Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Pusher said:
wibbs thanks for all this lovely pic and of cours for this long long post :D for me is aways pleasure to read peoples thoughts when they for the fist time watch CSI Miami. and tell me after this u won`t fall in love in this Real H form S1

zippy and Pusher, you're welcome for the caps :) though hopefully I am not scaring everyone away with my long posts

zippy, I am sorry to hear about your Grandma. And Pusher, I understand what you say - my Grandma was in hospital for almost 3 weeks before she suddenly passed away, and it wasn't until she'd gone that I realised how much I wish I'd told her I love her and how wonderful a Granny she had been to me ever since I was born. I'd spent all my visits to her in hospital trying to be strong for her and my Grandad.

I admire Horatio for being so strong to be able to tell Belle this tragic news. That must've been a tough scene to film :( though it just makes me love H more and more, like he is the perfect man :)

love this sweet chat between H and this woman - innocent victim:

W: Did you know Horatio was the first CSI?
H: He was... the what?
W: In Hamlet. When Hamlet was poisoned and dying, he asked his
best friend Horatio... to tell the world who murdered him.
H: Okay, I'll tell the world.

*sigh* :(

Ooohh, I loved that too! Whoever thought up that line is a God. It's so sweet that scene, yet so sad somehow too :(

This is such a difficult case for H, and it puts him through a lot as we see him go through a spectrum of emotions to solve the case. Like here where he tackles a potential suspect in a dangerous tone (I smiled at that - I like it when H gets tough with the suspects :D ). And I like this too, when he's interviewing the suspect in his office and gives him a dangerous smile *quivers* :D

Towards the end of the epi, I imagine it must have also been difficult for H when he finds out Belle is covering for someone at the company, and he has to be firm but gentle with Belle.. Also hard for him when Belle tells H 'there's not much time' :( yet he smiles at her anyway, like he's trying to be strong for her.

Finally though, H serves justice to the culprit, and I adore this last scene where he sits with Belle. You can see he is so sorry about what has happened to her, what she is going through, and that she will soon be gone :( It's so sweet they way he is so attentive to her - when she says 'Horatio?' and he says 'Yes?', you can tell he is really listening and that he really cares, they tone in which he says 'yes'...just so...awwwww. :(

Yep, that's our real H there. :)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I absolutely love these screencaps Wibble. Looking at them I rememeber watching that episode now. It broke my heart. I love how Horatio can be so strong but so compassionate at the same time. I know I'm torn between Grissom and Horatio as well. I love both of the characters for different reasons.

Zippy and Wibble I was saddened to read about your grandmas. Sadly, I know the feeling all to well. Last year I lost my best friend of 25 years to liver cancer. It's hard when you get that type of news.

Pusher I love that quote by Belle. That is one of my favorite quotes. Thanks for writing it again. I remember that quote from Cross Jurisdictions when he said he was named after Horatio Alger. I was curious about that as well.

O.k. so I went and did some hunting and found a page all about Horatio Alger at Northern Illinois University. He promoted the idea of "Stive and Succeed" which means to push yourself to attain the American dream. I guess there is whole societies dedicated to this guy's teachings. In case anyone else is interested it's an intresting article.

I'm definitely going to have to go back and watch this episode again.

Take Care,
Dayna

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Sorry, still trying to learn how to shrink. How do ya do what ya do in including pics in sentences? Sorry dumb when i t comes to some stuff.

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

The program I use for shrinking is Easy Thumbnails. It's free and very easy to download and use.

To add a sentence - click URL and enter the link address as normal, click 'ok'. It then says 'web page' - overtype that with whatever you want to say and click 'ok'. :)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I love the pic Katpin.

I finally saw " Witness to Murder " * does happy dance * Showcase had it on tonight.

OMG that was such a great episode. It really shows H's compassion. It also shows that you shouldn't cross him when it's someone he cares about ( sidenote can't wait to see Season 5 in Brazil. The doctor's call reminded me too much of "Rampage" :(). He wanted to prove it was that guy that killed Eugene. I can't believe it H was in the lab testing for blood on the shirts. He was so determined to prove the guy did it. The last scenes with H and Eugene's body was so sad. It broke my heart. I loved how he was so proud of Eugene. I wish Eugene could have heard that. I love that H put down his badge on Eugene. Such a beautiful moment. DC has such an ability to emote so much with his expressions and his eyes. Wow. Great episode. Thanks for mentioning it everyone.

Take Care,
Dayna

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I'm so glad that you got too see it Dayna. If you have it on dvd, it is well worth listening to the audio commentary too. Very insightful - it's interesting and touching finding out which parts DC contributed to. :)

katpin, do you mean you're having probs with the 'URL' part? If so, I've noticed that you've posted links to pics before. Just do exactly the same, but when it prompts you to type 'web page', type in whatever message you want and click 'ok'. Like this...

Another of Lucy's favourite episodes!

:D

The program I use for shrinking is Easy Thumbnails.

but for me is more easily this program : Microsoft Office Picture Manager - she go with Microsoft Office Tools . this is just other offer for help :p

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Ah yes, I was just going to say that the DVD commentary for 'Witness to Murder' is great :)

Great pics everyone, I do especially love the smile in 'Rampage' very cute, but yeah my second thought was that he really did look old, it's the lines around the eyes

As for H's compassion that is his key character trait, he just wants to make horrible situations bearable for victims and bring resolution and closure for them, that is what makes him a superb cop :) however much it costs him personally!!

And Luce Hurricane Anthony, you see that in that eppy too, with Martin and then after with his wife, love that eppy too :D

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Thanks for all the help . Appreciate it.

Trying again.

One of my faves

I think I got it. Pics smaller than what I thought but.....I only shrunk it from 200 down to 175. Need to work more on I guess.

Exactly Liz. Another episode packed full of H goodness! :D

Pusher, I loved H's explanation that he was slow to get his hand up! I love how Yelina probed him about it twice and they joked about it whilst checking that car over with those super orange goggles! Hee! ;) Ah, good times. How I miss Season 2.

katpin, you're very welcome. Just ask away if you need help with anything. :)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Oops I just typed my post and then the page expired...now it's all gone.

Anyway I wanted to say thanks for your empathy over my grandma. She passed away a few years ago.

And regarding Hurricane Anthony, what I remembered most was when I saw the cut on his forehead, I wanted to dress it  and the last scene...H was so cute there when he talked to Yelina and the lady turned up.
