I think the main reason people are against homosexuality is the health risks involved. That's if you leave out the conservative folk.

Health risk? Where's homosexuality a health risk?
I assume you're referring to AIDS because I can't think of anything else. And that is not a "gay desease" as many seem to think. It can happen to anyone who doesn't protect themself.

Ouh..my parents can't be gay. More than 20 years of marriage and they seem content. Well, if they were anyway.

If dad was gay, I won't condemn him but I would question him on why he wasn't all supportive of homosexuality and then he suddenly is a gay himself. Pretty weird ain't it?

If mom was gay, I won't shun her. She's a wonderful and amazing woman and I'm the closest to her :D. We hang out often and if she were to like a woman, I would just hug her and wish her all the best.

But uh....of course, it would be terribly awkward. And I've known my folks for 18 years and they've never really shown any deep interests towards their own gender :).

Strange question but good discussion topic I guess..

Yeah actually AIDs is what I was talking about. Yes anyone who doesnt protect themselves can get it but it is mostly common among gay people.

Then again, scientists have fed us all loads of lies over the years so who knows.

Actually, AIDS is most common among uneducated people in the 3rd world countries, but that's beside the point.
It's true though that AIDS is very wide spread among gay (male) popularity. But that doesn't mean everyone who's gay will automatically come into contact with it one day. It's also a (very sad) fact though that many people seem to believe that.
In the 80's (I think) when knowledge about the desease was still sparse it was even referred to as the "gay-fever". That shows how prejudice works its way through society, even though nowadays children are being taught about it they still grow up saying "I'm not in any danger, I don't f*** a**"
    It's tragic, really.

New thread. That's cool. I agree, the title sounds a bit strange, we need something more joyful.
How about "The Great Queer Debate" (I've always preferred queer to gay) or "Let's talk gay"
    Just a suggestion...

Do we wait for anyone else's opinion/suggestion or do we just start the new thread?
