Supernatural #3 - No Chick Flick Moments

I cracked up so much last night through this episode. I love this show!

I loved how ticked Dean got when he was told that the woman ghost scalped her own son. However, that turned out not to be true and it was the other little boys who did it. And she killed them for killing her son. It was so sad when the little boy asked them, "Why'd you send my mommy away?"

NickGregRyanFan - Rufus was introduced in the ep Time Is On My Side in season 3. He gave Dean the background info on Bella.

Last nights episode was awesome. Barnes and Damien were too cute, and Becky cracked me up once again. She has rather quickly become my fave character, Emily Perkins is amazing in anything she does. The Evil child were wickedly cool.

Something I was pondering: If the soul of one's vessel is still in there somewhere and they suddenly decide they don't want to a vessel anymore, would the angel have to vacate the person? I'm wondering about Lucifer's vessel.

Well I don't know it makes sense that if the person doesn't want to be a vessel anymore that they would have to leave. Then again maybe they just need them to agree intentially and then the 'vessel' won't have a choice after they agree. Once they say yes they can't change their minds later down the road is a reasonable assumption to IMO. Hope my rant made sense.

I think it's safe to assume that the vessel only has to give its consent in the beginning, and then consent is no longer necessary. I mean, when Castiel popped out of Jimmy, I could see that Jimmy had been pretty sick of being a vessel for a while before he was finally himself again.

Then again, there's also every possibility that the vessel's consciousness is put into a kind of deep hibernation while the angel is in the drivers seat. Jimmy said that he didn't remember a whole lot, right? Maybe he only remembers "bits and pieces" because he was in a consciousness coma, and only had the sense of being "chained to a comet" when he came out of his coma for a moment.

By the by, I was happily impressed with the episode last night. Though I think the children shouldn't've been directed to attempt the "evil smirk" (since, in my experience, children just can't fully pull it off) and I think the Batman voices used by fake!Sam&Dean got annoying after a while, otherwise it was actually pretty brilliant.

OH MY GOD, Chuck! Chuck!!! I heart him so very very much! And Becky, she's hilarious! I have to say, I reacted in exactly the same way as Becky when Chuck swooped in, swung that iron weapon like a freakin' warrior, and then went all bad-ass and commanding. Holy crap, SWOOOOOOON. And dude, Chuck/Becky... that pairing made me stupidly giggly.

There were a TON of funny moments, too, and they weren't all as uncomfortable as I thought they'd be! Hooray!

One more thing - I like that fake!Sam&Dean taught real!Dean a life lesson... and Dean actually looked contented and accepting for a short moment in the end, and it made me ridiculously happy. We don't see the boys smile like that anymore, so seeing Dean happy, if only for a moment, was outstanding.

Yeah, I just wondered if it was kind of like some vampire lores. You have to invite them in before they can come in and if you don't want them to be allowed in anymore, you uninvite them. I didn't figure it would work the same way with angels, but just wondered if maybe it might.

There is lore that says you can just univite a vampire in? Sorry random question I know. :p

I felt so sorry for Jimmy in that episode and his wife thought he was completly nuts. :(

I forgot about Jimmy not remembering much, but it makes you wonder why would anybody want to be a vessel? Espically if you have no idea what you did good or bad. I mean scary thought really.

Know what I wonder? How the douche angels got their vessels to consent. Did they lie, say "you're gonna do great things for humanity and for God"? Because obviously that's NOT how the vessels are being used. Think the vessels are pissed off that they've been used to start the Apocalypse? If that's the case, and I'm assuming it is, then I'd say that angels no longer need consent after they get it the first time... because if they DID need ongoing consent, I don't think any of the douche angels would be getting it!

Yeah I stand by my opinion that once you say yes you are SOL if you don't like being a vessel anymore. Even if they only remember very little while being a vessel I would think they would be pretty dang mad for the angels using their bodies to help start the apocolyspe and such.

OK so... I liked the episode, but I didn't love it. And I think the "jumping the shark" comment near the end was a nod from the writers about how close they were coming to that line.

Loved all the Sams and Deans- and all the freakin' Impalas! How cool did that look in the driveway! Whoh. I always love Chuck and he really shone last night. I realize the actual ghost story had to be a castaway plot since the convention was more of the focus, but I wish it could have been done a little better since I sometimes miss the old storylines. (Not a LOT better,though- just a little. ;) )

Becky... well... While I loved her in the first episode she appeared in, I found her to be just a little over the top this time around. She was sort of too ridiculous to be believed most of the time, so I started to just find her annoying pretty quickly. I thought everyone else was pretty hilarious and played to the right tone, however.

Plus, I totally loved the gruff voice stuff- I think someone in here mentioned that Dean's voice has gotten gruffer over the seasons at one point and I think that's totally true, so I was pretty much snorting with laughter when that rather robust fellow started doing his "Dean" voice. Plus their attempts to pull off the one-liners was cracking me up big time.

Anyway, overall I still laughed a lot and enjoyed myself, but I wouldn't say this episode is going down on the top 10 list or anything.

Not much to say, just stumbling in for a moment:
Yep fun epi, loved Chuck *cuddles little bad ass prophet*..... and Dean's reactions :guffaw:
Nice end with the talk about partners (*eg*) and Dean finally smiling again...

Did I hear right ??? demon named Crowley ??? now I want to read xome xovers with Good omens

Well, I think it happened on True Blood once.

I must have blinked and missed all the Impalas. I hated the gruff voice thing because the boys (especially Sam) do not talk like that unless they're possessed. It was was too dramatized and annoying.

But, you wanna know who the most annoying person in the ep was? That dude with the hook hand. I wanted to smack him. I was actually glad when he got killed. Bye bye annoyance. Who the heck was he supposed to be dressed as anyway? One of the pirates from The Fog?

Yeah, that German guy was a little over the top too, now that you mention it.

I think my favourite line was Dean when he referred to the poor little dead kid's "high and tight"! Classic. Especially when he smirked afterwards as if he thought he'd just made an excellent funny. (And he DID!) :)
