'MadTV's' Bryan Callen Heading to 'CSI' (Exclusive)

Bryan Callen is returning to CBS.

The MadTV alum who guest starred as Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) Goliath National Bank colleague Bilson on CBS' How I Met Your Mother, will guest star in a November episode of the long-running CBS procedural.

Callen will play Mr. Oxford, an arrogant guy with a chip on his shoulder. He's further described as a self-made man, a financial entrepreneur with plenty of swagger who is a major patron of the basketball team D.B. Russell's (Ted Danson) son is part of but isn't happy when the coach regards him as just another annoying fan.

He's slated to appear in the sixth episode of upcoming 13th season, scheduled for Nov. 7.

In addition to MadTV and HIMYM, the Innovative-repped actor's credits also include In Plain Sight, Californication and Death Valley.

CSI returns Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. on CBS.

Ann in Salt Lake City: Original CSI spoilers, if you got them.

Elisabeth Harnois tells us that the new season of CSI is going to put us through the wringer, emotionally. "So my father is left on the brink of death in the end of last season. We find out what happens to him and I get resolution with that relationship," she says. "Ted's granddaughter is kidnapped, so that gets resolved. And we kind of revisit cases that have been near and dear to the fans' hearts. Certain characters that were killed in past seasons, we kind of revisit their storylines. So there is a lot of weaving. The theme I think is weaving in all our personal lives with the procedure. And that makes it very personal and emotional for all of us, which is cool."

For whoever wants and can get it, the episode of The Insider with those interviews done last month (or so?) will air tomorrow night.

----------
Episode 8 will be starting pre-production soon (tomorrow?) and Jeff Hunt will be directing.

(I'm putting this here because they do a little more than Just Karma to Burn.)

The Insider with Ted, George, Lisa Shue, & Elizabeth Harnois just click on play. :)

Well, hopefully they're telling the truth. Have they promised before and then didn't do it? I know stuff's got ignored on the shows (I'm looking at the NY writers and Louie's story). Her eps weren't my faves, (still have never watched Hollywood Brass) but an update would be nice.

Notice they kept Nick out of the preview for next week? They must want to up the suspense for those who weren't spoiled...we know he's staying.

Episode 8 is titled CSI on Fire. Was story by Carol Mendelsohn and Richard Catalani and directed by Jeff Hunt.

ETA: This is the Finn episode. There are 8 young women in a new mass grave in the desert and Finn figures out that at least one of them was a victim of a serial killer from Seattle named Tom Cooley who is (of course) a nemesis of hers.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Episode 13.08 "CSI on Fire"

Director: Jeffrey Hunt
Writers: Carol Mendelsohn, Richard Catalani & Thomas Hoppe

STORY LINE: When the decomposed bodies of eight young women appear in a newly made mass grave in the Nevada desert, Finley quickly realizes that one of the women--and presumably the other seven--is a victim of her long-time nemesis, Seattle serial killer Tom Cooley.

I got really excited when I saw Carol was writing a story (she's done a lot of my favourites from the past) but it looks like that her talent's being wasted on a Finn story. Bleargh... :shifty:

Oh I think Carol will do a great job with Finley's character ;)

I'm excited to have a closure to the Seattle case

CSI 13.08:

CAPTAIN ROBINSON is a Seattle police detective and also Finlay's ex-husband, who knows she's back in Seattle to cause trouble for a man linked to the bodies in a Nevada mass grave. Robinson has learned to handle Finlay delicately while still maintaining control, and though he admires her tenacity, he's wary of her hot-headedness. Robinson works side by side with Finlay to bring in serial killer Tom, and in the process it's clear the two still have feelings for each other.

Is this going to be an episode entirely in Seattle with Finn and "callbacks" to the lab for a glimpse or two of the others?
