I just have one, actually two questions:

How do you go about finding someone to beta your story?

And if there is again a word limit, is there a quicker way to find out how many words you actually have without sitting and counting? Because I think that would make me go cross eyed or blind.

I'll let our fearless leader Smokey answer the beta question, but if you have Ms Word you can go to File > Properties and then click the Statistics tab, and there's your word count.

Hey Princess! I would be happy to do it for you if you like, since I will already know which story belongs to which person. But if you'd rather someone else do it, there is a beta thread here in Fan Fiction where you could try to find someone. I don't mind to do it tho.

That goes for anyone who would like one...it would just be for spelling and punctuation tho...no fair having a "content" beta for this challenge. :D

As for the word count...if you write it using Word, it will tell you the number of words. What program are you using?

If you're using Open Office, go to tools and then select word count. There ya have it. :D

As for what program I'd be using....a really old version of MS Works Word Processor.

I did a quick search and found this site

Word Count Tool

Where you just cut and paste your text into a box and it counts the words for you. I tried it with one of my stories and where Word counted 3274 words, this tool counted 3270.

So it's accurate enough I guess! Hope that helps.

Do you need the link to my story on FF since, you know, you already know where it is? :lol:

I think now would be a good time to pick the song for the next challenge, what do you guys think? :D Once again, they are all numbered...this time 1 through 10. So...the first person who responds to this post with a number...that will be the one we will go with.

Waiting anxiously.... :)

Alrighty then! Of course, the list is on my laptop downstairs, so I'll get the post up as soon as I can. Yay for more fics coming soon!! :D

Can't wait to find out what the song is!! In the meantime I'm having trouble with the webhost where I keep the site so I haven't been able to upload the new pages. As soon as that's done I'll post here and y'all can refresh your caches and see the new stuff.

1. Word limit on the fic is 2,000. Please remember to give the fic a title and a short summary (neither are counted in the word limit).

2. The only restrictions on the content of the fic are that Nick must be the main character and that the story must be based on the song lyrics (below). You can base your fic on the idea of the song, whole or in part, use some of the lyrics...whatever you want as long as the song is your inspiration. The fics will be presented later by way of a link, so there are no worries about mature content.

3. Please do not post your fic or any links here! Send your fic to me at the email in my profile (or you can PM it to me if it's short enough). If you email it, you can put it in the body of the email or send it as an attachment. Please put the title of your fic in the subject line of the PM or email. Deadline for submissions is Saturday, June 6, at midnight EST.

4. Submissions should be anonymous! Please do not share your story with anyone else or tell anyone which one is yours once they are posted!

5. If you would like to have someone beta (proofread) your story, please choose someone who is NOT a participant in this challenge. Or if you like, I will be happy to beta your story when you send it to me. :) Just let me know when you send it.

6. Once all of the stories are in, we will publish the links to them and everyone can start reading!

Okay, I can see this coming a mile down the road. :lol:

To answer the questions...yes, smut is allowed. :D The fics are linked to our own site, not posted here, so you are free to write as much smut and as many curse words as you like.

Depending on the content of your story, you may want to put cautions in the beginning so people know what to expect.
