The Closer

WOW talk about a nail biter:eek: intense. Another serial killer drama with a twist. Brenda and her team marvelous. The run-away truck how they filmet this amazing. With Sanchez hanging on the side. I was sitting on the edge of my chair. The low-life scum-bag creepy killer, with Brenda playing cat and mouse with him compelling. The guy who was also tied to the murders from El Paso, [was on CSI] Xander Berkeley was also great. A southern accent. When Brenda was interogating him and made him think he would be better off in California, [due too execution] then Texas, believed her, and spilled his guts. He had kept souvenirs from all the dead grils he killed 16:eek: She was horrified and was the viewer, but kept her cool. Provenza, also good~ When she was through she went out in the hallway, and I thought she was going to throw up:( The guy who played the killer gross. And her dad, he cracks me up, came to pick up Charlee, and his comments great "If I had wanted to be ignored, I'd have stayed home" + many more. The ending with her, and her niece heart wrenching.. good finale:bolian: A+

I definitely think that it's worth watching. I'd have to say it's the best season yet.

A lot of interesting cases that keep you guessing until the last minute. Also, they did an incredible job of bringing in guest characters (and actors) who are excellent matches for Brenda Leigh, in both the wits and drive department.

hey, shytownmofo! ;) you've convinced me! LOL i've just started watching it... damn, brenda and fritz look so cute married! i've always love this specific thing about the show: that no matter how much of a workaholic brenda is, TPTB showed this little personal side with fritzy.

i'm sad that kitty is sick.... i still don't know if she's going to die.

just a question though: from what i can see, there are 12 episodes so far. are they going to shoot more or season 6 is over?

xoxo :)

shippyangel what ep. are you in now? I won't give anything away, but keep watching about "kitty" soo cute, and so sad. great show, Kyra might win an Emmy she's that good, and a fabulous cast:thumbsup:

They've just had the season Finale about two weeks ago. Not sure on when they will do the premiere. I heard something about December, though.

The thing I love about the show is that Brenda Leigh is not portrayed as a saint or a martyr. She's a police woman, out for justice, and not exactly the nicest person. It seems like she'll screw anyone over just to get her justice.

I do agree that the way she's with Fritz. They make an adorable couple together, that's for sure.

Good to have you aboard. The more the merrier.

I love this show. I never miss it.
The casting is great. There are a couple of weaker characters that I think should be abandoned or developed more (we do have several seasons behind us), but I love nearly every character on The Closer.

hi, desertwind!
here in brazil is hard to really follow the seasons. so i'm downloading each. i've just ended season 2... but i'm watching season 5 as well and right now i've just watched the 8th episode. so, i guess charlie's staying over, right? it's going to be interesting to see brenda and fritz having sort of a test-drive with a "kid" home.
it's very obvious that fritz wants to have children with brenda... it bugs me that she not willing to give it a try.

HI, SHYTOWNMOFO!
so... season 5 doesn't end at the 12th episode right? i hope not! do you think they'll shoot season 6?

SAME HERE! i always like it when characters are not perfect, because it really feels like i'm watching REAL LIFE, not only the creationg of someone's mind. i think brenda fits that as a human being, both with amazing qualities and imperfections. for an instance, i love it how she understand the rules but is willing to bend them for what she believes is the right thing to do, i like that she hates bureaucratics (so do i) and... how selfish she really is... i look at her and i sort of feel like i'm watching this hard candy with a very sweet center. on the other hand, i hate it when she leaves her personal business aside and how she's let life take her ability of believing in good things (vg: she claims that she doesn't want to have kids for knowing how hard and unfair life can be).
i dunno, i'm probably wrong but that's the way i see things and that's why i'm so attracted to this show. so, believe me, shytownmofo, i do get your point. ;)

Good to have you aboard.

it feels really good to be here.

so, which season is your favorite, guys? x

I'm afraid so. They do what's called "Summer Seasons" here in the States, where shows on Cable like The Closer start in either Mayor June, then go to December, and go for about 12-15 episodes. The Idea is that when all the big shows one regular TV are in reruns, Cable shows like this are doing their new episodes.

As far as I know, they will be shooting Season 6. I don't know when it will come on, though. TNT.tv probably will have more info.

I totally agree. She's human. That's why I like her.

"Hard Candy with a very sweet Center." that's brilliant. That sums up Brenda in one sentence.

*ETA* Apparently, they WILL have three more season 5 episodes, Which will air in the fall/winter, even though everything I heard on TNT and elsewhere said that 5.12 was the Season Finale. Very Confusing.

I know what you mean. I'm confused too. :) They're saying one thing, then doing another. I'm just glad they're going to do more episodes, even if I have to wait for them.

I think it would be interesting for them to, although you can tell that Brenda doesn't really want kids of her own. That makes me want them to wait until the show is almost done, so if it doesn't work, they can adapt things.

However, Having Charlie around was really fun. I really hope she comes back.

Sure on Brenda and Fritz having a kid, she'd be great and he would too~

From last week's TV Guide~

BRINGING HOME THE BACON

Call it the Bacon family reunion! for a 4th time, Kevin Bacon has returned to "THE CLOSER", to direct wife Kyra Sedgwick in her smart cop drama. As a bonus, during this go-around, he also got to boss around the couples 17-year-old daughter Sosie. [she's completing a guest arc as Brenda's niece, Charlie] Here Bacon talks about how it feels being one degree of seperation from his gals..oh, and an Emmy~

Q Give us some scoop on the summer finale!
A Brenda is on the trail of a ninja killer, and she's joined by a detective from El Paso. It's bigger than they usually go on "The Closer", a gruesome murder, car chases..it's alot of fun.
Q How was it directing your wife and daughter?
A It's an interesting dynamic-I'm used to thinking of Kyra as an actress, but no so much with Sosie. It was an adjustment to seperate out my dad part. She really stepped up to the plate. it was great to see her do such good work~
Q How was it for them to take off their mother-daughter hats?
A Their characters have a very different relationship [than in real life]. Which makes sense, because Brenda Leigh Johnson cold not be futhur from Kyra Sedgwick~

Kyra really enjoyed having us around, says Bacon of their 'Closer' gig. The family lives in New York and films in Los Angeles for 6 months of the year~

There's a bit more but it's about him and his HBO movie~
