I think TPTB have done that for a while - I expected much more follow-up with the Brass storyline than we got. The same with what happened to Catherine and Lindsey. It's very irritating when they do that.

Who's Lindsey? ;) I agree that what character development happens on the show has been really rushed through to get to the dreaded GSR nonsense. It's Sam Braun for pete's sake. He's only one of the Old Vegas power players and Catherine's father. He's only been a recurring character since S2. Seeing him dismissed so casually still annoys me. It just proves that these new writers could care less about the show in general and only about forcing their "hot relationship" agenda of McBuggy and McWhiny down our throats.

I'm really bummed because I was going to go see Mr. Brooks this weekend and I can't find it playing anywhere close anymore in Chicago. The handful of places that are still playing it are inconvenient to get to. :(

JangoBear I hope you get to see Mr Brooks
that one is one my list of movies to see this summer.

I prefer Cath-centered episodes like Lady Heather's Box, Weeping Willows, and Harvest
that way you see more of her 'internal struggles' with each situation

Cath had A LOT happen to her in one season. I hope she is in some kind of therapy

I just watched Sweet Jane - and ooh guess what? Lindsey's 15. When the hell did that happen?

Seriously, Lindsey is like the incredible aging kid. It's starting to get weird.

Well I think they only aged her two years. Still, when did she get to be 15 ?

Drumchik wait until you see Catherine in Law of Gravity

It sounds to me like the writers are learning ageing techniques from Soap Opera writers! ;-)

I've got a Cath question. How do you think she would have reacted to finding out Eddie was cheating on her?

Yes, apart from that.

Would she have been devestated? Angry? Cry? Run to Grissom? Run to Sam to put a hit out on him?

I can see her running to Sam, just for familiy support.
I can see her telling Grissom maybe a few days later
after all her anger passed.

I think she would be angry and hurt.

I'm guessing that after the initial screaming & yelling, she threw him out of the house immediately. Her comment in who are you pretty much hinted at that:

CATH: What's to talk about? You cheated on me. I caught you. I've got a new life. (basically saying "you cheated, you're out of here. end of story")

As for who she'd go to? Kind of a tough question. I'm guessing it wouldn't have been her mother. I can't see Lily being happy with Catherine's choice of Eddie. It could have been Sam. She might have wanted his strength to lean on. I'm guessing she would have gone to Gil - mainly for the quiet comfort he would probably give, but I'm not sure if that would have been right away or not. The question would be - how long after Catherine found Eddie cheating did Gil tell her that he knew what Eddie was doing?

This is why it would have been nice if they hadn't killed off Eddie so soon. With him gone, we really don't hear any more backstory into their marriage or separation.

I've often wondered if Eddie told Catherine that Gil knew. Because we know that Eddie always suspected that Catherine and Gil were sleeping together - how better to really hurt Catherine by telling her that the man she relied on had been keeping secrets from her?

Last night I watched Where Are My Children? again and sniff sniff. No matter how many times I watch it, I always think Marg's performance is so great in the movie. And it's hard to believe that it was based on a true story. Vanessa has been through a lot and I really don't think many people would have insisted like she did and survived. I'm glad that she finally got what she deserved and I hope she and her family are happy together. :)

Thanks for the answers, everyone. It helps me with a fic I'm working on. You've given me some ideas where to go. Now, hopefully, I can become unstuck!

Marg is hot!
