It's Called Cancer - LV/NY RP II

Re: It's Called Cancer

Jess smiled at him, eyeing the key on the counter. "I'll tell you as soon as I know." she said as she walked over to him. She reached up and gave him a kiss. "Have a good day sweetie." she said with a smile.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Flack smiled to her, kissing her back gently. "See you later," he told her before heading out. He was reluctant to leave at first, not really wanting to go to work, but he'd missed enough days and papers were probably beginning to pile up. When he got to work there was a memo on his desk saying that their annual physical and psychological evaluations were coming around soon, which, of course, made him groan.

"Wonder if everyone else knows," he said to himself, debating whether or not to call Mac and Stella and see if they were staying home for another day.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Jess went back to the bedroom after his car pulled away, practically sprinting there. She picked up the pregnancy test. She smiled when she saw the big blue plus sign smiling back at her. She went into the bathroom, taking her hair and placing a few curls in it. She was going to make a grand entrance to tell Flack the good news, and she was going to look great doing it.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Flack decided to leave a couple messages on everyone's phones to tell them about the check-up's if they hadn't all ready gotten the memo. It was a few moments later that Flack was glaring at the foot-high stack on his desk of papers. He didn't remember the pile being that large. Sifting through the pile he pulled out two folders that weren't his and soon returned them to their rightful owner.

"Wilson, do your own bloody paperwork," he told the other detective. Detective Wilson had been admitted to the job a couple months earlier but was already getting lazy. Flack dropped the folders onto the desk and soon returned to his own paperwork. "As you can see, I have enough to do as it stands," he then said.

Jess finished off her hair and then did her makeup. She looked like a model, she thought, but she guessed that was alright since she only had about two months to look this way. She grabbed the spare key, putting it on her keyring and then walked out the door, hailing a cab. She told the driver where to go, and withing fifteen minutes, she was at the door of the lab.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Flack had been mulling over one piece of paper in particular for the last ten minutes, trying to read Hawkes' slowly deterriorating handwriting. "No clue how Mac can even read this.." he muttered, tilting his head to the side, making out a few words but soon standing to go to the morgue to ask what Hawkes had wrote.

He had passed through a couple halls and was now standing at the front desk, seeming to be too enveloped in his work to notice Jess making her way up the outdoor steps and into the lab. Probably because he'd been expecting a phonecall instead. Flack asked the lady at the front desk to see if Hawkes was out on a case right now or somewhere in the lab, learning that the former ME was in the lab somewhere.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Jess saw Flack at the front desk. She ran around the side of the building, not wanting Flack to see her just yet. She waited for a minute, hoping that by the time she walked to the front again, he wouldnt' be there.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Flack hadn't seen her, soon making his way down the hall, scanning the glass walls for any sign of Hawkes. "Where the hell is he?" he asked quietly, soon winding up at the breakroom, and finding the ME there. Yanking the door open, he smirked. "Watching a J-Lo music video again, Hawkes?" Flack asked, walking over to the other man.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Hawkes turned his head to see Flack standing there. He was just sitting and talking with Jane and the music video just happened to be on. "Shut up Flack, I'm sure you've got her on tape." he teased.
-----
Meanwhile, Jess walked into the lab. When one of the officers stopped her, she flashed her badge at him and gained entrance. She looked into all the labs looking for Flack, finally finding him in the breakroom. She walked in and smiled at both Hawkes and Jane, she knew Flack couldn't see her, since his back was turned. Hawkes' jaw dropped to the floor and he pushed past Flack to get to her. "Well, hello there pretty lady." Hawkes said with a low tone. Jess just giggled and looked to Flack, wondering if he was surprised to see her.

Re: It's Called Cancer

"For my defense and for the record, no I do not," Flack replied before smiling to Jane for a moment. Flack was just about to ask about the file when Hawkes pushed past him. Turning, his eyebrows shot up. Supprised indeed. "Jessica. I should have just dragged you into work anyways," he soon said with a grin. Reaching out, Flack whacked Hawkes upside the head with the file in his hand. "Sheldon, down boy."

Stepping around Hawkes, Flack grinned to Jess, gently taking her hand in his and squeezing it. "Jane, Hawkes, this is my girlfriend, Jessica. Jess, my colleagues," he smiled, soon looking back to Hawkes and Jane. "She's the dayshift supervisor over in New Jersey and she's moving into New York and staying with me."

Re: It's Called Cancer

Jess smiled and waved to them. "Hi." she said sweetly to them. Hawkes just stood there dumbfounded, wondering how Flack scored a girl like her. "Flack, how the hell did you end up with a beautiful woman like her?" he asked. Jane was just smiling. She reached out her hand. "I'm Jane, DNA." she said. "Hi Jane," Jess said with a smile as she shook her hand.

Jess turned back to Flack and grabbed his other hand. She kissed him briefly before turning back to the two. "You guys, you're looking at a daddy-to-be." she announced with a huge smile.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Flack shot a look at Hawkes. "One word for you.. Conference. And I didn't see you there," he replied with a smirk before looking back to Jess, kissing her back softly. When she said that though, Flack's heart began to pound, a grin slowly spreading across his face. "Did you just say.. what I think you said?" he asked, soon wrapping her up in his arms and picking her up to twirl her with him.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Hawkes put a hand to his head. "You guys are having a baby?" he said as he looked at them both.
-----
Jane just smiled and nodded. She was happy for Flack.
--------
Jess laughed a bit and nodded. "Yeah Flack, I'm pregnant." she said with a smile. She was so happy right now, and she never wanted to let him go. "I love you so much." she said as she kissed him again.
"I think I'm gonna hurl." Hawkes said as he sat down again, dumbfounded.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Flack gently kissed Jess back, squeezing her tightly in his arms but soon gently setting her down and pulling back a bit. He looked over at Hawkes and frowned. "What? Don't think I can be responsible?" he asked the former ME with a smirk.

Re: It's Called Cancer

Hawkes just waved his hand at Flack dismissively and grabbed Janes hand. "Come on, let's let the lovebirds have their alone time." he said. Jane waved and followed him out.
------
Jess waved back and thn turned to Flack. "So this is it." she said. "We're really going to start a family, we're creating our future." she said confidently.
