Re: Canadian Thread #5

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Hosers up there in Canada! I wish I were in Vancouver right now--not from there, but I love it up there and wish I did live there. All I can do down here in Houston is watch CTV and Hockey Night in Canada on my Grey Market Satellite Dish...

Take 'er easy!

Re: Canadian Thread #5

I see we have our new name up :) I'll start collecting the wood for the big campfire we'll be needing to keep us warm  Mind you today we certainly don't need any extra warmth. The temps here in the Toronto area are in the low 30C. Too too warm for this time of year. We've usually put the heat on to take the chill out of the air at night but this year we still have the air conditioner on. I really hate to think of what winter will be like.

Send some of that this way, Jaquie. It's cold and rainy in Manitoba.

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

it reached 40 with the humidex....my parents were finally forced to put the a/c on! It is the never ending summer here. the last 2 Christmas's were very vancouver, 5 degrees and raining...but i grew up there, so i don't like the really cold winters.

Does anyone else yell at the people on survivor for being so dumb? I do...the first episode, every single season the young people don't seem to think building a shelter is necessary!!

I don't even watch it  Can't stand it.

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

I haven't watched any of the reality shows. Quite honestly they don't seem to be real to me. How can you call voting someone off an island because they brought food with them real?

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

^I agree, Jacquie. I just don't understand the appeal of reality shows

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

Survivor has really had its day. They're on what? Season 20? I admit I watched a season or two, but it got old fast, and yeah, some of those people are just really really dumb.

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

nahhh...i have too many shows to watch...

I am embarrassed to admit i have seen all 14 seasons on survivor, they are on the 15th now....It is actually a great experiment in sociology. Also human stupidity. After 14 seasons, you would think they would figure out that building a shelter on the first day is important.

Also, 2 seasons ago 2 of the female contestants were in this fire building contest, and after about an hour with the flint they gave them matches. Then they took another half an hour with the matches  After 30 days they couldn't build a fire...that was pretty funny.

LOL....you've got that right!! Personally speaking, the show is just too monotonous. I'd like to see one where they have to survive the most northern tips of the Canadian Territories in the middle of winter.

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

Now that I'd watch  See how they like the -30C or worse weather

Re: Survivor? We Call It Camping - Canadian Thread #5

They need a Survivor Nunavut. Polar bears and all! They also need to have it during the dark half of the year :p I would watch it.
