Megan Donner Appreciation Forum(Bring her back!!!)

Horatio did tell her if she wanted the job back she could have it and she told him that it wasn't up to her. I would find it difficult to come back after that.
In Golden Parachute when Speedle told her "Welcome back Megan", she downplayed it and didn't even respond. I never did understand why she did that.

(WOW~~ You're here and got a promotion--lab technician   )
Maybe she wanna her work, maybe she doesn't, who knows...Anyway it is she who asked for six months' leave...Maybe she just wanna back and make sure everything is okay after her leave and she then she can leave without any worry...Maybe she just wanna find her emotion in work back so that it could cover her pressure...Manybe she just doesn't wanna to mention the topic what Speelde raised, she doesn't wanna recall that terrible feeling...There are so many possibilities; just depands on what direction the writer wanna go as he gives us this show...

Personally, I don't think they should have replaced her so quickly. They could have had somebody fill in for her until she came back but the writers more or less built this show around Horatio

Well, it is unfair that someone took her place during her leaving if she just asked for a teporary leave...I think she just aksed for a temporary one...The witer got Horatio showed up in the first ep and got her back in the second, maybe the writer planed to make some differences from LV and NY...But with the show's going-on, maybe the writer find Megan is a role who acted so much and maybe better than Horatio...In order to keep Horatio's position, they made her leaving...

Getting back to the thread topic...With Ann D and her pen of destruction   she'll never bring her back.
We could have her back, maybe in a crossover case...I think though Megan left Miami, she still loves her work...Maybe she just need a new place to release her pressure...If the writer gives our chance to see her somewhere, I wish I could see her soon, even just in one case...*Missing her*  ...And...is Horatio questioning?   He is so cute here...

Megan: What are you worried about?
Horatio: Crossover...

Horatio: Do you really think it is a good idea to have a crossover case with...NY?
Megan: ...

I'm much much much confused before I correct my some mistake here...

Roymand Cain died, the PD gave Yellina six months' holiday to...maybe release her grief.
Sean died, the Lab onlu gave Megan two weeks' holiday to let her have a rest?...

The only rational explanation I can get for this is:
The lab gave Megan maybe six months' or one months' holiday...but Megan, she herself, only took two weeks and went back to her work...
Maybe she couldn't bear this kinda burying by grief, so she tried to get herself out by focusing on her work again...
And then it is rational that the lab have someone take her place while she is out...

*recalling*
Horatio: you could have your job back if you want.
Megan: it's not up to me.
*back*

I don't think it is Megan who is competing Horatio to have the position of supervisor back...It is Megan who said this coz she has no idea if this work could keep her away from her grief...And it is Megan who wanna another pressure to cover the grief but don't know if it could work...So she just coma back to her work, not to her position in the lab...And it is why Horatio is still in the position of supervosor there and why she worked for him...

* "Anyone agree?" *

What episode did it say that the PD gave Yelina 6 months off? I don't remember that. Maybe because they only allowed for 2 weeks off and Megan took 6 months is why they gave Horatio her job.

It'll probably never make sense to some why Megan left. In the storyline she just couldn't handle being back to the work which killed her husband. But in the world of the writers, this show was created around David Caruso's character. He is the lead actor of the show. I'm not even sure if Kim Delaney was originally intended to be in the show. For some reason I am thinking that I read somewhere that she was last minute...but I'm probably wrong.

I loved Kim Delaney years ago when she played Jenny on the soap All My Children. She was killed off that show because she wanted to do movies.

Didn't she also enter rehab after she got axed from Miami? I think there was more going on with her departure than just no chemistry between Horatio and Megan.

No~~It's totally totally not this way...

In the second part of season one, or in the earlier part of season two...(As I don't like much about Yelina, I just watch several eps of season two)...when Horatio talked with a man(I forgot his name) from Internal Affaira Department, taht man asked Horatio about Yellina---Do you think she could recover after six months' away?---That means the PD gave Yellina six months to have a rest for her husbands' death...Am I right?

After Megan's comeing back, when Speedle talked with Eric in the lab, Speedle said to Eric---Her husband died...That's a big thing...Two weeks is not enough...She needs more time...---That means she only took two weeks away from her work and then came back to her work...Am I right?
*back*

As I think, caomparing with Yellina, it is unfair if the lab only gave Megan two weeks' leave, so I ezplain it as; the lab gave her enough time to have a rest and had Horato to take her place while she was out of work, but she came back only after two weeks, and the replacement hadn't finfished, so she had to work for Horatio for temporary...And then, when she continued her work in the lab---it's what the show gave us...

no matter if she is the last minute decison, she got the character and she focused on it and she acted really really great!

*Thisa what I found:*
Horatio may seems to be absent-minded for a while...I don't know why...And I don't think it is a fault...I think it makes the show PERFECT!

:rolleyes:What had flashed in her mind?

The writer never ive me a clue to let me know why Megan left the lab... :(...I am missing her so much... :(

I think you misunderstood that conversation. When the internal affairs guy (his name's Rick Stetler) was talking to Horatio he was wanting to ask Yelina out on a date and he asked Horatio if he thought she was ready because some time had passed since Ray was killed. He asked Horatio "Do you think she's ready?"

Who knows how long Yelina was off because they never really said. Besides, who knows when Ray really "died" anyway. In several episodes they list different dates of his death. I know they showed 2001 and one in the late 90's.

I think Megan was treated fairly. They needed someone to take over the lab and she did have a job when she decided to come back. I know where I work that if you are off longer than 6 months, you are guaranteed a comparable position but not necessarily the exact position you had. Looks like that's what they done with Megan. They let her come back as a CSI but not the head CSI. I would say their 2 weeks off is across the board for all employees.

Yelina might have taken 6 months or more off but she wasn't the head of CSI, she was just a detective. She wasn't running a lab like Megan was. Leadership has to be replaced quickly. Maybe when Megan took the time, she wasn't planning on coming back. We'll never know because it will never be addressed. We'll just have to speculate.

After Megan's comeing back, when Speedle talked with Eric in the lab, Speedle said to Eric---Her husband died...That's a big thing...Two weeks is not enough...She needs more time...---That means she only took two weeks away from her work and then came back to her work...Am I right?

Speed told Eric "they gave her two weeks, she needed more time." She didn't come back after 2 weeks. She came back after 6 months.

I must have it clear: I am talking about unfair, is not becos Horatio had took Megan's place when she was away from her work...I am talking about unfair, is on the condition that if the system gave Yellina six months' leave but gave Megan two day's off...WELL, maybe if we continue this topic about UNFAIR between Yellina's and Megan's leave, we have have it who knows how many pages last......The show never tell us precisely how long they really left from their work for the grief...As different people may hear different potential meaning from the same words, what I get from the dialogues sometimes does differ from you...So let just stop it here, okay ...It's so funny that we have different hearing...And we cannot prove it definitely but just speculate...

Horatio took Megan's place, and it's nothing wrong, as I have it declared before...It's just unreasonable if...I said if...if they have Horatio take her place within her leave...I don't know how much it would be across the board for employees in the show's system...and they never mentioned it to me...I just believe...from we have known about her...Megan is not the person who left her work only for her loose, even if this kind of loose does cost her too much pain...If Megan wanna leave someplace and never come back, I believe she would have her no back claimed clearly...She is not the kind of person who left for her husbands' death without any word and then came back to ask for her work, for her position of the head of Miami lab...She is not that type...She has her priciples, I beieve...
