Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

You're welcome katpin :) I'll try to find that shot of him with Yelina over the next couple of days. And Pusher, I'm going to make myself sit down and watch Double Cap tomorrow - enough of real life getting in the way! :p

Anyway, I was thinking...all this talk of why we love H made me wonder - is there anything you guys dislike about H? even just a teensy bit? or maybe something you would tweak/change a little? By this I mean his personality, rather than his hair, clothes and make-up, but feel free to throw thoughts on those in too :) You guys are probably more likely to come up with something on this, as you've seen many more epis than me. I've only seen 17 or so episodes and can't think of anything to fault him on in the slightest so far.

Or is H really Mr Perfect? :D (though I think we've all persuaded ourselves of that already  ).

*wonders will rotten tomatoes be thrown at her for asking this*

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Don't worry we won't throw rotten tomatoes at you. :p ...Well at least I won't. I don't own any tomatoes. I'll just toss over a ketchup bottle. ;) (Kidding of course)

What do I dislike about Horatio? Hmm now that's a tough question, although very interesting. I'd have to say that I don't think he opens up enough. We're always left wondering what he's really thinking. I know some people like that sort of mystery about him, but I find that it hides him from the audience and I'd like to know how his mind works.

...I can't think of anything else. He really is mister perfect. :D

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Ooohhh, great question!

I agree with Speed_Cochrane. H's retiscence (sp?) to express his personal feelings makes me just want to shake him sometimes! He lost Yelena the first time to Stetler because of that, which turned out to be a good thing in the long run, but still... His body language, his face, has always said so much but there are times I wish he would speak up. Mystery is OK but there are times when a guy has just gotta say something or lose out.

Not a crit of H exactly but more like smoothing out the perfection. ;)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Thanks for all the lovely pics wibbs. :D

Thanks also to everyone for keeping this thread going in light of our earlier visitor and also for the supportive pm's I was sent. I was very touched! :)

If I had to pick a fault with H, it would be the fact that he keeps too much inside, as has been said. I just wish he would open up a little more and face up to things. His self sacrificial way of doing things means that he never considers his own happiness, but just the happiness of others. That is very admirable, but he's a little too stoic too often, if that's possible! ;)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I'm with Lucy, just wish he wouldn't hold everything inside of him. He needs to let it out even though I think I understand why he doesn't Tries to set an example for his team. It's almost like he's afraid to express himself but you know what? That may have alot to do with his upbringing. Being raised in an abusive home, hard to show emotions. What I love about him the most is his compassion for people. How he'll do whatever it takes to protect them or to help. He'll sacrifice himself for others just not for himself.

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

First - I think H is wonderful and very good looking.

Second - I wish they would bring back Suzy and Madison. When H works with kids - you see a warm and wonderful side to him that you don't always see with adults. I saw it with his wife - the time he said "I love you"...........

Oh well - can't wait for Season 5!

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I really hope we get to see Suzie and Madison again too. H is so wonderful with them. He needs Yelina, Ray Jnr, Suzie and Maddy to be himself again.

Faults? I agree, too stoic. Otherwise, a true legend of a man in every way. :D

all this perfect H hero start to make me feel a little irritat. why always he solve the crime case ?! did CSI Miami writers forgot that there have whole team ? good will be we to see that H make mistakes. he is human after all. and when the rest say that he have to be more open to the rest (Yelina or the guys from the lab), i think that H have to go back to his primary character. he is a lot distance from them (S4). yes still care for them, but not the way we know him from S 1-3. i personally want H to lose more often his nerves...

I agree with you. Horatio is a great guy with lots of qualities. He's generous ( a little too much when you think about it...), caring, and I could go on and on for ages.People look up to him. Why is Miami so popular? I think one of the reason is that it's got a charismatic leader..perhaps more then NY or LV. But then again, he's not perfect, and I wish that sometimes he could be stuck on a case, but be helped out by another CSI. But that will probably never happen : when you look at what people think of Horatio in S4, especially at the end when he's so angry, people want "the real Horatio" back. Being angry after so much drama is normal, or so I think, but it just isn't right for the character. So let's just keep him perfect in terms of human qualities, but give some glory to Calleigh or Delko...that's my opinion :D

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Oh, interesting thoughts on what you guys dislike about H :) Mind you, I've found with most men I've met that they are generally not very open with thoughts and feelings, so guess it could just be a male trait  But yeah, it would be nice if he didn't keep everything in. I'm sure it's not good for his health  and it would be nice if he didn't feel he always had to be superman, the one always helping other people, and let other people look out for him for a change.

Hee...and I just watched Double Cap, another good H epi, that I have stuff to say about :D though I'll save it for tomorrow when it's not night time and I'm more awake ;)

Here is the scene from Dispo Day I was talking about earlier, and managed to find the cap to illustrate:

Horatio & Yelina

Heehee, we get to see H looking shy in this scene :D

Nothing more cute than vulnerable H! :) (caps courtesy of Miami Style).

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

The coffin/casket scene! Wonderful wibbs, thanks for those. He's definitely a little bashful here. Hee. :D

If you get the chance, try listening to the audio commentary during this scene. ;)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I suppose that really is a man trait.

Thanks for the Dispo Day pics wibble :D That was a terrific scene. I like seeing a little bit of a more vulnerable side to Horatio every one in a while, and we certainly got one of those scenes during Dispo Day. :)

-That reminds me, if anyone would like the transcript of the commentary for that part of the scene, I have it. :)
