Ok, it looks its been confirmed who will lead the team after Grissom leaves and it's not who you think.

I posted and article from eonline and CM answers that question. I put in the spoiler thread, because well, it's probably a spoiler.

Okay for those who think the thread mysteriously changed its name on its own, it didn't. :D With what we have recently learned, about LF joining the show I have decided to show the name of the thread to reflect that. Also note the *No Spoilers* in the title. Knowing who the actor is coming in, and the name of his character and anything generic about his character isn't really a spoiler, anything regarding storylines, ect would be and should be put into the lab. BUT Please remember that dicussion of the either of the two actors mentioned in the above title can be discussed here, whereas not in the Lab, per the rules in that thread. Alrighty then here we go. ;)

Actually Nick became a CSI Level 3 in the pilot episode.

:confused: Then what was the promotion he and Sara were vying for, but neither got cause the lab didn't have enough funding? I thought that was for Level 2 or 3 status.

LF is a good actor. Maybe he'll fit in better than some of us (including myself) think. I just hope he has hair on CSI, cause if he's bald, all I'm going to be thinking is "Morpheous!". :lol:

That was for Lead CSI.

The CSI Levels are based on how many cases you solve. So in the pilot both Nick and Warrick and had to solve their 100th case to become CSI Level 3. Which Nick did and Warrick didn't.

Oh, okay. I thought Level 3 was the same as Lead. :lol: But, I guess Lead just means you can work a case alone?

Grissom is my favourite character so him leaving gives me a reason to stop watching the show, what is good because I watch too many series. Anyway I missed the Grissom from the first seasons, he was not the same lately, very apathetic.

I'm a little bit upset that they didn't think of a woman for the new character, all the 3 franchises with a male leader...:rolleyes:

Sorry, that now you'll stop watching. Maybe LF can convince you to stay? It all depends on how and why Gil's parting and how they will procede from there.

I don't know about LF. He might be a good actor, but I just can't imagine watching him every week on Television. Maybe a movie every now and again, but not on television; especially as a lead character. Bump that.

It really depends on how the writers want to play his character. Maybe he's not a regular just recurring? Who knows but now that I know that he's only going to be CSI 1 I don't think that he will overshadow everyone else on a weekly basis. Probably some episode will be LF centric but we'll see ...

That seems to be my moto nowadays "We'll see .." :lol:

I actually believe that it's a good thing to shake the show up a bit, even though Grissom's character is one in a million :)

Laurence Fishburne, the name sounded familiar but I had to do a search to see what he's been in :lol: I don't watch much, I thought it was funny that his last television series was Peewee's Playhouse :guffaw:and that I've seen a lot of his stuff and now that I think back at how great of an actor he was, he's going to be great on the show.

Oh I hope so, I'm just getting over the shock of Petersen leaving that I need to do research on the LF guy. I think I've seen him before, but like everyone says movies and MUCH more different than TV series, they're more at stake, more drama, more tension etc. Some actors can't takes TV series while others can. We can only hope that LF will be one of those who can.

I think they'll have him play a small part until everyone is used to him. It's going to be a rough time for the guy on the show now, what with everything happening, the tension and stress will be palpable even for us viewers.(haha I keep thinking this is a real life show lol)

I wonder what kind of background they'll have for his character...

Yeah I was actuarly worried there for a while love_fan that eveything would change that much, that other characters wouldn't be mentioned...

However LF is a great actor he was in the Matrix films, a very good bankable actor.

I agree with you AlienMonkey. I think the writers will try and make him part of the team first before they give him his "own" story line. At least I hope they'll do that.
