Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

A heads up for you guys, tonight and next thursday The Office is gonna be bridging it's episodes, as well as other shows in primetime. This will probably effect the ratings of CSI & GA.

I should probably explain what bridging is for the people who don't know. Bridging is when a show overlaps the hour or half hour, so that people watch the entire show then flip something on they have already missed the first minutes or so. For example, it is what CBS & NBC do with the nightly news, before Leno or Letterman come on. They run 5 minutes past the half hour point. So NBC is trying this with The Office for the next few weeks, I wonder what effect this will have because as we know if you miss the first 5-10 minutes of a CSI episode you are pretty much lost.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Sorry for the double post but I'm past my time limit

CSI got crushed last night by Grey's. CSI racked up a rating of 11.6 while Grey's got hours of 13.3 then 13.4. I'll look up the viewer numbers in millions and get on here.

Marc Berman says CSI got 18.88 mil and GA averaged 20.97. That means CSI is down even more from last week.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

That is sad. And I know a lot of people who watched the GA 2 hour show last night and were not overly impressed with it.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

I kind of thought that might happen. I was wondering how people would feel about the 'alien sci-fi' storyline. Then again I'm beginning to wonder if people are just getting fed up with the lack of variety this season as far as the characters who are placed together.

But I knew that Grey's being a 2 hour special...was sure to have more of their viewers watching.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

So, what were the final ratings for last week...Leapin' Lizards'?

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

I haven't read the entire thread, so I don't know if anyone else has stated this, but House is climbing up the ratings chart... they've beaten CSI a couple of times... Should we be worried about being wiped out by the medical dramas?

Just a thought...

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Grey's won over CSI with last night's episode. (Fast Nationals)

Greys Ratings: 12.8/20

'Betty,' 'Grey,' 'CSI,' 'Survivor' hit new lows
The Hollywood Reporter
By Paul J. Gough

May 12, 2007
NEW YORK -- ABC and CBS split Thursday's primetime, with "Ugly Betty" falling to first-run lows and "Grey's Anatomy" and "CSI" dropping to its lowest marks for a Thursday. "Survivor: Fiji" tied a season low in the demo.

"Grey's Anatomy" (19.1 million, 7.5/20), which won by a wide margin in the demo while gaining only a narrow victory in the hour against "CSI" (18.6 million, 5.4/14), according to preliminary estimates released Friday by Nielsen Media Research. But "Grey's Anatomy" turned in its lowest numbers in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and other measures since it moved to a Thursday.

It was the first time on a Thursday that the ABC drama didn't hit 20 million viewers. "CSI" was down 24% against its season average and was the lowest it had ever done in viewership as a Thursday original. It was also a low for a Thursday in adults 18-49 since Feb. 1, 2001.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Serving a reminder as this thread is at 1000 posts.

I know this thread is approaching the 1000th mark (around 20 some posts) so in thinking that the fact that we don't have two many episodes left, instead of closing this down, instead leaving it open until the season finale. after those ratings come out this will be closed and a new one will be opened (At which time we will pick someone to do so). for discussions over the summer.

Though I do have a reminder for everyone please keep in mind the rules when it comes to the following, Ship discussions, clean debating if any is done, double posting, Chatting, and the picture rules.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Just thought I'd let everyone know..

Grey's beat CSI last night with: 14.0/22

CSI Got: 12.5/20.

However. "Fallen Idols" last night beat the last 15 minutes of Grey's.

"Fallen Idols" got: 9.0/15

And the last 15 minutes of Grey's got: 8.7/15

These are Fast Nationals.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Not surprising really is it? Supposedly according to some, Grey's Anatomy Has gone down the drains...yet CSI can't beat them. *Eyebrows raised...* "Gee, I wonder why?" Yeah I'm referring to GSR. Yeah, I referring to the simple fact that this season just wasn't good. They drifted from the main context of CSI starting last season, and the show just doesn't pull in the ratings like it used to. Not to mention the finale completely botched the whole season, and I swear we are going to have to go through all this crap all over again next season.

Unless for some odd reason, the person that created this mess...chooses not to re-sign her contract, and they kill her off. Not really what I want...for Sara to be killed off...

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

I think CSI still rocks. It's the only show I regularly watch. Just seeing the Grey's Anatomy commercials turns me off. Then in the paper there were pictures of all the characters with lines and notations between the characters explaining who'd slept with whom and when (during their current marriage, before, etc). YUCK!

And there've really been only a few short minutes of GSR, and not naked scenes, kissing scenes, etc. If that's enough to cause someone to stop watching, then they're probably not a big fan anyway.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Everyone I talked too said Grey's was absolutly awful. I wouldn't be suprised to see their ratings take a major hit come sept.
