Great answers, guys! I figured the title would be shocking  but I wanted to discuss the topic because it's an interesting one.

I will say this right off the bat--I absolutely agree with 1CSIMfan that if Danny was a woman, the character would have been labeled a slut. I think if it had been Lindsay who hooked up with someone else, there would have been people calling her a slut. I wouldn't be one of them. I think double-standards suck and I don't think it's fair to label a woman something you wouldn't label a man for the same behavior.

I voted the last option (duh ;) ), but on a serious note I would say it would either be 'sort of' or 'no.' I think Danny uses sex in an interesting way, almost as a bartering tool. He used it to "pay off" Lindsay in "Snow Day," which was in part a cute way for them to get it on, but also showed her as the sexual aggressor, as she was in the courtroom when she went in to kiss him. There was nothing sleazy or even very sexual in any of Danny's flirtatious comments to Lindsay.

And then there's Rikki, who admits to using Danny so that she doesn't feel alone. And Danny goes along with it, because he's trying to find a way to feel less guilty about Ruben's death, and if giving it up for Rikki does that, well, he's happy to do it.

I also thought it was interesting how baffled he was by Aiden's suggestion that all guys visit prostitutes in season one and how he was just like, "I have girlfriends for that." I don't think sex is something that's ever been hard for Danny to get.

I always interpreted Danny's comment to Aiden to mean that whatever girlfriend he had at the time was the one who satisfied him. I didn't take it as he has multiple girlfriends at the same time.

That's how I interpreted that comment as well.

Although, thinking about Lindsay's 'footage from your 30th birthday party Messer' comment in season 2 makes me wonder if he has had a bit of a reputation in the past for liking some action.

LOL, I always kind of took that as her flirting with him/teasing him to get a reaction out of him. I think it's interesting he just kind of ignored her and didn't take the bait at all.

I know some people see him as taking advantage of both Lindsay and Rikki but I don't think that's the case with either of them.

I definitely don't think he did that--if anything, it was the other way around. They'd been drinking when Lindsay came on to him, and well, as for Rikki, she flat out stated she was taking advantage of his guilt.

I think he and Lindsay started off on the wrong foot and there's now a whole lot of communication issues between the two of them. As for Rikki, it's just a short term thing imo and I suspect he will end up single for a while albeit possibly a 'short' while.

Agreed on both counts.

I think he loves women but like a lot of guys doesn't really know what to do with them other than the obvious.

I also think Danny knows what they want from him--Danny's very sexual, so it's not surprising that women respond to him that way.

So um, yeah. I think Danny has sex for a multitude of reasons, sometimes for fun, but a lot of the time I think it's because he doesn't like to be alone.

I think that's the crux of it...Danny's pretty insecure and he knows he can use sex to reel people in. He's likely using it in his mind to assure that Rikki doesn't turn around and decide to blame him for Ruben's death. It's something she wants from him, and given that he thinks he got her son killed, he's probably happy to give it up for her. And for a while he wanted to spend time with Lindsay, so he gave it up for her, too. I'm kind of curious as to what he'll say when we finally get to hear his response to her declaration of love.

Giving the original subject matter some more thought:

Danny doesn't seem to have any trouble attracting women and he probably could have slept with a lot more of them. I think Danny's abundance of inferred sexual partners could correlate with certain issues he has, not even necessarily to do with his love life - trust in people, being abandoned by his brother, etc. He doesn't want to be alone, but then he doesn't want to let anyone get too close in case they hurt him like others have before. The situation serves Danny in two ways - he gets the comfort he requires from the women he does sleep with while his perceived promiscuity hides a lack of self-esteem.

 ok, who were the 14 people who picked the flack option??

I have already stated he is a man whore  i use that phrase a lot. I also think Delko is a man whore.

Lets face it, if a woman had done the things he has, people would be screaming slut and whore. And since we are all females...it would definitely happen, since females are way more judgmental towards other females vs males. And if the roles had been reversed, ie Linds was the one to sleep with someone else, well, lets just say the mods would be working over time. I doubt if anyone would argue that D/L was just casual, so it didn't matter.

I own up to it proudly. :p

Seriously, though, I don't think Danny is a slut. Delko having random sex with women after Speed died (or whenever, I don't keep up with Miami that well)--now that was slutty. The quote-unquote sluttiest thing Danny has done that we've seen on screen would be sleeping with Rikki, and that's clearly debatable (and I personally don't think it was slutty).

I think Danny is flirtatious and whatnot, but that doesn't automatically translate into being easy. As for the Suicide Girl and the dominatrix--I kind of saw those (the dominatrix more than the SG) as being inappropriate advances to take because of the connection to a case. The dominatrix chick hit on him when she was a suspect in an investigation, and Nixon hit on him right after they'd solved the case of a murdered SG. I dunno, maybe it's just me. :p Sheldon was obviously interested in that hot chick in the tattoo parlor in "Child's Play" but didn't take the bait, possibly because it wasn't the most appropriate time. ;)

I think that sums it up perfectly. He can get close to people by giving up something that doesn't seem to be that intimate to him--sex--without really getting close and opening up to the person. The only person we've really seen him open up to emotionally has been Flack.

And yes, I picked the last option. If Flack has to bear the burden of dealing with Danny emotionally, he should reap the sexual rewards. ;)

I have already stated he is a man whore  i use that phrase a lot. I also think Delko is a man whore.

I think there's a big difference between Danny sleeping with a few people he knows for perhaps dubious reasons and Delko texting random women he doesn't know for sex. They both have their reasons and are coming from messed up places, but really, Delko's way was definitely more promiscuous than Danny's.

Lets face it, if a woman had done the things he has, people would be screaming slut and whore. And since we are all females...it would definitely happen, since females are way more judgmental towards other females vs males. I actually wouldn't because I hate the term slut applied to another woman--I think it demeans women's sexuality and condemns women for enjoying and wanting sex. I think that double standard is shitty. However, I do think if Lindsay had slept with someone else, some people would be harder on her than they would be on Danny, and likely the 'slut' moniker would have been thrown around a lot more. However, I think some people would have defended her, so some of it just comes down to whether you like the character in question, and how much.

I think Danny is flirtatious and whatnot, but that doesn't automatically translate into being easy. Yeah, I don't think Danny is easy either. I think he gives it up if he thinks he can get something in exchange for sex--companionship from Lindsay (at least at the time) and absolution from Rikki. I think Danny rather shrewdly uses sex as a tool, which is an interesting character trait.

I'm all over the last option!

Erm... I don't think he is. My honest opinion is that he is the one the TPTB think everyone wants to see perform (as he does it so well;)), I think the same could be said of Flack...

Hmmm... me see's a pattern...

Although going by what we have seen... if we were talking about a female character would it be seen in a different light? Would I think slut?

No. We saw Stella rolling around in the sack long before Danny and Stella has mentioned boyF's/ Dates in the past, that she never takes men back to her place... that behavior is just a normal healthy sex life, I think a person would have to sleep around a lot more to be labelled "Slut/Manwhore" in this day an age.

About the whole "Mark Slone" thing. I know, Mary poppins will never quite be the same again...

... Although, that towel scene. YOWZA'S! Although even he managed to give up his MW-ing way for the woman he loved... well sort of

First of all, I must say that the options were extremely entertaining! I laughed my ass off reading them!

Then, although the last option was very tempting, I chose 'No way'. In my point of view, takes much more to be a slut like, for example, have sex with a person you just met without even knowing his/her name or changing partners like you change clothes.

Danny had sex with women that he felt emotionally attached to (and this doesn't mean 'in love with', let me be clear!)
