Supernatural #3 - No Chick Flick Moments

I'm watching 4x05, "Monster Movie", for the first time and it is all sorts of crazy awesome! I especially loved the X-Files reference... not only because, yeah, Sam & Dean ARE kind of like Mulder & Scully (except Sam & Dean do everything on their own dime), but because The X-Files also shot an episode completely in black & white. It was called The Post-Modern Prometheus and it was a modern retelling of, wait for iiiiiiiiiit... the story of Frankenstein. :D

By the way, I totally knew it was the lipstick chick way before the big reveal. Probably because TPTB intentionally focused on that seemingly insignificant detail of her lipstick on the napkin. Whenever that happens, it's OBVIOUSLY gonna come up later. That's part of the basic formula. If it seems stupid but they make the point of showing the audience... then it MEANS something.

Also, "re-hymenized"?!?!? I love Dean SO FREAKING MUCH! Then again, since I've been recently recruited into the Dean/Castiel fanclub, I'd much rather have him repop his cherry with a certain angel. :D

Well, the angel part is right... only it wasn't Cas.

Oh I know, I know... *grumble* That ex-angel red headed chick. :shifty:

Phooie on her.

Actually I have no idea if I'll like her or not because so far I've only read a character bio for her. But... ah, whatever. I know the Dean/Cas ship is very far from canon so I can't really complain when the characters do what they do, not what I want them to do. Don't ask me what I want them to do... this is a PG-13 board.

Oh, and now I'm watching the Yellow Fever episode... gotta say, haven't spent so much time laughing hysterically at one episode of a TV show for a while. Paranoid!Dean = comedy freaking gold. NOW I finally understand that SPN outtake with Jensen screaming like a little girl, running around the room and then leaping into Jared's arms!

Stick with it, Colonel Worf. It only gets better. :)

I guess I'll rewatch the season premiere tonight. I've got nothing better to do. ;)

Welcome to the bunch, Colonel Worf. (And glad to see another Fringe fan ;))

Hmpf. I feel like I'm detoxing. We usually get together on Friday to watch SPN, and now we were kinda.. bummed out. Please tell me there's a new episode next week, I can't keep entertaining them with the SPN quotes I know by heart

^ Haha. :p

I usually watch SPN with one of my best friends because friday is the only day I have a little free time, but no Supernatural this week so my friend just decided to stay home to do her homework. :( Dang it, no fun. Maybe I'll go see if I can make some other friend a fan tonight..

Anyone an idea on what ep would be best for that? :D I was thinking Yellow Fever, but maybe that's a little too far in the series.. Hm. Bloody Mary?

And by the way, who does homework on a fridaynight? :wtf:

I like the ep where Dean kept dying and Tuesdays kept repeating itself... but if you want a freaky episode then yeah, Bloody Mary is probably the best one for that. :)

haha, I never did homework on Fridays when I was in school. I almost always waited until Sunday night.

^^ Mystery Spot. A very good episode. :D

You can also never go wrong with Hell House or Ghostfacers. Those were the two that got me started

Bloody Mary is freaky, but so is Asylum. And Provenance. :D

My friend started to really like the show when he saw "Faith". He said that was the first episode that stood out and made him want to carry on watching.

I've decided to go with Tall Tales, Croatoan and Asylum. :D I really love those, and I bet my friend will like them too. :p

I chose a friend who generally falls for guys with blonde hair or are tall  What can go wrong? :p

Pumpkin, I love your icon. Nice close up on Misha... I like. :)

I just saw the episode Yellow Fever and it was holy-crap-I'm-gonna-die-laughing hilarious, but I think you're right to show your friend a few more episodes so that they can get a hold on the characters. That way it's even funnier when you see Dean shriek like a little girl at the sight of a cat and tear through the streets as fast as he can because a toy dog with a bow is gonna kill him!

Hey... so far I've made it through 6 episodes in season 4. Castiel has shown up in about 4 of them, but usually right at the tail end - he flutters in to say something cryptic in a gravelly voice and then zaps back out. When does his part become more substantial? I know that there's a "Very Misha Episode" coming up in which we find out about Castiel's vessel, but... other than that, any Cas-heavy installments?

^^ It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester has a bit of him. On the Head of a Pin has a lot of Cas, too. He gets more screen time more toward the end of the season. :D

Sneak Peek at next Friday's episode right here :D

The Curious Case of Dean Winchester

Sam: "It's like watching Grumpy Old Men."
Bobby and Dean: "Shut up, Sam!"

The end is freaking priceless!

Bobby & Dean: SHUT UP, SAM!!

*giggles*

Want new SPN now! Give it me, give it me!

(See, this is what happens when I first get into a show... I throw myself into it headlong)
