Jorja Fox will be back for the first 5 episodes of CSI.
I thought they were supposed to be non-consecutive episodes (which means they don't follow each other in order). Now they're consecutive? :wtf: I'm  :(

Yeah, I thought so too, but this is apparently what Nina Tassler said..
"Nick is going to get promoted. Sara is coming back for the first five episodes. You're going to see Fishburne more settled in his role -- a more leadership capacity. He's more versed in the langauge of 'CSI' ... he's had a little bit of a wardrobe makeover .. our research said they wanted to see him more comfortable in his clothes. We think they're going to be happy with what they see."

After the panel, Tassler elaborated that Fishburne would wear his glasses less often and wear more comfortable-looking clothes.

Nina says "CSI" will have more of the team together.
People had problems with his wardrobe, really? Hmm. As for Nick, I'm confused too!

Catherine promotes Nick early in the season!

Nick fans can rejoice. :)

Promotes Nick to what? He's already in second position to be acting supervisor when Cath's away. It's great that he gets a promotion though. I'm just confused about what it is.

I second that confusion. There's nowhere for him to be promoted to!

Unless Cath officially makes him co-supervisor (with Ecklie's approval of course) like she was to Grissom. That's the only thing I can figure.

His wardrobe was the least of my problems where the character is concerned. I've never heard any fans here at this site complain about his wardrobe. It was always that he got too much screentime at the expense of the original remaining characters. And about the glasses: NOOOO! I liked him wearing the glasses because I didn't think of Morpheous (and the horrible way that stupid trilogy ended). Now without the glasses, I'm gonna be constantly reminded of that crappy ending. Thanks a lot ptb! :( What the heck is wrong with tptb anyway? Do the ptb at CBS have some sort of prejudice against people with glasses? First Danny on NY and Sheldon on NY is without his glasses quite a bit more now and now Ray. :(

Rock on for Nick getting promoted :) We got to see him make CSI III, this is a good progression for him!
Nick was already a Level III. He's been one since season one:wtf:. He was promoted ahead of Warrick and well ahead of Sara.

What do only the Nick fans know this?

Viscious'. Seriously?
Now I'm convinced we are watching different shows.

Remember cough drops. He needed one and she gave him attitude.

In the finale, when she congratulated him for his 'almost promotion' he simply responded, "Boy that must have been very hard for you, Sara."

So yeah, she was viscious.

But let's move on this season.

^I think Nick is already co-supervisor.

I'm hoping they aren't taking the wardrobe seriously. I mean, honestly, that's the least of my worries. Develop his character just a bit more and he'll be fine. I thought he was more interesting in the suit--Mac Taylor wears them in CSI: NY, yet on CSI, they find suits at crime scenes inappropriate.

I don't think it's the suit that the issue, it's ties. Langston found that out when his tie touched the dead body in The Grave Shift

Mac Taylor wore them (not sure if he still does) on CSI: NY.

Maybe Nick gets promoted to a shift supervisor; maybe it's not about being promoted to a level III CSI, which he already is (I think most hardcare CSI fans know this, whether or not they're obsessed with CSI). Maybe Nick finally has a love -- isn't it time???!!! -- and wants to work days. I dunno. A girl can dream...

As for Ray's wardrobe, I agree with what vegaslights said; putting him in different clothes isn't where the focus should be. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Cath would have NO authority to give him the supervisory position of another shift. Only Ecklie has that power. Cath could only promote him in the shift which she supervises. And I would NEVER want Nick switching shifts again. Like the team needs to be split up again. No way. Nick, Greg and Cath need to continue to work the same shift, period.

And why would a love interest require Nick to switch shifts? Unless said love interest works in the lab, there would be no need. All of the other characters who have had outside love interests do fine without a shift change. So why couldn't Nick? Eric said that the show was going to focus more on the forensics and less on the personal drama... so that in my mind would mean no love interests for any of them.

About Ray- He doesn't need more character development really. We already know more about him personally than we do about some of the originals. The problem where Ray is concerned is that he gets too much of the screentime at the expense of the originals and that is where most of the people who complain about the character have the problem. if they want their 'star' in all scenes, fine but at least put him in the majority of those scenes with other regulars so that they get a decent amount of screentime as well. They do that then maybe those fans who are opposed to the character will be more satisfied. I know I would feel better.

Tassler says that the show's attempt to slowly bring Langston into the team might have backfired.

Uh, that would be because you didn't do anything slowly when it came to Langston. Duh! That's why it backfired. Are tptb really that dense and out of touch with the fanbase? Come on! And what fans wanted to see him in a take charge capacity? I've never seen that particular complaint. I think they're making this up to try to justify giving him even more scenes. The ratings started slipping after Mascara which was a heavy Ray ep. You mean to tell me that they actually think its because of his wardrobe or something as superficial as that?

As for Nick, I don't think he's officially co-supervisor. He's just next in line after Cath so naturally when she's away, he is acting supervisor. Just as Cath was once acting supervisor when Grissom wasn't there ("Jackpot" and "Gumdrops" comes to mind), but wasn't officially titled as such. So maybe Cath is going to give Nick the official title of co-supervisor.

Just a quick comment about the cough drops: I think the reason Sara wouldn't give Nick one was because she didn't want to run out and she needed them to cover the alcohol on her breath.

Bolding is mine. The poster said GOT which means past tense. I believe they meant that we actually got to see Nicky make level III and now he's getting promoted again.

And no comment on the Sara being vicious...

Maybe viscious was a strong word, more like she's the swimmer with the fancy suit that wound up splitting (her relationship with Grissom), while Nick is the Michael Phelps who stuck with his MO and kicked butt in the end..

Sara - this pic is episode 10-2 (according to DLA's twitter page) and she's supposedly (I believe I read somewhere) already filmed episode 10-1, so that puts to question how right the non-consecutive episodes we were told earlier was. (Sounds like the left hand isn't talking to the right hand over there at CBS!)

Nick - (trying to think this through so bear with me) Catherine was made a supervisor in Mea Culpa. When the team was put back together after Grave Danger did she revert back to a regular ole level 3 or did she stay a supervisor? If she stayed a supervisor with Grissom then there is a chance that Nick could be made co-supervisor with Catherine. It's either that or that Lead CSI position is back and he's getting it for real this time.

Langston - I haven't heard anyone complain about him being uncomfortable in his clothes. The main complaint I've heard is that he's not acting like a level 1 (and his screentime! :shifty:). And him having more of a leadership role isn't going to help him act like a level 1. I swear they should have just come out and said that Langston is replacing Grissom! :(

Another thought about Nick's promotion: Maybe it's a new position altogether... one we've never heard of in the CSI verse.

Cath stayed supervisor with Grissom when the team was put back together. And it is possible that Cath is going to officially give Nick the co-supervisory position. But, the Lead CSI position is also possible.

Exactly! Langston was the one people were complaining had TOO MUCH character development for a newbie. Never saw anyone complain that they wanted him to be more in charge. That is what tptb want, not the fans. And you're right, they should have just put him in the supervisor position if that's what they wanted instead of having the character come in and be a level 1. I like him at a Level 1, I like him learning the ropes. It's refreshing. But, they took that away too soon. And I don't want to see him in charge. I like Cath in charge followed by Nick and then Greg. And I never saw anyone mention Ray's wardrobe one way or another except for something like "his tie was ugly", but there are many guys in the CSI verse that very thing is said about. Mostly Frank on Miami and Flack on NY.

What the heck are they going to do in terms of low numbers of CSIs once Sara leaves? They'll only have 4 CSIs. Cath, Nick, Greg and Ray. That isn't enough. They better have Wendy be a CSI like she wanted to! Or at least add Wendy to the credits with Marg and the others. It's stupid to have only one female in the main cast (in terms of the opening credits with the theme song). None of the CSIs have EVER done that. they've always had at least two.
