Miami season 8 in the UK

I dont mind Langston. Although I dislike the fact that it was in this episode, with H, that they set of the whole 'Dr Ray' thing, which unfortunately seemed to stick in the later Vegas episodes.

Yeah I have to agree - what's with the stupid "Dr Ray" thing all of a sudden? I didn't understand where that came from first time round!:wtf:

I remember when they first showed the trilogy, hyping it up so much it was bound to be a disappointment! I think the story line wasn't that bad, but there really wasn't enough in it to play out across three episodes.

What really annoyed me was that it wasn't really a trilogy with all three "CSI"s working together - it was just Ray Langston flitting around from Vegas to Miami to New York and back to Vegas. It would have been better if characters from all three places were in each of the three episodes.

I have to confess though that I'm mainly going on what I remember from the first time around, because I spent most of the three hours last night glued to my laptop whilst "watching" it! I really must NOT bring work home on a Tuesday night!! :guffaw:

Guilty of not paying attention too! I was busy watching spandex wearing adults beat up aliens with lotsa explosions  But I have to admit I recorded it because of a few good scenes, mainly Travers and his green eyes...

God damn it, now I've gone and thought up a 'what could have been' for the trilogy. Ah well, any excuse to usurp the writers (though I'm not sure this should actually go here :p)

- Miami find evidence of a serial state killer (I just really don't like prostitution storylines) who's also striked in Vegas. Cath and Greg visit Miami to investigate (cause I think Cath and H were brilliant together, and I always wanted to see Greg and Ryan in a shared scene)
- They learn of more killings in NY. Cue Cath and H going over to help Mac and co.
- Find that suspect has tracked back to Vegas. Cath and Greg return, with other labs assisting through use of web conferences (any excuse to see Archie and Dave in action)

Voila, insta-proper trilogy, just add hyper fanfic writer :D

Dragonfriend, I hardly dare ask, but... "spandex wearing adults beat up aliens with lotsa explosions"? What the hell were you smoking?!:guffaw:

And I'm all for usurping the writers at times. Maybe they should read some of these threads occasionally - some of the whacked-out hyper fanfic writers could definitely help them out!

So, why does everyone like Travers so much? Couldn't possibly be the FAKE English accent, could it????:guffaw: Can't help wondering - if they want someone to sound English - WHY NOT JUST GET AN ENGLISH PERSON?! Still... yeah, the eyes are quite nice, I'll give you that - but I still prefer the blue ones though!

Yeah, the trilogy was way over-hyped. It was always going to disappoint. And I agree, there should have been more than just 'Dr Ray' involved in all three. Dragonfriend- I prefer your idea. Cath and H did hit it off well. ( I was glad H mentioned her, and Warrick- nice touch)

Im also not into Travers. His fake English accent annoys me, and I cant say I have ever noticed his eyes. I much prefer Dave.

:brickwall:

Pretty much sums up what I thought of this ep.

I wonder why the writers thought it would be okay to totally screw up Ryan's character. I counted at least three times that he was being lectured, by the newest CSI no less! And his horrid behaviour at the crime scene nearly made me hurl. 'I'm hungry.' :brickwall:

Well, at least there was Natalia to cheer me up...oh, but wait, there wasn't. :brickwall:

Oh well, at least everyone else got fair screentime...Oh, Horatio and Frank were actually IN this ep. Must have blinked and missed them :brickwall:

Still, at least the case was consistent...or it was until the last quarter; it could have ended just fine with the daughter swerving off the road, but then they had to add extra drama and some drugs to boot :brickwall:

1/10, only because we got to see H in a lab coat and working, and Tom with his jello

Actually, make that 2/10; I am so glad they cast Wes Ramsey as Dave! (I'm just a sucker for the AV guys :D)

Same reason as Nat and Frank; he isn't a new character, and he isn't in a relationship with a co-worker :shifty::lol:

It seems that to tptb it doesn't matter if H is the boss or not, they just want to focus on the romantic and/or new stuff.

Hell, the only reason Ryan is getting any screentime is just so they can promote Jesse and Walter more.

Here's hoping that Kyle's return in later eps gives Super H more time to shine

I agree, definitely one of the worst episode. I was cringing at some of the Ryan scenes.

Good points-

Definitely H doing some lab work. About time.

Tom. He is crazy! That jelly scene made me laugh. :)

And Im going to agree again, and say another highlight was Dave. Definitely a keeper.

Bad points-

I miss Natalia. She seems to add warmth to the show

Not enough H, too much Jesse. Seemed like Jesse was the leading man in this one.

Too many twists in the episode. I liked the fact that Cal brought up having an alcoholic Dad, nice bit of continuity. Unfortunately, to me, she was pretty wooden in the scene.

Ryan being OOC. There is no way he would jump to conclusions at a crime scene because he wanted to get food. That is not the Ryan we have watched these past years.

Walter telling Ryan stuff he ought to know. It should be the other way round. Especially as Walter isnt even a flipping CSI. :(

Agreed on all points Solitaire!

I'm starting to like Jesse now that he isn't being portrayed as such a wonder boy anymore (and he is actually quite a charming guy ;) ), but it's still irritating when he gets more screentime than anyone else.

I've never been a fan of Calleigh's, but even I thought that scene was a bit wooden, maybe even forced. I actually thought it a shame that she seemed cold about her father...

I think that the writers originally were supposed to have Walter as a tech, but either they liked him or he got a good reception from the audience, and in true Miami style they changed it so that he was a CSI, without explanation. That's my theory anyway, he could really be a tech for all I know

Doesn't at all excuse how he was tutoring Ryan for the majority of the episode though.

hope i'm not off topic but i couldn't keep silent.
well i finally found out which csi they are showing on local paid channel. and of course it's not miami.
it's ny. and from season 5. :brickwall::scream:
ahh just desperately hope to see miami once and for all! is that too much to ask?!

at least my other big-wish came true :)

^ Thats a shame. Hope you get to see it some time soon.
Glad your other wish, whatever it is, came true.

Well, looking forward to seeing tomorrow nights episode. Both Ryan and Jesse looking cute in dinner suits!

Well the other wish was to see The Mentalist from beginning. It came true. I can watch it. And Numb3rs too.
But actually i am hoping to see season premiere online if i could find useable link. Or a day later on other site i use to watch missed episodes.
Yeah they look good. I think i saw a bit from that episode.

I am being very wary of this ep. POI threw me into the pessimistic pit, so not in the best of moods about watching it (the bad weather and me being bedbound from sickness doesn't really help matters either  )

*gets out notebook and prepares to rant* :p

Thanks Solitaire, I think I've gone through the worst of it.

On topic, I was pleasantly surprised with this episode.

At the start I thought my dream had come true and Togo had been cast as the new Bond. Ah well, maybe next time

I wish Ryan was poor more, if just to see him in the suit again

Loved Horatio in this ep. From the epic start right up to the end (and the lovely part in the middle when he did the experiment with Walter.)

I'm trying hard to like Jesse and his storyline, but its kinda hard when tptb keep shoving him in our faces.

And, well...he stood up Natalia. An inexcusable crime! Speaking of which, I love how much screentime she got.

Honourable mention goes to Tom, Walter and Frank. Not to mention the case was very interesting, though I thought it was pretty obvious that the main CEO had killed the janitor.

Highlight for me had to be guest star Ian Dale as the girl victim's brother. I was... very distracted whenever he was on

8/10!
