The Did you know...? thread

^I'm not sure Carmine even remembered he'd been on LV when he auditioned for NY. He wasn't too familiar with the other CSIs when he got the job.

Oh and who was originally considered for Flack? I forgot...just know that he's not in the Miami pilot or the promo shots from early S1. (got one as part of my wallpaper)

Flack was actually not conceived as a character until after "MIA/NYC-NonStop" was written. He was added and cast later, which is why Eddie wasn't in that episode. *is very, very glad they added Flack* :D

EDIT: Another fun fact: originally Mac was supposed to have a therapist that was going to be a recurring character, but she was dropped. (I believe she was supposed to appear in "Blink").

HEhe... When I realized Carmine had guest starred as Thumpy G, in that CSI episode, I like to think that ol' Thumpy got tired of the street racing scene and ran off to New York City, changed his name and became a CSI, (cos' he was so impressed by Catherine and Nick...)

I remember in the Season One DVD I have, they said that they literally had someone else in mind to play Flack, but they decided to look at Eddie Cahill. Anthony Zuiker said something along the lines of, "Wait, let's look at this kid... John Travolta good looks" something, something... that I've unfortunately forgotten...
I'm glad they chose Eddie ;)

From Wikipedia:

Detective Lindsey Monroe, played by Anna Belknap, is from Bozeman, Montana, the same town where CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's Catherine Willows (played by Marg Helgenberger) hails from.

Now THAT would be a great reason for a Crossover :D

In the season 2 episode "Grand Murder at Central Station," Carmine Giovinazzo is the voice of the public address announcer at the beginning of the episode.

The cell phones that are used in the show are Palm Treo 650's.

Anthony E. Zuiker wanted The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" to be the show's theme song. However, CBS president Leslie Moonves turned it down in favor of "Baba O'Riley" which was also performed by The Who.

Even though Catherine is supposed to be from Bozeman, in several episodes she mentions how Vegas is her hometown..so there goes consistency

Well, Catherine could've been born there and was moved to LV when she was little. Or was born in LV and moved to Montana when she was younger then moved back to LV.

I dunno, Im jus thinking outloud here

*nod* She just said it again this last ep.

The actor who played Louie Messer, Danny's brother, is actually Carmine's cousin. I put it on the Carmine thread already but tossed it in here too.

I remember talking about this somewhere (no clue which forum, or even if it was on Talk ), but I believe they might have changed Catherine's background. If I remember correctly, she was supposed to have left home and gone to Vegas and then her parents wouldn't let her come back or something (I really don't know, so sorry if I'm wrong :p). But that doesn't really work with Sam Braun being her dad, etc. So maybe they originally intended for Catherine to be from Bozeman, but when they changed her past (and neglected to edit any online info), the Bozeman part was up for grabs. Maybe one of the creators has a thing for Bozeman and wanted to use it for Lindsay since they didn't use it for Catherine. *shrug* ;) You can't blame them, it is a beautiful place. :)

Isn't Carmine suppossed to have appeared on all 3 CSI shows, as different characters or something? I swear I remember reading that somewhere, or something along those lines anyways!

Also, Carmine voiced the announcer on Murder at Grand Central Station? Seriously? Thats pretty cool! :D

Carmine played Thumpy G in the original CSI series episode "Revenge Is Best Served Cold" (season 3 episode 1), and he played Danny Messer in a Miami crossover episode "MIA/NYC Nonstop" (season 2 episode 23) that introduced the NY team.

Yes, Carmine is the only one to appear in all three of the shows but there's been lots of guest stars who have appeared in all three shows.

He's not the only one, David Caruso has been on all three though H only actually left Miami for the NY crossovers

Wouldn't that mean that David Caruso was on all 3 CSIs before Carmine? Because Cross Jurisdictions (LV) was in season 2 of LV...before Carmine was in Revenge is Best Served Cold (LV) in season 3...

Actually, the thing with Carmine is that he is the only one who was a guest star (ThumpyG on CSI) and then became a regular (Danny on Miami & NY).

As far as I know, David is the only one to appear as the same character (Horatio Caine) in all three CSI shows.

Im going to go pop in my DVDs, I never noticed that.
