Holiday Card Swap!

This is just the push I need to make sure that my cards are mailed out on time this year. Thanks for organizing lookaboomerang!

I plan to send my cards out before Friday rolls around as the mail doesn't arrive or get picked up on the weekends here.

I plan to write a lil' Greek in my card as well. All it will be is

"Kala Christougenna Ki' efthismenos O Kenourios Chronos"

which translates to "Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year"

Hopefully nobody will get too confused .

I love the thought of getting all these "multilingual" cards... ;) Will probably write mine over the weekend and send them on Monday.

It's really weird to me that you all have real names for some reason! I just wanna write all your screen names and be done with it on your cards!
Weird to me too. Even when I know people's real names, it takes a significant amount of off-board contact before I think automatically of the real name, as opposed to going first to the screen name, then translating in my head.

Ditto that. Now I can go up to all the Italian people I know & wish 'em a Merry Christmas & Happy New year in their language. Of course it'll sound funny 'cause there's me with my Canadian accent trying to say something Italian . I'll just stick with Greek...

^ I meant to comment on that. Love how multi-lingual this board is and am looking forward to those holiday greetings in other languages. :D

I am also looking forward to the multi-lingual cards. A funny thing, this Internet. It brings people together who otherwise would never even join together. I told Mom about sending cards to Italy, Hong Kong, Canada and the UK, and even Mom was stoked! :)

 Italian is not that difficult, especially compared to Greek... And I'm sure your Italian friends will appreciate the effort! :D

That's true, but Greek comes natural for me 'cause I picked up the accent over the years. Italian, well . I'll try my best.

Oh, and guys, don't be alarmed when you receive my card & on the inside your name is written in a different alphabet . For the heck of it I'm gonna write your names Greek style for practice & so you guys can learn something new. So try not to be like, "What kinda bizzare writing does this Mina use?"

Thank you Dynamo1! I've got to buy my cards tonight. I'll send them out soon. Hey, my cards are english, 'cause I'm Canadian! I just gotta find a decent post card for ThumpyG, give you a taste of our winters :D

 I look forward to getting it! We have actually been spared thus far for snow! It was in the 50s today... but it won't last I know!

I have a few done, and will get the rest done this evening because I am a bonehead and left my school bookbag at work with all of my paperwork and textbook for my paper that I have to finish and test to study for. Perfect timing for me to finish these and mail them out by the end of the week. ;)

I am also looking forward to the overseas ones!!! YAY especially seeing the different languages. :D

I'm sending out my cards tomorrow. I hope they get to everyplace in time for Christmas. I've done a total mailing, so I hope everybody enjoys them. If you get a card with a Canadian postmark, it could be me. I'm relatively new to the TalkCsi, and am not familiar with everyone like some are, but I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Holidays. So far, the Csi: New York boards have been terrific, and I've enjoyed meeting so many people. Can't wait to see where I get some of the cards from. This has been a terrific idea!

Since I'm jewish I'll probably be putting something like, 'Gut Yontiff, L'Shanah Tovah' basically it means Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year, In Hebrew. :) I'll be mailing my cards out on Thursday hopefully.
