thanks gregnickryanfan... i cant believe he is leaving i would like to see peter gallagher in the role tho... dont think that marg should be promoted... keppler would have been a good full time regular replacement but he was killed off lol

From this week's Ask Ausiello:

Question: Can you give me a CSI: Miami Scoop? -- Bryan
Ausiello:
Would you settle for something on the mothership? 'Cause I was just combing through the transcript from my month-old exit interview with William Petersen and stumbled upon this tasty little morsel: Turns out, a dream scenario existed that might have kept Petersen on CSI. Unfortunately, it died two years ago with Liev Schreiber's character. You see, had the show kept Keppler alive, Petersen (only half-jokingly) said he and Schreiber "could have swapped every four months. He does a play, I do CSI. I do a play, he does CSI. It would've been like a professional relationship between two scientists that go off on field trips and sabbaticals and then come back. But I don't know that the network would have wanted that." All of this begs the question: What the hell else is in that transcript?!

I know that quote is on the Region 1 DVD special features for season 7. I think it was a featurette called "The Evolution of Season 7" where they were talking about the whole Keppler thing.

I really wish they'd kept him alive, or spun out his storyline differently so that he could have come back as a recurring character, especially if Petersen was planning to leave. Oh well.

I agree cjack 87. There was something about his character that caught my attention. Shame they had to go and kill him =/

indeed kimbo08 there was something about him that just made csi a bit better... in a way he was even better than grissom (wierd i know dnt h8 me for it ppl i just think he was)

Killing the character of Keppler off was the actor's choice, if I recall. He didn't want to be on more eps. Too bad, cause he was great.

I guess I am one of the few who did not care too much for Keppler. I was glad he was killed off. I think they can find another good replacement.

it has to be peter gallagher all the othe rnames mentioned just wouldnt be kinda ryt for the part (if u know what i mean) all those who think peter gallagher should be next in give me a hell yeah lol

Raises hand~ he was beyond boring and mumbled and had a flat monotone voice, a awful actor & odd looking to boot! he resembled an ant-eater! that nose, plus, didn't connect what-so-ever with any of the team but perhaps Cath, and I was cheering when he got nuked, thank gawd, he's gone:rolleyes: After watching him in one ep. I never taped them while he was on, yawn/snooze... and was so thrilled when Grissom returned! & I think Michael Keaton, would be great, but they seem to have their eye on Fishburne:confused:

I loved Keppler!! I would have been thrilled to see him join the show.

And I was also very impressed how well the show did without Grissom, it gave the others a chance to shine..so nice..so..rare..but..so..nice....

See, I thought just the oposite. He was dark, brooding and mysterious. And handsome. Much better looking then Petersen (but that's not why I watch the show) I really liked his storyline, and the way he was starting to connect with the whole lab, Nick in particular. It would have been cool to see what he could have done in more than four episodes.

I agree that Laurence Fishburne may not be the best choice to replace Grissom, but Micheal Keaton? All I can think of is "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" three times fast. That and "I'm Batman."

Once again, to each his own:rolleyes: on Michael Keaton he can play anything like WP. dark roles to light comedy, like "Pacific Heights" a psycho, "Live From Baghdad" as a intense reporter, "White Noise" who talked to his supposdly dead wife, and the hilairous "Mr. Mom" and "Batman" as well, but whoever TPTB pick I hope it's someone, who has the powerful presence as Grissom, no one can really top him, I just hope as reported he comes back for many "guest spots"

I like Keppler too. I didn't like the backstory that intruded on every episode, but I guess there will always be something intruding. But he fit in well right away, I thought.

How about Tommy Lee Jones?? :D
