toys. Nick getting a bit miffed at Greg for flirting with Riley and all the while he is standing in the closet! And Greg's adorable smirk afterwords.

3)Bull- My fave CSI episode. Love all the interaction between the guys. Wendy's tale of animal sex and their reactions to it. Greg knowing what the bull love machine was used for!

CBS is HEAVY on the subtext...and I love it.

This is one of my favorite episodes EVER, and not just because there's a lot of N/G subtext. But also because Greg breaks the case !

(The episode is about a gay man who kills his lover; though this isn't the first time they've used the "closet reference." It's usually on Nick though xD)

GRISSOM: I got a call from Greg Sanders, at our lab. He found peanut shells on the foot pedals of Victor DaSilva's car.

BRASS: Hmm.

(GRISSOM stops as the pair of shoes in his hands has peanut shells stuck on the
undersides.)

GRISSOM: And voila.

(BRASS escorts FRED APPLEWHITE out of the lab. GRISSOM mumbles to NICK while NICK picks up the photos from the table.)

GRISSOM: You know that reminds me -- I got to remember to take Greg Sanders to lunch. He did a nice job sniffing out those peanuts.

(NICK smiles as GRISSOM leaves.)

NICK: (nods) Yeah, he did.

(NICK smiles.)


I SWEARRRRRRRR this scene was made by TPTB to appease NG fans. Seriously. It just translates to Grissom slyly telling Nick to 'take Greg out to lunch' without actually saying it. Why else would Nick smile and nod? :x This is a perfect oppurtunity for Nick to take the plunge...and with Grissom's unsaid help >:]

1. Lifehouse - First Time. Actually any Lifehouse song reminds me of the Love. But First Time is that one that reminds me of them the most, I think I may have used this to make a fanvid for Nick/Greg a long long time ago.

2. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Your Guardian Angel. I did a vid on this based on Grave Danger it was very angsty but the song was just perfect for the two.

3. Backstreet Boys - Shape of My Heart. Just an awesome hearty song so perfect for them. Properly more for the earlier seasons, where their flirting was so obvious.

1. A Certain Sunset by Saras_girl: this one has it all and evokes a real feeling of bittersweet true love. It's beautiful.

2. Submission Games by rispacooper: simply because the writing is breathtaking and the plot...yowza!

3. Whiskey by aebhel: Perfect plot and masterful writing put this fic in my top three. It's brilliant
