I'm kind of the same way in that I really wasn't happy with mine, but I said what the heck and just posted it. I think I kind of like it now tho. :)

When I started it, it came really easily...Nick's words just flowed right out. I wanted to make the whole thing just his words, but halfway through it felt like it was missing something...like it needed a little more description to get the emotions to come through, be it a little laugh or a sigh or whatever.

And, I really wanted some sort of cool ending where you find out to whom he was talking, but I couldn't come up with one. :lol: I'm glad to see that some of you liked being able to decide for yourself who it was. :)

I guess this one came from thinking about all the changes the show went through this past year combined with all the many things Nick has gone through and how it may affect him.

I had already done the stranger/therapist route so I decided on family. And I'm not telling you what Nick's decision was...only cause I'm not sure myself. And I think it's cool to make your own ending to the story.

And thanks for the advice, Nickyfan, I'll try to put them into practice next round.

Why didn't anyone tell me??! :lol: I read my story over and over and NOW I realize...driver's window, idiot. The driver's window was shattered, not the passenger side!

*sigh* It's the details that will be the death of me.

I didn't even notice that, Smokey.

I did notice in my fic though that in one place I had "Cather" instead of "Catherine". :lol: I wonder why my Word program didn't pick up on that. :lol:

My story, well... I just wrote it, I guess :lol:

The original version was much longer... but I finally managed to get it cut to 2.500 words :)

I wanted to write an adult Nick this time and I also wanted to try writing parts where people speak. It maybe sounds stupid but since English isn't my first language I really struggled with it... and I'm glad it worked out finally ;)

I was always asking myself how Nick thinks about Eli and that Warrick never told him about him. I wish they would show Nick visiting Eli.

I wanted to write something about Nick and Warrick... and as I watches For Warrick again I saw those papers about the paternity test Warrick had in his appartment and there I read about Christina Brewster and Eli Brewster... and then I just started writing :D


I want to thank all the people who reviewed again, if they wrote a story for this challenge or not, it really means a lot :D

And I want to thank Smokey for beta reading all my stories :) Thank you all :D

I think it was the passenger side, Smokey. The driver's side window had been rolled down. Remember McKeen's knuckle print? Which window did that come off of?

No, McKeen was on the passenger side. That's the window that was rolled down.

I even doubted myself then on whether or not the driver's window shattered, so I had to look at the screen caps to be sure. :) And it did.

Change of Scenery: That was sweet. I could see Nick needing a change of scenery and not wanting to get close to anyone. It is so Nick to see that he's needed in Michigan to help out and decides to stay. A supervisor, it's nice to see someone think he has the potential.

Now the 'Cather's' thing. I'm not going to say nothing about that :shifty:, nope nothing at all. :p Looks like something I'd do. :lol: Don't you hate it when your brain is thinking one thing and your fingers do another? :lol: (see I had to go back and type 'it' because my brain was thinking faster than my fingers :lol:)

If I Could Just See You: Wow, that was great. It's nice to see a story on how Nick found out about Warrick. I could see that happen. Nick thinking it was Warrick that shot someone, not wanting to believe that it was Warrick under the sheet. As I reading this I just wanted to comfort Nick and just be his strength. It's like now Nick is all alone in the world, his best friend is gone. Thanks for giving us a way on how Nick found out about Warrick.

Break Away: I like this Annie :lol: she tells it like it is. I love how his niece was the one who made him realize how important he is to the victims and the families. I'm going to assume that Nick went back to Vegas, since you wouldn't tell us. :wtf: Maybe, his niece will come to Vegas and work with her Uncle Nick. He'd be a great mentor. Great story! You know come to think of it, it would be kind of cool if a niece or nephew of Nick's came to work at the lab. Either a labrat, CSI or cop. That could be interesting.

The Inability To Let Go: Ok, I'm crying now, I hope you're happy with yourself. :) That was a powerful story. "Let it go, man." I could hear Warrick telling Nick that. I could see Nick wondering why Warrick didn't tell him about Eli. I'd be thinking the same thing 'I thought we were best friends." Nick has been on such rollercoaster of emotions and Warrick isn't there to help him. I love that he went to visit Tina and Eli and how Eli wiped his tear away. OMG, that was the greatest moment of the story; and the Eli hugged him...now I'm crying. Nick will and would be a great person to be in Eli's life. Nick could tell him so much about his dad. I loved this story. Wonderful job!

The Storm: Another story making me cry. That poor mother and baby. I'm glad that Nick listened to his gut and stayed, otherwise that poor baby would have died alone and may never have been found. Though the baby had no chance in life, at least he knew love for the very short time he was here and Nick should feel proud that he was able to give that little baby the love he so deserved. It's a shame that the mother was raped and then died giving birth, but her last act was of love, as well. She wanted to protect the baby above all else, that is what a mother would do.

I like that Nick's co-workers were at the funeral to support him. This was a very touching story and shows what is the essence of Nick Stokes.

The Price of Admission: I know that Nick didn't want anyone to know, but he really needs to tell his parents why he didn't want Cole to stay with Sue Ellen. I'm glad his brother stepped in and knew what happened to Nick. I hope that Nick finds the strength to tell his parents and that he knows it wasn't his fault. That his brother knows it wasn't his fault too. So sweet big brother looking out for his little brother. That was a nice story about two brothers.

Great stories, everyone! Such different takes on the song, that's what's great about this challenge. The story I started to write was no where near the stories like these. I hope I'll be able to finish some day.

speedy, now that I've thought about it I think Nick does go back to Vegas. And I agree with you, I'd love to see some of Nick's siblings or relatives appear on the show....hopefully not as a victim.
