Mo, I'm not surprised for sure. But it does makes me question some things and makes me uncertain about stuff. Perhaps I can't see the connection like you people do. The connection that H and Cal could do smutty and fluffy things and still have a good relationship. It baffles me definitely but I bet Palm is gonna come and clear that baffling thing for me

Initially, sexual attraction between the two was what led me to ship them even till now. But you know as years go by, you would expect it to evolve into something more. Which is what we all have yet to see until Ann D clears up her confusing mind and declare that H and Cal are indeed in love.
You don't say Lynn! Now I'm having ideas to hide potential weapons in me closet :devil: :lol:. But Palm has most likely did that so...
As for being 'guttery', I'm no exception. Heyhey! I get guttery sometimes too but not to such an extent until I would write a story about it. But being guttery has always been based on the couple you ship see. In this case, it's H and Cal and as far as being in the gutter, I haven't had that in mind for them. Strange but true enough .

Okay here's a thought : I've been watching a few of S5 episodes this week (namely Rio, Going Under, If Looks Could Kill & Curse of the coffin) and something hit me.
Before I go on, I'd like to pinpoint that I haven't seen all of eiher S4 or S3 but quite a good part of it. So maybe this has been said before but it only just hit me.
Nowadays I have the feeling Calleigh is really becoming the second in command in CSI. You know, she was the boss while Horatio was away, then there's the way that she 'brought' Ryan up and the way she looks after Natalia now.
In a way it's a pitty because then she works less with H and has a different relationship with him (and Eric for that matter) but I just made this weird connection in my head.
I remember reading about S1 that Megan was the other strong character of the show and that at some point H was somehow attacted to her but then Megan left. So, no, my point isn't that Cal is going to leave but rather that because she's become this amazing strong character/woman, the writers might have every reason to... let it happen... In a way....
Okay it might seem weird but that struck me yesterday.

Of course they can! It's Horatio and Calleigh. The Southern Bell and the Angry Irishman! The Terminator and the ... um. Crap. ANYWAYS. But yeah. Cal & H could pull that off, Caspy. It just has to be balanced. I mean, saying only "I love you" all the time to each other... well, wouldn't that get repetative all the time? Actions speak louder than words so you need the Smut to balance the Fluff! And even being all smutty all the time would get kinda hollow, so you need the Fluff to help the Smut live! It's like a circle. Fluff, the "I Love You's", Romantic Dinners, and walks along the beach during a sunset NEEDS the Raunchy Bad-Thing, the Backseat of the Hummer, and the 'Ryan Staring with open mouth and hand pointed going "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID!"' to survive with it. Otherwise, it'd be all boring and repetative and pretty soon, one would have to kill the other. Fluff needs Smutt! [I can't believe I said that...]

But that's because fluffy relationships [Like Daphne/Niles] don't fufill me that well when the characters are given such secual tension. When I'm watching Miami and Horatio murmurs "I like that tone", my mouth falls open and I always plunge headfirst into the gutter. Because, you can tell there's something there. But if the show went into their relationship and just showed them standing there, his arm around her's talking, I'd get frustrated and gather up a band to demand something that only HBO would show. Buuuut, that's just me.

@ Zoe: I noticed that too. In fact, I've noticed it since they decided to put Emily Procter second in the opening credits. That does not mean H and Cal won't be seeing more of each other though. I'm quite upset that CSI Miami always have the teams working on separate cases and very rarely work on the same case. Unlike CSI LV where you can see the whole team working closely on the same case.
But you see, Calleigh is the Bullet girl and one simply can't go on working without consulting for her expertise first. H counts on Cal and Cal counts on H.
