Re: Horatio & Yelina #4 ~'The Romantic Real Deal'~
Alright people, here we go. - I'll stick with the H/Y scenes, and since I only got a few things down transcript-wise, bear with me. I'll try to describe most of it.
(One thing that made me chuckle though, was before the opening credits, they played the part of Won't Get Fooled Again on the show, right before the opening credits, and it blended into the theme song. )
Okay, the episode comes back from commercial, and Eric, and H are discussing how Riaz was released from custoday. They're discussing how to find someone who knows Riaz, or dealt with him and Horatio says:
"I know someone who does."
So the H/Y scenes start off very quickly in the episode. We see an overlay of the house she's living in, and it's a beautiful Brazilian-style home, lots of greenery around.
Yelina stands inside her house, putting rose-coloured flowersd into a vase. She's wearing a white dress, and her hair is worn long- as usual. She looks up suddenly, and then to the side. Horatio is seen outside her very large windows. Yelina walks away from the flower vase, to Horatio's position in a 'court-yard' type of location.
She smirks as she meets him, Horatio stares at her. Yelina says "We heard about your wife, I'm very sorry." By this time, Horatio gets down to business. He says "I think you know why I'm here." They get into a discussion about how Raymond (sr) knows about Riaz. They've known for some time. In regards to Raymond, Yelina has almost a saddened tone toward him. She says "A Leopard doesn't change it's spots." - Meaning she knows what Raymond was into, for the past few seasons. This leads me to believe she found out about the things Raymond did back in Miami.
Horatio says "Can we go inside?"
Yelina expresses her fear regarding Raymond, as he only collects payments on the drugs. - As far as she knows, and the audience as well. There are no indications that he's buying the drugs, only that he collects payments for them.
Yelina suddenly seems hostile toward Raymond, while discussing his situation with Horatio, and says, "The only person Ray Caine cares about is Ray Caine." Ray Jr. suddenly appears, to defend his father. Horatio sends him on his way very quickly. Yelina fears, Ray Jr. will turn out like Raymond.
To find Raymond's location, Yelina offers a very important piece of evidence to Horatio, which is a small bit of vegetation on the bottom of one of the shoes at their house. Horatio calls the lab in Miami, in which case, Calleigh answers the phone. (I am extremely happy to report, that she's lightened up quite a bit, and her demeanor is cheerful, and light-hearted. - She also sports the curly and bouncy hair, light makeup.)
It turns out the vegetation leads them to what appears to be an abandonned hut/house, where Eric and Horatio find Raymond tied upside down with many injuries. Horatio lays Raymond on the ground, he's still alive.
Raymond refers to Horatio as "My big brother". Raymond says "I just wanted to help my family." Horatio responds with "I'm going to take care of the boy." After a few seconds, Raymond dies. Horatio says again, "I'm going to take care of him." He never mentions Yelina. Horatio stands, looks down at his dead brother, and says "I love you." Before walking out of the house.
Later on, Horatio walks over to Yelina's house. She is sitting at a table, her hands cupped near her mouth. She has already heard the news, and her expression is one of sorrow, but no tears. Horatio tells Yelina he is making arrangements for Raymond's body. Yelina says, "Thank you. Somehow I knew it would end like this." At this time, Ray Jr. has dissapeared. Yelina and Horatio realize this, and Yelina tries to track down Ray Jr. via GPS that she had installed in his watch- Yelina explains for if cases like these were to happen.
Later on, Yelina asks if Horatio has found him. Horatio tells Yelina how Ray Jr. is involved in drug smuggling to parts of Brazil and Miami. Yelina doesn't look the least bit surprised, but she stands there stunned that her boy could have turned out like this, or that he is doing this.
Eric and Horatio meet up with Riaz, where a brawl ensues on a helicopter pad. Horatio and Riaz get into armed conflic with knives, where Horatio stabs Riaz. He dies. After a short period of time, Eric and Horatio discuss how Ray Jr. will be in Miami. Eric says "We're going home?" Horatio repeats, saying, "We're goin' home." (A nice contrast from the finale cliffhanger, in which Horatio stated "We're goin' to Brazil")
After some time in the episode, Yelina (who has returned to Miami) stands at the back of the Crime Lab. (The same set of steps, where the last scenes of Wannabe were filmed) She is still wearing her white dress. - Just thought I'd mention that. She gets a call from Ray Jr. They have a short conversation, in which Ray is determined to find his father. Yelina tries to explain that Raymond is dead, but Ray Jr. doesn't want to hear it. He hangs up and trashes the phone so the call can't be traced.
Horatio and Yelina meet up at the front of the building, in which Yelina explains the phone conversation she had with Ray Jr. Horatio says "We'll talk later" and leaves to find Ray. - In the episode, they find out Ray is back in Miami. He has confronted another man from Brazil, who came there with Ray and the drug smuggling kids. Ray has a gun pulled on the man.
Ray is about to pull the trigger, (A gun from which he aquired somewhere) as the man is egging him on to shoot him. Horatio shows up, gun in hand as well. Ray wants to speak to his father, and demands it many times. Horatio tells Ray that his father is gone, that he's dead. Ray wants to shoot the man, but Horatio convinces him to lower the gun. The man lowers his weapon as well, but suddenly raises it to shoot. He shoots, and then Horatio shoots, killing him instantly. Ray is not hit.
Horatio begins to refer to Ray as 'Son' many times throughout this scene, and the continuing scenes. All three of them reuinite at the front of the lab, in which Ray gets into a cab. Yelina stays with Horatio for a while, a comfortable silence between the two. She explains how there is a Brazilian term which means "Sadness we feel for happy memories." Horatio explains how Raymond's body will be transported from Brazil. After a moment, Yelina turns, and gets into the cab. She, and Ray Jr. drive off.
So that's what happened in a nutshell, I apologize that I didn't get the exact transcripts.
And I have to say on a final note, that I did enjoy a lot of the episode. I am especially pleased about how some of the characters lightened their mood. There were of course, some cons about the episode, but everyone has their opinion, so I won't let mine influence your opinions on the episode once y'all get a chance to see it.
Oh and also, to answer your question Leannethemouse, there was no embrace between them. - As for wrigglyness, there didn't appear to be any on Horatio's part. He was all about business this evening. I did catch a little smirk at the end from him near the end of the episode, along with Yelina as well.
