Welcome to LA thread #2. The original thread can be found here.

I hope this doesn't bother too many people, but Top and I conferred as to whether to post the itinerary or distribute only via email. We've decided to post a skeletal version for simplicity sake. The reasoning behind that is that we don't want people to get confused as to what is happening when, claim they didn't get the email, forget to print out their email and bring it to LA or experience any other level of confusion. By posting the basics of the itinerary on the board we all have easy access to it at all times and no one can say they can't find it because it was emailed weeks before the trip and they've lost it, etc.

That being said, don't panic, what I'm about to post is bare basics only. As soon as I finish, I'm going to email a far more detailed version that includes addresses, phone #s, precise meet-up spots (many of these places are too large for anyone to find us without knowing where to meet), cost approximations, etc. Also, please rest assured that all contact info, hotels and travel plans will never be posted. That info I've been gathering from you guys will be distributed by email only and please don't discuss it in any level of detail on the board.

That being said, here we go (links were provided in the previous thread and websites are included in the email version):

    Thursday, July 19
    7:30 pm Miceli's
    10:00 pm Les Deux

    Friday, July 20
    8:00 - 10:00 am Griffith Park
    12:00 pm Big Wang's
    2:00 / 2:20 / 2:40 pm Warner Bros. studio tour
    7:00 pm Vert
    11:00 pm Lucky Strike

    Saturday, July 21
    10:00 am Santa Monica beach
    1:00 pm Santa Monica Pier
    7:00 pm Kung Pao Kitty
    10:00 pm Boulevard 3

    Sunday, July 22
    10:00 am The Grove
    12:30 pm Farmer's Market
    2:00 pm Beverly Hills
    6:00 pm LaLa's

A quite detailed itinerary will be emailed this evening. If you don't receive it, please let me know ASAP so I can get a copy to you. I recommend that everyone print it out and bring it with them on the trip as it will contain all the essential details.

I'm still working on a couple people's info for the contact sheet, but if I don't have it all by the end of the week, I'll just go ahead and email you what I've got.

Note that there are a couple changes on the final itinerary. That is due to the fact that we had to do a little bit of scrambling on the resturants. Our party is too large for many to accommodate without imposing fixed menus or per person minimums on us and out of respect for your budgets, we busted butt to avoid doing that to you.

It's all coming together! :D Thanks for posting that, MrsG.

The new places are Vert and Kung Pao Kitty. MrsG and I have tried the latter and give it two thumbs up. And Vert is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, so you can't go wrong there.

The fixed price menus were going to start at $40 a person, and we just thought that was unreasonable. I think these new places will work out well. More details in the e-mail that you'll get so that you can look the places up.

I hope you guys are getting excited! We're only a little more than three weeks away from the trip! :D

    And welcome to The_Leafman!!!! :D

    Welcome The_Leafman. :)

Thanks for the detailed itinerary, it's all very exciting! :D The new restaurants look great too, and Kung Pao Kitty serves some of my husband's favourite beer, so he will be a very happy man.

I printed the itinerary this morning and have already destroyed it with all of my writing of what clothing I will be bringing and wearing what day, etc. sad, isn't it?

^ Sad? Not really. I've been thinking about writing what clothes to wear next to every event myself...

Well, usually when you have money, shopping is a lot of fun. It's when you don't that you stare at the open closet and start writing down lists of possible clothes... ;)

Not sad to write out what clothes you're packing at all. Never hurts to be prepared. personally, I suck at bringing exactly what I need. Good thing I'm not flying because I'm one of those "pack everything but the kitchen sink" kinda girls.

 Wow, a mutual interest in man porn must have quite a bonding effect because otherwise, I have no idea how we could be friends.

OMG!!! Fay, you hate buying clothes. I still like buying clothes although it's not as much fun since I've gained weight. :(

Someone needs to stop me doing "retail therapy" 'cause my credit cards can't handle it anymore!!

^ Don't look to me for that sort of support. I am severely lacking in retail impulse control. The rest of my affairs are orderly and controlled, but sweet f-ing Jesus -- retail is my down fall. I need a "Will Blow For Juicy" t-shirt.

The itinerary looks great and after reading this thread I am glad to see I am not the only one using it as a tool to organize my suitcase. I find if I empty the shopping bags right into the suitcase I can fit more because the stores always fold everything so perfectly.

Mrs. G and Top, thank you so much for all the hard work putting this trip together. I am really looking forward to it.

^ I will second her 'Will Blow for Juicy' t-shirt, when last summer we made a trip to Neimans for a 'specific' Juicy t-shirt while we were in Beverly Hills. Deb does have retail therapy issues, esp with Juicy Couture items. Of course, I am a clothing and designer purse whore. *hangs head in shame* Just bought a new Dooney a couple of months ago, and am ready for another new one.

Glad to see that I am not the only one using the itinerary for packing purposes! :D It just lets me know what I have and still need to get :)

ETA: Just got done looking at the itinerary at some of the shopping, esp at The Grove. *HIT, *HIT, *HIT. This mall has some of my favorite stores in it, and Nordstroms. I am in BIG trouble here. I need to clear my credit card before I go I am afraid! ;) This is going to hurt.

Yeah, I hate shopping. Mostly, I hate standing in the dressing room in my skivvies, looking at myself in the full-length mirror under fluorescent lighting, and going "oh, dear God, please tell me this bitch is lying to me..." And I hate having to bypass all of the attractive clothing to buy the fugly shit they sell for bigger women.

1.) My neck is not that big.
2.) My shoulders are not that broad.
3.) My tits are staying inside my shirt, thank you.
4.) The shirts are either too short or too long.
    5.) Elastic-waist pants. Nuff said.

The list goes on and on.

So yeah, Fay hates shopping. *sigh*
