Harper's Island

Man, the last one had a good ending! I was like, "Oh shi...."

I'm really not minding this show. It's not brilliant or anything, but it's still keeping me interested. The only thing I don't get is why people go missing and it takes them so long to notice. Like, that girl who got torched in the hole. Trish thinks she sees her dog running around in the woods and she still isn't wondering where this chick is? What's up with that?

I missed the last two eps because of work and other obligations. What happened? I'm alright with being spoiled because at this rate I'm going to miss a lot of the eps. :shifty:

It's pretty much been running the same pattern. These seemed to be the important parts off the top of my head.

Wellington & Trish have a little father/daughter moment where he finally seemed to be coming around about Henry, & she also informed him of his wife's affair with Richard. There's some strange man with half of a burnt face who releases his vicious dog on them out in the woods. They come out safe though.

JD & Madison set off firecrackers at the mansion when everyone was there trying to get the wedding in order. Henry saw them both running, so he knew who did it. Henry then went to find the missing minister, who of course is dead. Henry finds a dead raccoon in the middle of the church, & a firecracker, so he assumes this is JD's work.
Abby's Dad arrives at the church to help clean up the mess; he later goes searching for the missing minister when his hearing aid is found out in the woods.
Henry confronted JD about the fireworks & angrily told him to leave.

Abby had breakfast with her father & Jimmy - her Dad asked her to come over & pick up some items at the house. Abby went while he was out searching for the minister. Inside the attic she found a bunch of photos & articles confirming that her Dad is ate up with all these copycat cases of the island murders from 7 years ago.

In an odd ending sequence, we see Abby's father pulling up the ministers (so we assume) dead boy out of the river, all the while Trish, Henry, & the other guests are at the wedding rehearsal. There, Wellington is axed in the head (while standing at the alter) with a falling overhead light fixture that convientantly has a blade placed in it.

It's funny though... he was having a change of heart about Trish marrying Henry and just when I was starting to like him, bam blade through the head. Is it safe to assume now that the wedding will be killed off? The minister's dead and the bride's father is dead. I don't think the bride is gonna be in any mood to get married the day after her dad is brutally killed.

Oh and Malcolm (I finally learned his name lol) went to visit Boothe's makeshift grave. I thought for sure the killer was gonna pop outta the ground and get him, but he didn't.

I don't know why we had to see that dog get killed and hear it yelp. I know he was an attack dog, but still...

Okay, so Hunter and Wellington are off the suspect list. I'm still suspicious of Richard though.

Does anyone where think that maybe Wakefield has a brother or a son for revenge against Abby, the sheriff and anyone connected with him? GregNickRyanFan, you guessed Richard... makes me wonder; he sure does have a sadistic streak to him, but with stuff like this it is always the least likely. Abby is too obvious.

Hmm. That's a thought to chew on. Maybe that burned dude in the woods is some crazy offspring?!
As far as Richard goes - nah, Im not too convinced he's the murderer. He's questionable, but I wouldn't place him as a murderer.

Anyone suspect Jimmie?
He seems fairly likeable so far & apparently has grown somewhat close to Abby's Father (someone please give me his name so I can stop referring to him as this) so maybe he has some kind of agenda - maybe his motive is to get Abby so scared she'd turn to him- he get's his girl back? Sounds dumb, yeah, but I've heard more ridiculous motives before. :D

I don't know if Abby's too obvious. It's she who tells the story at the beginning of each episode. So maybe the writers are going for the Oh noes, it was Abby all along! ending :p

Mysteries of the last ep:
Wth is the half burned nutjob in the woods? And that cabin (or whatever it was) in the middle of nowhere just happened to be there just in time? Or did I miss something?

Henry's brother mentioned he had one last surprise for him. Does that mean that the cat and the cut-off head in Henry's bathroom was his work?

And damn, I was just starting to like the dad. Basically, pretty much every time they focus one one specific character, that character dies. There was Kelly who suddenly wanted to move in with Abby in LA, and apparently was sleeping with Henry's brother. Then there was Booth, whom I never even noticed in the previous episodes, and then he gets shot. Then there's the other dude who wanted to marry the bride (Man, I suck at remembering names!), more focus on him, he gets the check, and then Bam!, he gets shot.
And now there's the dad. He turned out to actually care a lot about his daughter, and again, shazzam, the chandelier falls on his head. So is it getting a little too predictable or am I seeing too much? :p

Cat? I thought they said it was a racoon, but I must have misheard. Aww... poor kitty kitty. :(

the guy who wanted the bride was named Hunter. It would have been funny if he'd been the killer cause his name is Hunter and the killer is hunting people. Oh, nevermind... lame joke.

The deer in the bathtub thing was Shane's doing I believe to get back at JD. At least that's what everyone's thinking on the show.

It's funny, I was just starting to warm to the father too.

I guess the trick next episode will be to see who we're getting to know the most... and then wait for the axe to fall, metaphorically speaking. Or possibly for real, actually.

OK, I'm going to take a guess and say I shouldn't be discussing tonight's episode that I just watched because I'm probably the only one who gets it on Thursday nights (in Vancouver, that is)?

All I'll say is finally things are starting to get moving, and it's not just more deaths that nobody seems to know about. Good episode.

Apparently so. I'm still having to wait until Saturday myself. You can still put it in spoiler boxes though if you need to get it out of your system. :p
I'd probably read them - I have no self control when it comes to that long white box.

^^^ Exactly... and so I shall refrain. ;) I don't want to cater to your weaknesses!

How many do we have left now, after this one? We must be almost half way, right? I think things should start getting interesting now, for sure.

And I totally missed the episode.
I hate it being on Saturdays! Someone will have to give me a review, pretty please. :p
