NY Forum Trip To LA #2

^$35.00 for a bra? Where are you shopping? Most of my bras, unless I can score a Victoria's Secret semi annual sale (which is going on now.......) run in the $50.00 range- which sucks ass because they charge more for bigger sizes and they aren't as cute, with the orthopedic straps.

Lane Bryant has very cute DD+ ones on their site and they do not cost $50+. Another favorite bra site of mine is figleaves.com where they carry everything from "are you allergic to something and have hives?" to "goodness, woman, how are you still walking upright?!!" They also have fabulous sales!

Leafman, it's all about Carmine for jkladis. ;)

Ladies, all of this talk of shopping is making my head spin! I can barely bring myself to do clothes shopping, much less talk about it.

Now, if everyone wants to talk about what books they're going to buy... :D

Wow, where have I been? Some postboard folks are coming out here to LaLa Land? Hopefully I can at least catch up with you at some point to say hi!!

You should definitely join us! Drop a PM to MrsG or myself and we can get you a copy of the itinerary.

Have to doublecheck - what time are you going to Griffith? It's an awesome trip (esp. the Observatory) at any time, but the view from the Observatory at night is absolutely incredible. In the daytime...you generally get to see our lovely smog layer, so a little less inspirational...

We're actually doing a hike in the morning...I believe it's Friday morning. You should definitely join us--it's beautiful!

What, no Rainbow? Great Italian food, reasonable prices, rock and roll atmosphere. If you need a substitute location for any of your dinner eateries, I recommend it.

We're actually getting our Italian fix at Miceli's on Thursday night. There are endless great restaurants to choose from in LA, so we chose a few that could accomodate a part of our size and were price-friendly as well.

If you feel hosed, try being the titless girl who pays full price for a bra even though an A cup requires only a fraction of the fabric.

korbjaeger - If you're in LA, definitely meet up with us. Send me your email address if you'd like the detailed itinerary. For things that require reservations (dinner), we probably have room for one more. If you want to join us for Boulevard 3, I'll let you know how to get on the guest list. A lot of the stuff (beach, shopping, lunch) doesn't require any advance planning though.

 For me is is all about being comfortable and not falling out of the bra. Which is why I had to move up a cup size. I don't look like a DD, but damn, they fits the girls sooooo much better than a regular D, and I was a C cup for years. So as a result, I don't mind shelling out the bucks for a good fitting bra. :D But, will be checking out the site that Springmoon suggested for a little flavor. :p

now, on to more exciting things, like we embark on Los Angeles in 20 some odd days. I am not ready!

Personally, you've gotta love wal-mart for good quality affordable bras. I also get a discount 'cause my mom works there part time.
:D who'd have thought we'd be talking about bras on csifiles?
Anyways, I'm doing a bunch of shopping out here for stuff to wear in LA. I got a swim suit and new shoes ('cause I do love me my shoes!) for the beach.
Can't wait!

^ Looks like you're speaking my language. Let me address this, since it looks like I might be the only other girl on this board suffering the same predicament ... what's that talk of orthodepic wear and DDs?

For the less endowed girl, I'm a fan of the Victoria's Secret IPEX infinity edge gel curve padded push-up. Once armed with that, I can pass for a solid B cup.  Wonderbra and Cosabella also make decent padded push-up, but frankly, I think my girls (definitely "girls" as opposed to "ladies") look almost like boobs in the Victoria's Secret ones.

I'll share my boobies with y'all. One of mine should supply a few of you with ample booby-age.

I don't need a bra with push up capabilities--I just need hold up capabilities.

Top, keep talking about books and I'll have to ask you out. ;)

I don't pay that much for them. I wait until they're are marked down to $9.99. It's at Lane Bryant. I think they are expensive considering CJ Banks has much more to choose from for the same price. I'd never pay that much for a bra. Nobody sees it so cheap is good. :p

Please do! We can leave the rest of them to their bra shopping. :p

I was actually at The Grove last night to see a movie--it really is a gorgeous shopping center. I think you guys are going to be impressed.

I've had a look at the website for The Grove and it looks great. Lots of lovely shops to keep everyone happy I think! :)

Personally, I might have to go in search of the latest Harry Potter book which is due for the release on July 21st. I would wait until I get home, but it's got a different cover in the US, which I prefer to the UK one.

For the 5th and 6th HP books, my little sister and I went to the midnight party thing they have at Books-A-Million. She's really bummed that I won't be here to do it this time, especially since it's the final book. She'll probably have read it before I get home.

I have one thing to say, though: If somebody spoils "Deathly Hallows" before I read it, I'm whooping ass. *threatening glare*

Hehe. :p

Please do! We can leave the rest of them to their bra shopping.
Indeed! I hate bra shopping. Books, on the other hand, make me all kinds of happy. :D I'm one of those people that walks down the aisles at the bookstore with a little notebook, writing down the interesting titles. I then check the library to see if I can read any of them for free, and I keep the reallyreally interesting ones in mind for when I can buy one. :p

Hey now, just because some of us make ANY kind of shopping fun (like for bras), doesn't mean that we lack in the brains department either!

I will have you all know that I am a huge nerd, yep, a major one that growing up, and even today have a book in my nose most of the time. Reading is one of my passions, that and porn ;), and if there is a Borders or a Barnes and Noble within a 10 mile radius, my ass is there- with a latte. :p

Hear, hear! :D I am a bookaholic. Like, I can buy ten books or more in a go if I have the money at the time, but then I got capped to buying only five at a time. Eventually went more into clothes shopping because all my books everywhere in the house were driving my family nuts.

Guys, have you browsed through the gallery for some of the clubs on the itinerary? Boy, MrsG sure wasn't kidding when she said they're upscale. After looking at the pictures, I feel like I need to a long-haired blonde with a killer smile and a skimpy dress just to be able to get in. :p
