Spoilers For Season 3-You've Been Warned!

Heck no! If she seriously does stand him up I think she's absolutely insane! (That is, unless she has a REALLY good excuse!)

I didn't start the fake rumor, I just ran with it.

Re: the 'dinner date,' here's what I got from tvguide.com about the episode entitled "Love Runs Cold" (it's episode number 3 if I'm not mistaken):

Mac and Stella work on the case of a marathon runner who dies during a race in Central Park. They discover that the victim was poisoned and had frostbite on his face, even though the temperature outside is in the 90s. Across town, Danny and Lindsay investigate the murder of a 23-year-old model, the face of a promotional campaign to launch a new brand of vodka, after she is stabbed to death during a party. Also, Danny gets upset with Lindsay when she stands him up for a dinner date.

 Sorry, not impressed. You work together, in this very episode, so frickin' keep it professional. I suppose they're standing over the dead body and he's all 'hey Lindsay, wanna go out?'--how appropriate. Would Mac seriously be okay with two of his CSIs in a relationship? Doubtful--not that the writers are likely to let a little detail like that stop them, they've ignored character traits before, despite the fact that they themselves created the characters. But either way, I suppose this is the catalyst for whatever Danny says/asks in the next episode regarding their feelings for each other.

Don't know if we've seen all of these or not, but here are the episode names for 2-7 (I know I've seen most of them ;)) according to tv.com:
2. Not What It Looks Like
3. Love Run Cold
4. Hung Out To Dry
5. Oedipus Hex
6. Open and Shut
7. Murder Sings the Blues

Yeah, they'll probably end the episode with Danny sitting there alone, looking like he did in "RSRD" when Louie got hurt. He didn't seem all that upset when Flack had a copier dropped on him, but I'm sure he'll be totally devastated about being stood up. (And that wasn't meant to be an insult to what you said, chelliyah, just my opinion. ;))

I have to say, I'm kind of surprised that they seem to have decided that Danny is the one actively pursuing the relationship, considering that I felt it was the opposite last season. Not-so-subtle questions about Danny and Aiden being 'close' in the burnt-out car, anyone?...

Edit: Here are the episode descriptions for "Love Run Cold" and "Hung Out to Dry" from the futon critic.

Also, the Spike TV premiere will be on October 1st, just in case anyone's keeping an eye out. ;)

hey we are here for our opinions arent we?! lol
i take nothing as offensive unless i know it is meant to be lol
i do see where you are coming from tho.. although i do think that when the "copier dropped on flack" as you say (lol i love the way you word things!) i think that danny lindsey n hawkes knew that mac and stella were there to keep an eye out and would tell them asap if nething happened. i know that danny should have stayed, but maybe he went back after he took lindsey home lol
jus my view :D

Good to know I didn't offend you without meaning to. ;) Actually, I never mean to offend people, but alas, it happens occasionally. :(

Yeah, I've got my own shippy ideas about what happened after the show, but that's for another forum. :p

I'm curious about how much the fans are going to be able to look into the t-shirt thing from "Hung Out To Dry"...is it meant to be an ongoing storyline, perhaps? They said that Edward Furlong was meant to be in several episodes, right? Also, does it look to anyone else like the whole team will be working on one case? At the beginning of the description, it says "Mac and Stella" but then it says "the team" later on, and it doesn't mention another case. Maybe a second murder that's connected into the same case as the one Mac and Stella are doing?

I hope that the writers aren't reverting to the same-old-thing with the Mac-Stella and Danny-Lindsay groupings in each episode with poor Hawkes jumping back and forth as the third wheel.

Anyway, re: the 'step son' thing--I could see Peyton having a kid, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It wouldn't make him Mac's 'step son' but that could be what was intended. Of course, if she's only going to be in a few episodes, having her son come in is overkill, don't you think? How much time are they going to devote to Mac's relationship outside work if they're going to have a woman and her kid?

Honestly, I hope that the Mac/Peyton thing will at least fade off-screen after the four episodes we already know about, or whatever. I'm glad Mac is uncomfortable working with his girlfriend (it makes sense for the character, after all), even if it's not as much of a big deal as if he were dating another CSI. But I suppose we'll see...

It's possible we won't even have a scene with him waiting around for her. I personally don't want one of those scenes, Danny would look like a lost puppy or something. He could just mention it - like a "where were you last night..?" - to her the next time he sees her.

Yeah, hopefully it'll just be a 'what happened?' mention. But personally, I wish it just wasn't happening to begin with. I'm very supportive of ships outside of the show, but when it comes to the show itself, no thanks. I might not like Danny/Lindsay, but I have nothing against it (or the people who follow it)--until it starts to interfere with the show. Watching the premiere and seeing just how packed it was with characters and everything, I just don't see how D/L could seamlessly fit into the show. *headdesk*

I've got more info about the step-son thing, it is true from what I know. The kid is born when Claire was very young (HS) and got pregnant accidentally with someone else. And Claire gave him to adpotion agency or sth, never meet again. The kid (now a teenager) got Claire's address in NY and stalked Stella as he saw Stella once came out of Mac's apartment and thought she was Claire....Until Mac confronted him. They talked a bit, and there is a really sad and emotional moment when Mac described what Claire looked like to the kid. But the kid refused to remain contact with Mac and took off.

oh wow.. where did you get this from?
its strange, cause when you used to hear Mac talk about claire, you kinda got the impression that they were a very open and honest couple and that they had no secrets to hide. i mean thats jus MO, but i couldnt see something like claire having a son and not being able to mention it to mac.
alas we shall soon find out tho eh?!

FAYLINN lol aww well i guess sometimes it is hard when you are writing things for people to understand what you mean without gettin uptight about it lol but you jus have to allow it dont ya! lol
but i agree that trhe danny lindsey being stood up thing shouldnt end with him sitting there and waiting.. although i would like to see danny for like a whole entire 2 minutes.. maybe 3 minutes.. oh wat the heck make it 5!! or maybe he could just call her at the end and she can explain.

Saw it from somewhere else. and sorry if I didn't summrize this clearly. Mac knew this from the very beginning, so when the kid asked Stella about Claire Sullivan, Mac knew immediately it was him. Mac told the kid that his biological father was Claire's HS sweetheart (so sad I always think Mac was her HS sweetheart, anyway) and Claire'd been taking about him all the time, about finding him when he turns 18, apparently she didn't get the chance.

Believe me La Guera I have the same wish.. :)

Initially I thought this plot was rediculous but now I think it can work out that way. Hope so.

Well, Mac's always been pretty good with kids, but I'm not sure how he'll be with a teenage boy, Especially if the kid rebuffs him. If (Big IF) it's handled well by the writers (and by the actors), it could end up being a very poignant scenario, especially for Mac. I wanted some more character development, and that would definitely fit the bill, I think.

That said... the "long lost teenager comes home to roost" is pretty hackneyed, I have to admit. Especially a surly unresponsive teenage boy. It's very different from Horatio's scenario with Ray Jr. & Madison, he's known them pretty much all along (well, Ray Jr., anyway) so I don't really consider it a copycat thing with that one. I just hope that the writers think long and hard before this implementing this one. Done the right way, it could really work, for me (once again, rose-tinted glasses perched firmly on my nose) but done the wrong way, it could be a real eye-roller.
