I agreed they might be friendly to each other but not close. Claire might think Stella was actually a threat to her marriage because she was so close to Mac and apparantly Mac like her (maybe not loving her at that time) and trusted her. Stella is smart and beautiful. :adore: She could help Mac to make his career more successful.

do find it interesting that the second time Quinn offered herself to Mac, he refused. Presumably because he's in love with Stella. I don't think this means he loves Stella more than he loved Claire, and I don't think he loved Claire more than he loves Stella. I think he loves them in different ways.

Mac said Quinn was good at flirting. She definitely made her way to him when he was in some vulnerable situation. That proved Mac said he's not good at romantic relationship. First, his wife was a woman who pursued anything she wanted. Second, Quinn was so aggressive who was good at flirting. Third, Peyton who pursued him and eventually forced him to admit their relationship publicly.
I agreed he loved Claire and Stella in different ways. They are two different kinds of woman shared different parts of his life. They are equally important to him. It's unfair to say which one he loves most.

Presumably because he's in love with Stella. I don't think this means he loves Stella more than he loved Claire, and I don't think he loved Claire more than he loves Stella. I think he loves them in different ways. Claire was his 'first' true love, the woman he spent a considerable period of his life with, the woman who will always have part of his heart. Stella is the woman he fell in love with when he thought he would never love again, the woman who has been his rock since he lost Claire, the woman who got him through his pain, and has been the voice of reason and support in his life, his best friend who one day suddenly became so much more to him. So he loves Claire and Stella in very different ways.

like i said i agree with you that mac loves stella and claire in different ways. i think that nobody ever can tell if one of them is more important to mac than the other. it´s impossible because -in my opinion - that includes these "what-would-have-been...- scenario", for example what would have been if claire were still alive and things like that. but the truth is we can´t tell this and in the situation today mac don´t have to decide for stella OR for claire. of course if claire would still live everything were different, but she´s dead and nothing will get her back to life (simply the truth), so important is that in a relationship with mac (and we hopefully get the relationship someday, come on writers...) stella have to accept that mac will always love claire in some way. and i think she is the one who could do that (like i said before).
i think mac really loved claire with every breath. i think you´re explanation, macslady, for quinn is very logical and after all mac is still human and make mistakes too. maybe this quinn-kiss is one situation which influenced his behavior after he noticed it was a big mistake and was important for his honest character he´s got today.

stella have to accept that mac will always love claire in some way. and i think she is the one who could do that (like i said before).

I think Stella did more than accept the way Mac loved Claire. She was the one who assured Mac Claire still alive in his memory and his heart. She encouraged Mac to keep in touch with Reed. She helped Mac to deal with the conflicts with Reed. She is such an adorable woman. :adore:

Adoraboo, I agree with you that Adam will maybe be hurt at first by Stella's advising Mac to let him go (even temporarily) but then he will understand why she did that, and will invite her out for pizza. I don't think he's asking her out, just trying to make up and let her know things are good between them, or to thank her for saving his job, if it's her who finds a way to do that.

shell kiki, one of the things I love about Stella is that she accepts Claire's place in Mac's heart and his life, she doesn't want him to forget her, and she's fine with the fact that Mac will always love her in some way. She helps him keep his love for Claire alive and feel connected with her still through Reed.

Random note about Stella, Mac and Adam, I would love to see Marine Mac and Rambo Stella take on his father if he turned up in New York and tried to mess with Adam! Look at how they were with Sonny Sassone when he threatened Danny in Tanglewood, or with Pratt in Heroes when they went after him for Aidan's murder - Mac especially, as Aidan was his favourite. I think Adam is Mac's and Stella's favourite now.

Maybe Mac thinks he had make such a mistake to personally involoved with a co-worker before, he don't want to repeat it because he afraids it would compromise his work. So he hide, deny, ignore...his true feelings for Stella. If that's what he thinks, it is too painful and unfair to Stella.

i don't think he has any problem having a relationship with a co worker. But maybe he does have fear of being in love again. he doesn't know he is already lost. he is madly in love with Stell He needs time to figure out his feelings. And i think Stella needs it too

i agree with ya both Kikii and Debbie, and i also think that he isn't afraid to have a relationship with a co worker, maybe he's afraid that if he tell Stella his feelings and she might not feel the same way.. like you said Debbie ^up^ he's afraid to love again and if he alows his heart to love again, and he don't want to lose someone he love, he lost Claire and he don't want to lose Stella to, but i'll say take the chance it might change your life!

Oh my gosh, I love your idea... :adore: That would be awesome, Rambo Stella and Marine Mac... :adore: I kinda think of Mac and Stella like Adam's 'adoptive' parents... :lol: They are definitely his paternal figures in the lab, they have such a cute relationship. I also think that. We all know that she IS tough but...HELLOO?? who can just live over so many attacks, so many bad men...no one. Perhaps she sometimes actes tough not to make Mac worry. Maybe she she doesn't want him to because it makes her feel weird in a way.
And I think if she gets attacked again..(I really, really don't hope that but...) they'd maybe realize what can happen when they keep secrets from each other. BUT despie of having troubles with the cabbie killer he didn't let himself go in that way....sooo we can assuma that STella means A LOT to him!!

I second that! Both, Mac and Stella, had really bad experiences with previous relationships and that's why they're more careful although they know the other too well that he/she would never hurt the other...
Maybe they ARE afraid of a relationship at work because they don't want to loose their jobs, but I think that they'd be professional enough to handle it. And they know it. Maybe this is an excuse they use for the lack of smackedness... I hope so!!!

Hehe, I didn't notice that before, either of them... :lol: Well I now have all of the seasons of dvd, so my plan is to watch them from start to finish in order, seeing as I haven't seen much of seasons 1 and 2, I'm quite liking what I've seen so far of season 1, there's a lot of cute Smacked scenes, I'm on 'Three Generations Are Enough' I'm just about to watch it now. But yeah, season 1 is promising for Mac and Stella, you can really see that they deeply care for one and other... :adore: If only it was still like that now...

Oh, I hadn't ever thought about it in that way before, but I like that theory very much... I agree, I think that Mac knows he has deep feelings for Stella and that he has a feeling that she feels the same way, but I guess he's scared that he's got mixed signals, or like you said, he's afraid of an in work relationship, I also agree with what you said about them both being professional enough to deal with it... Hmmm... When I think back to it, his rejection of Quinn makes me think, that he's come to realise his true feeling for Stella... Gosh if only he'd act on it... Come on Mac, take the risk, she loves you back... :adore:

Steph_ I agree with you I think it was around Right next door when they realized their feelings; Mac rejected Jordan and RHL and Stella ((extra room offer!!!)...well she recovered from her previous relationships..and I can so imagine her going back to Mac and accepting his offer, since first she wants to and secondly because she doesn't want to hurt his feelings.
I agree with you gio. Their relationship in season 1 was unique. Back then I think they didn't love-love each other but as close friends. Stella knew that Mac was deeply hurt after 911 and she wouldn't afford hurting him by screwing up things with their relationship. Maybe she did feel that something could change ...but she didn't dare to let it happen since she cared too much for Mac...

thanks for reminding me to turn the tv on at least i could watch the last 15 minutes, but i already knew this eppy. but once again i love it how worried stella is about mac. and the last scene of them (when the team finds mac and drew)... ohh i like it:adore:

by the way the dubbing-voice (?) of the characters here in germany is soo strange. i really prefer watching it in the original and do this naturally but every time i hear the other voices it makes me smiling, can´t take it serious:wtf:

i think i can explain Stella's toughness. She is an orphan. She grew up lonely except during the short time she was with her older "sister" Mindy. So she learnt how to survive alone without trusting anyone.

That changed when she met Mac. In Comes Around she said he is the person she trusts the most (please correct my English Grammar. I guess you know what i'm trying to say ) so finally, after so many years, the Loner Stella met someone unique to her.
And yep she is tough, but it wasn't by her own election. Not having any family made her understand she was the only one who can help herself...at least she thought that...until she found Mac
