-Wizard of Oz

-Les Miserables

-Grease
-Annie get your Gun
-Gypsy
And
-Little Women, The Musical

We do have a Musicals thread, but it was opened last year and only has a few posts, so I'll leave this one open rather than bumping up the old one. :)

I love Phantom Of the Opera and Chicago alot. The music of both musicals are absolute amazing too :D

i love musicals! ive been to 3 in the last couple of months:
south pacific in stratford (ontario)
beauty and the beast in london (ontario again)
rent in new york city
it was really fun seeing rent in new york, especially since we had been downtown the day before near where it takes place. not a happy musical though, amazing but we were all pretty sad leaving the theater.

my favourite is joseph, i listen and sing to the soundtrack all the time. i really wanted to see wicked, but for the week we were in new york it was all sold out, and it closed in toronto before i got there to see it :(

Some of the ones I have seen live on stage and enjoyed are Bye Bye Birdie, Fiorello, and Fiddler on the Roof. Also liked the movies of Grease, Birdie, Fiddler, Xanadu, Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and West Side Story.

I love musicals!

AllMaple, You saw RENT in NY? I am soooooo Jealous!

Some of my faves are:
Rent
Phantom of the Opera
Les Mis
Jesus Christ Superstar
Fiddler on the Roof
Grease
West Side Story
Fame (never actually seen the movie, just the stage version)
Oh, and Lil' Abner and Dracula Spectacula, because I have great memories of being in them in high school.

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Allmaple-im anm SOO jelous!! I REALLY want to go see RENT!

I was just recently in Wizard of Oz (Seattle) and I am auditioning for Oklahoma in March (Seattle again)

I don't know a lot of musicals, but I have "Oklahoma" on DVD because Hugh Jackman is in it ;)
For which part in Oklahoma will you audition CSISidle ? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

The only musical I've ever really seen was Grease, and that became one of my favorites when I was a little kid :p My uncle actually writes and produces his own musicals (script, orchestrates the music, etc) and is working on one right now. He wrote one called 'Dillinger: The New Musical', 'Madison Hats' and is working on one now called 'Fetish' :p

I also saw a musical version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in a theater, but.. :p They didn't have enough people in it so whenever they needed two characters on stage that the same person played, they held up the head of the costume of that character to say their lines, and vice versa. It was a bit disturbing  :p

I'm gonna be a complete weirdo and say my favourite is 'Pirates of Penzance'. When my school did it, I went to see it twice, but I've got the actual stage performance on video, and I really like it..well, most of it. After I saw it at school, I annoyed all my friends by constantly singing "I am a pirate king" and "I am the very model of a modern major general" over and over and again. Hehe :D

Basicly any part that I get but one part that I want is Gertie Cummings (sp?) or Ado Annie Carnes. are those good parts? i've never seen the movie or anything.

I'm absolutely in love with Moulin Rouge. No matter how hard I train myself I still bawl at the end like a baby. It just breaks my heart :(. It's a perfect blend of drama, comedy, romance & music. Nicole Kidman shined & her singing voice blew my mind!

Other favourites are Grease & West Side Story. One I don't like much IMO is High School Musical, if that even counts...
