I don't know if I'll be joining this round either. I like the song and I know what I want to write, I'm just having a hard time getting it out. I have some written, but I'm stuck.
If I can get it done, I'll do it, but don't expect one from me this round.
I liked the song too, so many possibilities. Maybe a shorter idea will come to mind. Ugh.

Maybe we should pick the song sooner this time and give the writers at least a month, because even I have found it difficult to write in the time given due to college demands, children going back to school and life in general. Please consider. Thanks!

And here I was thinking that too much time was the problem. :lol: Because this time we had three weeks instead of two to write. I figured maybe people forgot or lost interest because there was too much time.
Are we all burnt out for now maybe? Do we need a challenge break to get refreshed and excited about it again?

Mine was more of a time factor, two weeks would blow me out of the challenge completely. I am up at four in the morning and my day ends at twelve at night...not including my work days....I am definitely not burned out, just time restricted.
So if we take a break, I'm afraid I will lose interest, fill that time in with other things. Just don't know what to tell you.

I don't think a break is needed. If someone needs a break, they can take one.
I just think that two weeks is a constraint. The main school year starts up for me in a week and I'll be taking two classes online at once, add that to work and life, I think a month might be better.
Like I said before I had a story in mind and some of it written, but I got stuck. I still want to write it, but will at some point.
Anyways, that's my two cents. Now I must go eat and then take my two hour final exam. I'm scared.

Change of Scenery - I could absolutely see something like this happening. Nick wouldn't hesitate to help out his family. I liked the bit about Nick not wanting to get close to the new Vegas team members in case they ended up leaving. And dude, Nick's a supervisor! He is so deserving.
If I Could Just See You - Amazing! I like that it isn't clear who he is talking to or where he is. I really wish we could see something like this on the show. The line about the waitress being too young for Nick.....chuckled at that.
Break Away - I liked that Catherine is the one that noticed Nick's lack of attentiveness if that makes sense. She's known him for a long time. But why leave us hanging? Is he going back to Vegas or not?
The Inability To Let Go - Oh little Eli. The bit where Tina just hands Nick Eli to hold reminded me of the scene in Law of Gravity where Nick gets handed the baby. Why didn't Warrick tell anyone about Eli is a fair question to ask.
The Storm - Oh my god. That's really all I can say right now. You captured Nick's gentleness and his sweetness. Beautiful job.

Change of Scenery- Interesting way to bring a line from the song in... by having it be in Nick's prayer. I think this fic could continue with Nick meeting his new teammates.
If I Could Just See You- Liked the look inside Nick's thoughts of what he was thinking when Warrick was killed. I wondered the whole time who he was talking to though. I thought maybe he was talking to a shrink or something. I wish the show had let us get into his emotions that way. I agree with Princess about the line about the waitress. That made me giggle too.
Break Away- Loved the talk between Nick and his niece. And that Cath noticed pretty quickly that something was off with Nick and confronted him about it. Cliffhanger at the end. But, I think Nick's niece was right.
The Inability To Let Go- I wish they would show Nick visit Warrick's grave on the show. I can very easily see Nick wondering why Warrick didn't tell him about Eli. Loved Tina knowing he wasn't okay and calling him on his untruth. Eli telling him not to cry made me cry.
