i have one big, huge, problem with last nights episode... why wasnt tony shown coming back at the end?? :( they did such a good job showing how everyone missed each other, and then the big happy reunion at the end, but no tony. oh well, he will be back next week.

really liked the last second twist, kind of suspected something because of the black and white flash of agent lee in where she looked evil-ish. am interested to see where this story goes.

I quite enjoyed last night's episode. But I kept waiting for Tony to come back at the end.

As allmaple said, that was quite the twist at the end, and I look forward to seeing what else they will do with it.

At first it bugged me too. But then I remembered the spoilers for 6x02 and I figured if Tony get's all next week's action it's ok for him to stand back a bit...
and when I saw the preview I was grinning with joy and anticipation

IMHO it was ok not to bring everybody back within one episode because that would have been too fast and neat a wrap-up. It would have shown too obviously that the team split was just a cliffhanger stunt.
The way they're doing it now is more plausible, because the team members return for reasons other than "the finale is over we can stop pretending"

I agree, actually. I didn't really say so in my last post, but I do think it's better this way. Although... poor Tony  He didn't seem to happy about being on that ship.

Which is why I'm looking forward to next week...this is going to be hilarious (hilarious as in funny to watch not as in CSI:Miami season opener)

I wonder how (if?) team dynamics will change after the split
McGee has some leadership experience now (like Tony got when Gibbs was gone), Ziva escaped death once more and apparently spent some time with her dad, DiNozo went crazy aboard the Seahawk
(yeah I know...that's what you get when you keep using your username from the old JAG days )

I really felt that family spirit in the first episode and I hope it will continue in this way. That they appreciate each other more for not taking it for granted to have such a "family"

I liked the opening episode very very much :D
I have to agree, the cliffhanger is a great twist. It keeps the suspense going on. Gibbs must have kept Tony on that ship for a reason and maybe the next ep will be Tony centered.
The interaction between Ziva and Abby with the hug took me by suprise, mainly because of Ziva's reaction. :guffaw:
Gibbs tellling Ziva that they missed her was a bit un-Gibbsish for me:lol: but I liked it.

OMG I LOVED IT!!!
I now like Vance and think he's one of the best things since sliced bread!
Loved Abby telling Gibbs how he was going to have the team back in 12 days lol
Loved the whole story arc about Lee. I think that stare from Gibbs and Vance at the end holds more than just a "see ya" type thing. I think they may still be unsure about her.
Loved Tony on the ship. "Miss you Dad" sooo lovely
And Gibbs talking to the team, so fatherly, so missing them loads, soooooo cuuuttee! I loved it all!
Can anyone tell i'm just slightly excited lol

I have one serious problem with the ending. Vance went through all the shady stuff, breaking up the team and all, to figure out the mole. Then, in the end, he and Gibbs accept Lee's explanation of what happened without any proof that what she said was how it happened? Police departments have bigger investigations of an "officer involved" shooting of a criminal who's gunned down ten people in front of witnesses just before the shooting than NCIS seems interested in doing in this case. I'm wondering if 1) NCIS procedures are that lame, or 2) Vance and Gibbs aren't quite finished with this investigation, but they don't want to put Lee on alert.

I believe I reported some time ago about NCIS going back to Gibbs hometown and meeting his father...
Well here we go folks take a look at this

^ Will his dad head-slap Jethro?

Also from TV Guide online:

NCIS returned to 17.7 million total viewers, a 30 percent increase from its previous premiere and the military drama's most-watched season opener ever. House placed second with 12.2 mil (down 16 percent week-to-week), but topped the demos. Biggest Loser (7.18 mil) lost 615 thou, followed by the debut of ABC's Opportunity Knocks (6.6 mil). The CW's 90210 dipped 11 percent, to just under three mil.

:guffaw:Love it! Mind you wasn't it Mike Franks he got that from, I'd still love to see it!
30% increase that's great. I suppose more people are hearing about it now from such fanatics as ourselves lol but hey most of that is down to the reat writing and fantastic acting so a big well done to them all

I've added 36 new icons from the premiere at my livejournal enjoy :)

I loved the premiere - man, I am sooo glad NCIS is back! And better than ever, IMO!

I agree that getting the team back bit by bit is better than a tidy package all tied up neatly with a bow. And maybe it makes sense that McGee/Ziva came back first, but not Tony. After all, McGee/Ziva were both on an undercover assignment for Vance, or one that Vance knew about (in Ziva's case). I get the impression that Tony isn't actually on an assignment of any kind for Vance. So the "spy" thingie is done (or so they think), so Ziva/Tim can come home, but Tony is still wrapping up whatever he's working on... and of course, we get to see what that is, next week! :)

I think both Vance & Gibbs' Spidey Senses are going off re: Lee, and that something isn't quite right. Her cell phone call that she didn't answer while talking to Gibbs at the end? And he picked up her box like he was going to carry it for her, but then immediately gave it back to her. Whass'up with that? It's almost like he wanted to get a look at the contents of it (or maybe attaching a little tracking device? Aaah, now I'm thinking like Gibbs, too suspicious! ) At any rate, I thought it was strange when he did that. Finally, Ziva had a very odd reaction, IMO, at the end when she saw Lee, almost like she knows something is up. She literally hesitated before she even said "Michelle!" and she looked/sounded quite surprised to actually see her - but why? And her reaction after that was cautious, I thought, especially compared to her giddiness with Abby, Gibbs & Tim.

Can't wait to see next week, and continue seeing how this storyline unfolds! Any ideas who Lee is working with/for? :shifty:

Oh. My God.

That was amazing. I thought it was soooo much better than I expected it to be. And I actually kinda liked the new team...but I CANNOT WAIT for the old team to be completely back together!
Vance wasn't as bad as I thought he would be either. I still haven't decided whether or not I like him, though...

Oh wow, how did I miss that? Ziva is Mossad, and they have a reputation for being the best intelligence service in the (real) world. It would follow then, on NCIS, that Mossad (and Ziva) must know something; therefore, Ziva was shocked when she saw that Lee was still there. Good catch, MBGrissom!

I agree I never even thought about that MBGrissom nice find or just well done for paying attention!
