~The Break Room~ - Off-Topic Thread #2

I do that all the time also. Today I was walking to one of my classes, then forgot  I always go runing up and down stairs like 5 times because I'll forget what I need :p

I miss this thread, so I thought I'd bump it up. That, and I'm bored again.

So, something random... um... tell me what colour socks you're wearing.
One of mine is brown with chics on it, and the other one is yellow with monkey's on it.

I never wear socks actually, I hate the feeling of them on my feet because they're always too small and my feet sweat more when I wear them.

At the moment? Black :p

Mostly white... I'm used to sports socks so... I have a pile of Adidas socks. I do actually have two pairs of these awesoem Mizuno socks that doesn't make your feet sweaty at all :D

I miss this thread so I thought I'd bring it back up.

Is it me or is the feeling of getting paid for honest work great? Today I spent a few hours painting a shed in 90 degree heat and very humid weather and getting paid for the hard work was great.

Oh my gosh. I totally forgot about this thread. I like this thread!

Being paid for honest work...hmm, yes it is great. I don't find it great while I'm doing it though :p I work at a community center and I clean, it's boring and takes a long time, mothers tell there kids that I'm doing community service (which is why today I wore a name tag that said "Hello I work here"), random people I don't know talk to me about weird things like knitting a blanket and when I clean something someone makes it dirty again and I have to clean it again! Aha, so the paying part is the exciting part of the job :p

But it's better then sitting around pretending to work, then getting paid (I did that when I worked at Superstore a lot :p) it kinda makes you feel bad.

Well, I agree. Hard work doesn't feel good. The pay chack at the end of the month does though :p

I personally do not look forward to my summer job, sitting in a little office with 2 strangers, rearanging dusty files.

I never felt bad last year for writing down more hours than I actually worked. I counted the time from when I arrived at the work place, not from when I really worked because I always had lunch first when I got there. So what? I did do some honest hard work before that job every day at a school. Only they didn't pay me, it was more of a voluntarily project. So I figured I'd get the money elsewhere :p

Not like I didn't work there as well...

When I was younger I earned soe money by doing a paper round, and it was exhausting but it felt good to earn money on my own. Lateron I helped some kids with English and French, but I wouldn't consider that as really hard work. Now I'm in vocational training and sometimes it's really hard, and then I'm proud that I'm actually doing something and I'm glad to get good money for it.

Weird... I had just been thinking of digging this thread up, and here it is  Hurray for being off topic :p

Oh man I'd LOVE to be paid to help kids in French. The only thing I'm ever paid for is babysitting an adorable 3-year-old, which I would do for free anyday.

Hehe, same here. I always wanted to babysit for teh sake of sitting. I never cared whether I got payed for it or not. Sadly I never knew anyone who had a baby... only babysat for 2 girls who were a little older already.

Until I worked at the school that is, there I had all the kids I ever wanted. Hundreds! Between the age of 5 and 11. That was like paradise for me =)

*misses job*

I shouldn't have moved away :(

Oh yeah, I love to babysit my little two cousins, they are just too adorable :) Ah, I mean, every baby is adorable! Their little clothes and shoes. Yeah, I just received today a pair of baby shoes and they made my day. Wonder why I would have them?? Because my cousin knows that I completely adore those little things, so she gave them to me once they were too small for her daughter! :D Yep, I am crazy!

This thread sounds cool! Though I am still kind of wondering what people post. For now, I just joined the discussion going :p

Aww, baby shoes are adorable :)

My cousin's wife is going to have a baby soon, I can't wait to see the little one for the first time.

Everytime I see a baby I go all "loooook, there's a babyyyyyyy *insert squee* isn't it cute? Isn't it adorable? Ohhhh I wanna snatch it"

(don't worry, I'm sane enough not to do that, but those cuties tempt me every time :D)
