When Gil was tucking Emma into bed. Emma looked at him and said “daddy, have you guys thought of some names?”
“We have two full names but honey I want your input on the last one”
“What are you guys having?”
“1 boy and 2 girls. Finlay Holden Grissom & Elizabeth Sara Jessica Grissom”
“They are good names. Daddy the youngest girl is to be named Ryan Stella Grissom”
“I like it. Sleep well sweetheart” Gil lent forward and kissed Emma’s forehead before turning off her light and heading down stairs.
Gil reached the bottom of the stairs when he caught a glimpse of his 15-year-old son in a lip lock with a Miss Lindsey Willows.
He just brushed it off and thought to himself that he would sit Aaron down and have the talk.
He smirked as he saw Sara with her feet up on the outdoor lounge set while talking to Catherine.
Nick had Cruz in his arm looking like a natural father; Warrick had taken Blaze from Greg.
By his next birthday he would be 45 with a 16-year-old son, 2 years old son and triplets as well as Emma who was 22 and a grandfather of 1 boy.
“Gil what’s with the smirk?” Brass said handing Gil a glass of whisky.
“I’m worried about Emma but my son is growing up” Gil replied
“Yeah he’s got a crush on Lindsey. I noticed it too”
“Emma’s not right. I know I shouldn’t be worried but I am”
“Gil you have every right to be worried. Emma hardly touched her food, Greg doesn’t look very worried and I mean he is her fiancé”
“He’s got to get up whenever Little Blaze wakes up during the night”.
Sara saw Gil having fun with the boys after disappearing into the house.
“Sara what are you guys having?” Catherine said sweetly
“We know and we have come up with 2 names so far. Emma was to choose the last. 1 boy and two girls”.
“Sara can you keep a secret?” Catherine asked as both Aurora & Dawn sat down.

“Of course” all three of them said.
“Warrick & I have been talking about having some more children. Well having a baby & I found out a few days ago that I’m 5 weeks gone. Lindsey’s going to have a baby sister or brother soon.”
“Oh Cath that’s so cool. So that’s why you’re drinking OJ.”
Across in the deck the boys talked.
“So guys do you want to play truth or dare?” Gil said.
“Oh yeah” the guys said.
Greg smiled and said, “Who goes first?”
“Well let’s go clockwise. So Jim truth or dare?”
“Truth”
“Do you have any of children apart from Ellie?” Gil asked knowing the truth.
“Yes. I have a son who would be about 38 years old now. My Girlfriend at the time died in childbirth and I was young and decided to put him up for adoption. Warrick, truth or dare?”
“Dare”
“I dare you to talk up to Catherine. Kiss her and walk back here like a duck”.
Warrick passed Cruz to Gil and did his dare. The guys laughed at the girls’ surprised faces.
Gil and Nick put the boys into their outdoor cots. So the guys could continue to play.
“Theo since you are the youngest here. Truth or dare?” Warrick said
“Truth.” Theo said looking at everyone.
“Have you ever gone passed 2nd base with anyone?”
“Since Chris isn’t here I can answer that. Yes I have and James you know Kane. He’s my boyfriend”
“My little brother’s gay!” James was shocked.
“James I’m bi-sexual. I like boys and girls. James, truth or dare?” Theo said
“Truth.”
“What is the best car have you ever worked on?”
“Ever. That would have to be an Evolution 7 with the works. Mm Texas, truth or dare?” James said
“Truth & it’s Nick”
“How many family members do you have? Extended family included?”
“I have both parents, 1 older brother, 6 older sisters. 3 brother-in-laws, 9 nieces, 3 nephews. 1 great nephew and a little girl”
The last bit shocked everyone except for Brass.
“Nicky how is Shani?” Brass asked
“She’s staying with mom and sisco until my next vacation break when I’ll be in my new place.”
“Nick your next vacation is in a month. How are you coping?” Gil said
“I ring every day. Shit today I haven’t rung yet; I’ll do it when we finish. She rings me every so often.”
“Nick if you ever need some extra shifts before Shani gets here for some extra cash just tell me and I’ll give them to you. Who’s next?”
“That would be Gregory. Truth or dare?” Nick said
“It’s greggers actually. Dad’s idea & Truth”
“Are you and Ems planning to extend the family?” nick asked.
“Yes but we’re waiting until Blaze is 3. Harper’s turn, little brother truth or dare?”
“Truth but by the way Warrick I’m only 12 & Aaron aint here”
Just then a voice said, “Yes I am and why are you guys playing truth or dare?”
Aaron sat down between Harper and his dad.
Gil turned to his oldest son and said, “It’s my idea. Now you have sat down you’re playing too. Go ahead Greg ask your question”
Greg went ahead and asked a question that the parents didn’t know “Have you ever done something that neither mom or dad know?”
“Last year I failed 3 classes. But I still passed my year. Math, science and Gym. Since Aaron is play. Aaron truth or dare?”
“Dare.”
“I dare you to go kiss Lindsey passionately,” Harper said
Everyone watched the guys smirked until Catherine pulled them apart and slapped Aaron before sending him back with a message. Which scared him.
“Son what did Catherine say to you?”
“She said if I ever kiss her daughter like that again. She’ll make sure I never have children”
Every of the guys faces changed and their hands covered their groans apart from Harper & Theo who were too young to know why.
Warrick was the one who spoke “Ouch low blow. If you actually have some interest in Lindsey I can talk to Catherine for you”
“Thanks Warrick. Dad truth or dare?”
“Truth” gil replied
“ Two Questions. If you and mom had been together when I was born would I have gone to St Joseph’s? Does Grandma hear anything at all?”
“Yes you would have gone to St Joseph’s if we were together. And it wasn’t until I was 25 did my mom, your grandma started to go deaf. My grandmother was deaf when my mother was 15.”
Aaron decided at that moment that he would book an appointment with a doctor first thing in the morning.
Gil and Greg disappear with Cruz & Blaze inside and returned 15 minutes later when the groups had joined together.
“Aaron I’ve been thinking” Gil said to his son sitting down next to Sara.
“What dad?”
“How would you like to go to Grad school next semester?”
“That’s like in 2 weeks. Do you have a school in mind?”
“Buttterfield Academy. I’m going into see the dean tomorrow, would you like to come?”
“Of course. Dad can use kids go play catch?”
“Go.” Gil said as Aaron ran up to his room to get a ball and bat.
When he got back down Theo & Harper were out in the yard.
They were out playing ball until it went dark. Aaron pitched the last ball and Harper hit it straight towards the house. Aaron called up to the house “Someone catch it.”
But it was too late; it crashed through the kitchen window.
Aaron looked up at his mom, she didn’t look happy.
“Mommy I’m sorry it’s just with my pitching arm you never know where the batter will hit it. I’ll clean it up I promise.”
“Not kidding. You will also be learning how to fix a window.”
“Mom I already know. Uncle Chris made me learn when I broke 4 windows in 4 months.”
James laughed and spoke “That’s why Chris got you into baseball at St James Academy.”
Warrick asked, “How fast can you pitch? I used to be a batter when I was younger”
“115mph. I was in the varsity team.”

Chapter 21
Aaron woke up to the sound of someone vomiting down the hall.
He looked at his alarm clock; 0615.
He got up, got in his running gear and headed down the hall to find Emma vomiting into her toilet.
“Em you okay?”
“Yeah just finished I think. Where you going?”
“morning run. Dad’s taking me to look at grad schools in about 3 hours.”
“good luck”
“you too. I hope your okay!”
emma went down stairs and opened the fridge to get the ginger beer out before pouring herself a cup.
Her mobile rang at 0705; Aaron wasn’t back yet.
“Emma Grissom Speaking?”
“Ms Grissom it’s Dr Flynn”
“Dr flynn are the results back?”
“They are. May I ask one question? When was your last period?”
“May 18th. Why?”
“The blood work came back. And what you have just told me is, well Ms Grissom. You’re pregnant & the level isn’t normal. It’s high, when it high it means multiples”
“I’m pregnant. More than one baby”
“Yes. Can I ask a personal question?”
“Sure if I get to ask you one?”
“Are you related to Dr Gil Grissom?”
“I’m his oldest daughter. Are you Lily Flynn’s oldest daughter?”
“Yes I’m. how do you know my mom?”
“She’s dating my grandfather/next door neighbour. Thanks doc”
“It’s Nancy by the way. Look after you self and I’ll see you in 3 weeks for your first scan”
Emma hung up and headed to the lounge to think.
She curled up on the couch and ran her hand over her tummy.
And cried herself to sleep
Gil walked down stairs expecting to be the only one up but when he reached the kitchen, he found the ginger beer on the bench and when he looked over to couch. The coffee table had a half empty glass and a phone on it meant someone was up.
He walked around to the couch to find his daughter asleep on the couch with a tear covered face.
He noticed where Emma’s hands were and thought to himself shit she’s pregnant.
Just then he heard the door open and in walked his son shirtless and sweaty.
Aaron noticed his dad was standing over his sleeping sister.
“dad” aaron said quietly holding up a notepad.
He passed the note to his father, Gil read the note.
Dr Flynn’s office. 3weeks first scan
“damn she’s pregnant” they both said at the same time.
“Just keep it quiet you two” the voice from the couch said
“Ladybug why?”
Emma sat up and took the pad away from them.
“I will tell everyone including Greg when I know the babies are safe”
“you just said babies right!” Gil said sitting down next to emma and held her.
“Multiples is all Dr Flynn said. Can we not talk about this? I have a meeting with the sheriff at lunch. I have to get ready.” She said hugging her father and smirking at her brother.
