Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

What was that you said some time ago, MD about leopards never changing their spots? We're not even talking Raymond here.
Indeed so. ;)

There are so many good points raised here that I wish real life allowed me the time to respond to them all.

I will have to come back once I've watched the episode again, but I thought Yelina's handing of things was pretty spot on. It was Horatio that was unrecognizable at times. Steven Seagal Tally - that's inspired and so very apt! I'm not quite sure if the writers intended it this way or if DC was going through the acting motions unconvincingly. I felt he was very lacklustre at times in Season 4. I definitely think he was in mission mode like Luce and others have said. Almost a 'no time for affection' approach.

The 'vase' scene and ending were well orchestrated and there were glimpses of the H/Y of old there. Geni's caps capture that nicely. As Sofia said in her e-mail, there is 'hope for the future', but:
Beware. There be Monsters Here.
and we may need the kraken to remain near Miami's shores. ;)

Maybe given time, H will get over his current personality crisis and normal service will resume!

Good to see you again iheartnickcath. Glad you were able to experience the chemistry first hand. They have it in abundance. :D

EDIT: Tally, I didn't see your most recent post when I was replying! Interesting we both said Yelina was 'spot on'. ;) I really thought she was too. Flawless infact. :)

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

Hi MD its nice to see you too! :D

It was great finally seeing it first hand, like you've been saying all along. It was really cute. She's really pretty. :D

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

Hey, Luce, could it be? Ducky's been converted to the pure romance of H and Y. Yowzah! :p
Well, knock me over with a feather! Pun intended, sorry, that's very bad! It has come to this. I am very impressed. :D This news is great tonic for the soul. :)

Perhaps it's the Goose part in me ;)

Or lack of booze  (That it might be :p )

Or just as simple that season four was so crap and it reminds me about the good ol' Miami days ;)

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

I thought the ending scene from 'Rio' showcased a little bit of the old Miami. :D

Perhaps a demonstration via pictures...

The Look Of Love...

I was so happy with the ending of this episode. I was one of those moments, that made me forget about season four.

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

I'm replying from school again. One of these days it's gonna get me in trouble.

I liked Rio on the whole. I liked the scenes with Horatio and Yelina, although H's wriggling is sorely missed. He was a little too focused, in my opnion, but i guess it's to be expected.

Ray is officially dead. *Sigh* I almost regret having to say that. Even if it's only because H didn't get to give him the asskicking of redheaded proportions he deserved. I definately agree with the laugh when H looks down at Ray and says 'I love you.' Then i think about it as i laugh and feel bad, because H never (to our knowledge) said that to Ray.

Ray Jnr. Hmm, what can i say? His actor's changed again. Other than that, he seems to, even now, be more, i don't want to say loyal, but then again i do, to Ray Snr. I wanted to leap through the tv screen and smack him. When he went to walk away with Riaz, i wanted to kill him. Well, not kill him, but you know what i mean.

Anywho, hopefully we'll be treated to more wriggling in later episodes.
Later

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

^ these monster only play with us the same way like with the promo pics. i do not belive that can be some H/Y relationship future, but family yes. to me again come this scene with Ray Jn. and H where H call him a lot times son - son this, son that...uh...sorry but sound a lot fake to me ... there is a hope for what ?! that H can ran way from his robocop shadow from S4 or that Ray Jn. cheracter will be a little more ridiculous ?! ok i agree that H was on mission in Rio and all his attitude was more 'business', but somehow i don`t got it... no one touch between H and Y ... we know that he have habit to calm down victim by touch them or to touch the body of already dead/killed bad guy... and now in S5 premiere what we have a lot smiles between H&Y...like some one here say i too think that now we can`t write theirs silent talk... something is change or missing - just don`t know what....only want to not care anymore .....

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

I'm sorry you feel that way Pusher. :( However, I do agree with you that perhaps the writers want to go the 'family' route instead of the 'H/Y love' route. (which is really too bad)

I think that there could be a future with H/Y, because it's been evident since the first season, and the writers intended Yelina to be a love interest to Horatio. - Maybe now they've changed their minds. We all know they do that more than they change their underwear.

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

I know that I haven't post here for a while, it's just a little difficult for me to participate when I didn't see the episode, sorry. :(
but all your comments are valuable and I enjoyed reading them.
Thanks for the pics Geni!
Their smiles are soo cute.

don't be so negative Pusher!
you never know.
From what I read I think that ray jr. is a kind of troublemaker. maybe yelina will need Horatio in the future.
or maybe H will face some troubles and he will need Yelina.
give them some time.

and the writers can't deny their chemistry. they can't. :D

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

All hope is by no means lost when it comes to H/Y. The writers do change their minds on a regular basis, so even if they have decided to approach things differently for now, that is certainly no guarantee that things will stay that way.

Over the years, patience has played a major part when following the H/Y dynamic. The writers like playing with our emotions - Ann D in particular. She has quite an evil streak, as we well know. Therefore, we constantly have these phases to endure. You're right Pusher, it would be nice not to care, but we keep coming back for more simply because our love of H/Y is so resolute and has been so for a long, long time. We are way overdue a reward!

I keep asking myself why the writers were so keen to kill Raymond off in such haste? It was all so rushed. Did they just want a swift end to that storyarc for dramatic effect? The way I see it is that if they wanted to keep H and Y apart in a romantic sense, surely the best barrier of all is an alive Raymond. Some might say that his death paves the way nicely for a future relationship between H and Y.

We all know that it won't be that easy though. H is hung up on the 'family' thing once again and he is still acting like Imposter H. I am hoping that the real H reveals himself again before too long, and maybe then we will see the development of what we all hope for. Ray Jnr could also feature significantly, as inge mentioned.

It is understandable to feel disappointed after 'Rio', but these are early days in the Season. There were some positive signs, so my approach is to wait and see and beware of the monsters. ;)

Thanks for those pics Geni. These are nice indications of those positive signs. :)

Nice to see you again inge and Gillian. :D

Hmm, think you're right. Must be a combination of the three. Whatever, though, it's ALWAYS great to have you zing in with a few well place quacks now and then. *hugs Ducky until her feathers pop* Heh.. :)

pusher please don't be too cross. It's not the best start to the season for the most part but as many have mentioned we did get to see Sofia TOTALLY own her role as Yelina plus Y is back in Miami. So we can take a little bit of heart here. Not much but just a wee smidgen.

DC's real Horatio has been missing since "10-7" so it may be a while yet before he makes an appearance. Kinda like rusty equipment, too long unused, creaking back into service. Guess the same could be said for the writing and overall direction of this series, which continues to find new levels of "ick and ugh" when it comes to er, knowing anything about the real Miami. Da gits.

Hey, perhaps we should start as "Please Help Bring Steven Maeda Back" charity drive. God knows, WE need some sort of charity for sticking with this lot.

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

Thanks Lucy, it's nice here.
and you won't get rid of me so easily. :p
spoiler (not sure if this is a spoiler, but it's better to be safe)

Corey Miller wrote in his blog 'And that Sofia Milos will be back in a number of episodes, playing Yelina Salas'

maybe she is able to bring the real Horatio back.
I'm sure *only she is* able to bring him back. :D

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

You're very welcome inge and thanks for posting this news. I've managed to mention this in 3 threads now! :D A 'number of episodes' is certainly encouraging. I agree, if anyone can bring the Real Horatio back, hopefully our Yelina can. :) If the writers get their act together that is.

Tally, would it surprise you at all if I told you that I posted almost exactly the same thing in Yelina's thread (Miami Forum) last night? Spooky, huh? ;)

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

^ It's true, she did. :p

Maybe Yelina is hiding the real Horatio in Miami, and she has come back to get him. ;)

Corey Miller's message is really encouraging, and I'm so happy that we'll have the potential to see the old Miami again more often this season. - It was long overdue, and hopefully Yelina's return will make that happen. *crosses fingers*

Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~

the writers intended Yelina to be a love interest to Horatio. - Maybe now they've changed their minds. We all know they do that more than they change their underwear.

 love this part with the underwear. maybe not only they have to stop changed their minds so quickly and also some guys from the cast team have to stop try convince us that Aerosol charatcer was big part from this tv show and will bring good change to H. blahhh

or maybe H will face some troubles and he will need Yelina.

will be shoot (at last), go in coma, lose his memory (from S4) and at last be the real H. hehe don`t think so. he is one big religious fanatic who kill for revenge and pray for forgiveness ... after this S5 start i won`t be surprise that he will use one of 10 God order - to not want the woman of ur neighbouring...

The way I see it is that if they wanted to keep H and Y apart in a romantic sense, surely the best barrier of all is an alive Raymond.

and my negative way to keep them away form on each other is to change Y character too - like S4 H

and in the end thanks inge for posting this spoiler for Y return for more epis in S5 :D hope she to be more smart and if this monsters try to kidnap her character, to run away as fast as she can form this tv show ;)
