Yep I agree, I'm sure she'll win Roland one day. No doubt about that, I trust her. The point is she has a lot a pressure, so it's easier for her to play abroad. And maybe, according to her, that clay isn't her best surface, I mean she has a great grass game.

Nope I haven't noticed anything about Roddick, what's going on ?

well i was watching Roddick playing a match some time ago and he tried to play forehand all the time. but when it was absolutely necessary to play backhand, he sliced it every time. i think it was Wimbledon.

    Ok thanks.
I heard Roddick injured his back recently, he's one of the player I like the most, kinda showman on the court ;). Hope he'll be ok for Flushing Meadows. I dunno why but I get the impression Federer's gonna win it quite easily once more. NO, please no.

that explains it i guess ;)

there is an ATP tournament in my city right now going on too. today i watched Davydenko playing and i have to say that he's the most boring player EVER. i couldn't watch him play, i was thinking about vacations, CSI, talking with my friend all the time and making fun of people on the tribunes. he's terrible, never go and watch him play, it's a waste of money :p
Coria had to retire unfortunately, and Gaudio lost as well. i'm looking forward to tommorow's Robredo match though (i even played some tennis with him once :D ). i really like him, but he has to cut his hair, i prefer him with shorter actually :D

:lol:Yep I agree, Davydenko isn't the most thrilling player on the tour. I see what you mean when you're in a stadium and you're not interested in the match...once I had a similar experience, but it was Stepanek...you can hardly imagine how much he bored me. No for sure you can :p
You played with Robredo ! When was it, how was it ?
Coria retired, it doesn't actually bother me cos he's not my fav' player but it's annoying when a tournament loses its seeded players quite early in the competition.

you see couple of years ago when Robredo came and won his first tournament here, i think it was in 2001, there was a "Clinic" thing and i was one of the kids who played with him. it was funny coz we had a choice: whether you go and play with a 60 year old Argentinian tennis legend G. Villas OR a handsome, young Tommy Robredo. guess who i've chosen  earlier i also played with Jelena Dokic, Anke Huber and some more ;) now i'm too old for that ;)

btw Robredo lost yesterday with Florian Mayer from Germany. have you ever seen him playing?? he plays really distinctive tennis, it's great! he does every backhand like Puerta, you know hitting the ball in a jump. it's pretty spectacular :)

Ok, that was..ehm...harsh. I'm not a Davydenko fan but he's not that bad. I've seen him play many times over the last couple of years and he is capable to play very good tennis. He just has to have the right opponents. I once got the chance to speak to him for a bit and the guy was so nice, I always get sad when I see how people treat him. Yes, he's not the most thrilling player and he's not the most handsome but he works hard and he's a nice guy that should count for something too. I never thought he was a waste of my money but that is just my opinion.

I saw Robredo this year, playing the most funny double in Rosmalen, he was paired with Sanguinetti and they were joking all the time :D Next to that Tommy was flirting with every single female on the front row that was near his age  I was so glad to be sitting there, the guy is a lot of fun but they did lose, go figure. :)

well, okey maybe i said i little too much. but i couldn't help the boredom on his match. i guess it was also the second guy who sucked, but i was really unsatisfied by him. you know you hear a huge star is playing, you go on his match, and you can't concentrate on it at all, while a second ago some completely unknown players played amazingly.
i wasn't reffering to his personality or anything just to the way he played.

I guess I was a little harsh too..You are entitled to your own opinion. I guess I was just frustrated because I heard this about the guy so many times before and I feel bad for the guy. I didn't mean to offend you though, if you think that he's boring then by all means, go right ahead :D
And you are right, sometimes a top player does not give you a top match while average players can have you on the edge of your seat.

yeah, i know what you mean ;) oh, and you didn't offend me, don't worry, i'm a kind of person it's hard to offend  and you have the right to your own opinion as well.

i've seen some doubles matches today and i've gotta say that i don't really like the new system. it's the "no ad" thing and they don't play a third set at all - only a tie-break to 10 points. when i first went on a doubles match i didn't know what was going on! i think it's not fair to play so little, and all the old rules should be brought back. this new system is now everywhere except the Grand Slam tournaments.

I know, the new doubles system is pretty weird. I guess they tried to make the doubles game more interesting but I higly doubt that it's working. I also think it's a pity for the double specialists out there. All of a sudden they can't play long, exciting matches anymore except for the Grand Slams. On the other hand, I never watched doubles but I did see some doubles matches this year because I knew the match would not be that long, I guess that is what the ATP wanted to achieve.
In other news, Marat is in a semifinal!! I'm so happy for him, it's good to see him recover again and I hope he wins the tournament.

    PS: I'm glad I didn't offend you, Adzix ! :)

Has anyone seen Agassi play yesterday? Wonderful!!! I was dismayed when, in the 3rd set, he was losing 0-4, but he won 5 games in a row and won the set, and the match!

He's been my favourite player for years, and I'm sad he's retiring. But I understand that the body betrays you when you're getting older...

I saw some if it, he really pulled through and it would be good for him and the fans if he played a great tournament. I'm not really a fan myself but I know what it's like when you're favorite player retires. I still miss Pete!
I wish Andre well, I hope he manages to surprise everybody one more time.
On another subject, I hate the rain that is falling right now! It totally ruined my plans to watch Rafa play :( On television that is, I'm nowhere near New York. :)
