This is probably wayy off-topic, but I'm including Grissom and Sara in my project for school that counts and a HUGE part of my grade. We read this short story called "Chekouts" and it's ALOT like GSR as far as the "they're in love but don't want to tell each other" stuff is concerned. I thought I'd say something, considering everyone just tells me to shut up when I start talking about that story now, since I always connect it to CSI. =P
jaja that happen to me too
and more when I have to do sentences especially in grammar.. cause I do sentences like "Sara and Grissom.." and so on or something related to CSI..
In one of the other forums, someone found the following possible upcoming Grissom quote from a (possibly unreliable) source: "I've spent a lot of time alone, and I know the pleasures of small worlds." If it is true, who's he talking to? Also, what are the pleasures of small worlds? If you think about it, it actually sounds a little dirty...and I'm going to stop there. But notice the "I'VE SPENT" as opposed to "I SPEND". It's the little subtle evidence that keeps supporting GSR, in addition to the glaringly obvious stuff (DEAR!!!!111OMG).
Also, HA, slept together just once, my ass.
...I mean...everyone's entitled to their opinion - insert angelic face emoticon, which is curiously absent on this little list of emoticons I see below this.? That's all I got.
Edited to say: Oh snap, I've moved from "civilian" to "victim". I'm moving up in the world.
Or had one too many "Teri Millers" - gave up when he made a mistake. Work pretty successfully killed the mood in both of the dates we saw him on pre-Sara.
very plausible. i think this job, and the fact that he's simply not the kinda guy to go out, limited the number of possible canditates for a girlfriend for him.
Plus I have a distinct feeling that the writers might be a little reluctant to bring up a topic like that - sort of like impotence... I don't know, I just can't see them not perceiving the offence of the producer/star
exactly. i wouldn't be surprised if they just won't address the whole thing at all.
besides in my opinion it's freakin' to early for a kid or marriage for them. people, we just found out they are together 5 episodes ago, literally, and we want them to get hitched, have children and ... i don't know if there is anything beyond that.
so i won't go that far in future cuz we have no clue how is this all going to play out this season. okay, maybe y'all know, but not me, lol.
Anyways, GSR - Does anyone here besides me really want to see another scene with them "at home" (and no, that's not what I mean, you perverts )? I mean, I'm lovin' all the office flirting but for some reason I just want to see them at home not having to hide it. Not something big, not something ground-breaking, just maybe a scene with them coming home from work and relaxing with a movie or something. Or, in their case, some forensics text book. Or, if not at home, them in the locker room at the end of the day deciding whether or not they wanted to go out for dinner, or if they were in the mood for -to quote Catherine- "room service".
i would really like to see that as well. just no BH this time please. a black one would be good. i don't care what she wears as far as it doesn't hurt my eyes.
but i would definitely like to see a scene in which they are not bound by work so they could behave the way couples do. just imagine it. it would be the most amazing thing ever.
Here's the thing: I think Ecklie wants Grissom to at least know that he suspects. He's telling him to get his stuff together, have a breather, and after that... they can go back to hating each other. Grissom admitting he needs a break to Ecklie, I think, puts them at stalemate. He beat Ecklie to the punch, which may have been his intention. So what's Ecklie going to say? I'm making you leave? Too late. And E. knows that. So he's basically saying, "Don't think I don't know" even if it's just suspicion. Let's not forget that in Nesting Dolls he hinted at it as well. Ecklie doesn't understand Grissom and Sara's relationship - he was mistaken in thinking he could get either to fold on the other. So now, I think, he's a little pissed that she's his big champion and he's hers'. So naturally his mind, a little early, went to affair. I think he believes that it's been going on for a while, actually.

Or address it in a more neutral "our relationship is young" way. If Billy and his wife are, for whatever reason, not having children at the moment, it may be a sore issue. Much as he is an actor paid to read lines, I think that, like when we discuss the actors here, there's a line that the writers have to be conscious of.
Like when Sara was referred to as the "not pretty one" in After the Show (kind of diffused by the fact that the guy was clearly interested in the specific showgirl kind of look) but still.

GRISSOM: We... we both have the night off.
SARA: Yeah.
GRISSOM: We can... we can do anything... for HOURS.
SARA: Yeah...
GRISSOM: ...
SARA: ...
GRISSOM: Wanna read back issues of forensic journals?
I worry about the part that says Sara's angry at the end. Does it mean they're having problems? Or that she's angry at him for not telling her before them, as someone else said? Or what? I need my GSR and I'll cry if they have a fight hehe.

wanted to say the exact same thing sarah. it's a pretty sensitive issue and the actor's private life may slightly interfere with the script. but naaah, i don't think she would get pregnant anyway.

yeah, this kinda surprised me back when i watched the episode. this kind of comment is not only describing the character but the actress as well. and today as we are used to watch TV and there is not a single main character on any show that is not pretty, i found this line weird and out of place really. i wonder what JF thought about it.
but i think they got even with this when in Hunger Artist (or was it After The Show itself?) Catherine asks Sara if her parents ever told her she was pretty.
so to summarize it all, i wouldn't pay that much attention to this particular topic. and i rather distance myself from any speculations about Billy's private life. so the only thing that is left is to wait and see what happens.

Congratulations on moving up and I think and know they've been together in an intimate way..more than once... give me a break two grown beautiful sexy people.. who've had the "hotts" for on another forever.. of course they have...

Nice.. I can imagine something like that happening..
but you know what? something I also expecting to see is I don't know some kinda of sweet gesture or better.. a touch from grissom to sara..it could be while working in a case or something maybe in a break..something that surprise sara..that would be great don't you think people?

id love that! i totally agree. id love that kinda scene, im holding out for that sort of scene, I NEED a scene with them at home, having a real 'couple' moment.

ha, id love that kinda scene, and then for after he's said that, for her to have this huge smile/grin, and say 'i was thinking the same thing'......lol. we know what they'd do after reading though...
id like that, shows they kinda get excited about the same things, which they do, and that they have stuff in common, and that their compatible.
anyways!
Like when Sara was referred to as the "not pretty one" in After the Show (kind of diffused by the fact that the guy was clearly interested in the specific showgirl kind of look) but still
i HATED that scene. i really hated it, how dare they. Saras more beautiful i honestly think.
and Catherine really bugged me in that scene, playing the suspect and stuff, thinking of herself as usual...Sara just wouldnt have played games like that, she'd have stuck with working the evidence instead of trying to get accurate info out of a clearly insane suspect by playing him, while he was doing the same to her. saras one of the more 'i dont take BS' csi's.
Please someone explain to me why Sara is supposed to be angry at the end of the upcoming episode "Leaving Las Vegas"? Is she mad because Grissom is leaving CSI for a while or what is it? Has it something to do with her and grissom?! Could there be trouble in paradies?! Please explain that to me

Ha ha! Speaking of private conversations and forensic journals this would be funny...
Sara: Grissom! I have not seen hide nor hair of *in imitation Grissom voice* "Applied Psychodynamics in Forensic Science"
Grissom: So?
Sara: There's not really such a magazine is there?
Grissom: *shrugs and has a 'what can I say' look*
Sara: Ok, so you didn't want to tell me then but you have to now. You owe it to me.
Grissom: No way! I'm not telling you that I did Sofia on an airplane...I mean...*clears throat*
Sara: *laughing* That's bull you liar, you didn't even know her back then.
Grissom: Ok, fine they discontinued the magazine.
Sara: Let’s hear the real story. C’mon spill.
Grissom: Trust me you don’t want the real story…
P.S. I watched that scene again and I noticed that Billy's makeup is really bad you can so see it.
lol, that scene in unfriendly skies is one of my favourite flirty scenes of grissom and sara's. i just always have a big smile on my face during it. and i love how sara initiates at the beginning with cite youre source! and wont give up, then he initiates after she doesnt want to, and insists she cites her source too.
heres the whole scene:
SARA: I take it that's not blood.
GRISSOM: No... but there's protein in it.
SARA: Oh, the mile-high club. That means the two passengers may have had no
idea what was going on inside that cabin.
GRISSOM: (rote) You know, high altitude enhances the entire sexual experience.
It increases the euphoria.
SARA: (thinks about it for a moment) Well ... it's good. I don't know if it's
that good.
(At her comment, GRISSOM slowly turns to look up at SARA. SARA sees GRISSOM'S
reaction and has to ask.)
SARA: Cite your source.
GRISSOM: Hand me a swab, please.
SARA: You're avoiding the question. "Enhances sexual experience. Increases
euphoria." Cite your source.
GRISSOM: A magazine.
SARA: What magazine?
GRISSOM: "Applied Psychodynamics in Forensic Science."
SARA: Never heard of it.
GRISSOM: I'll get you a subscription.
(SARA doesn't say anything.)
GRISSOM: (calmly) Now, cite your source.
SARA: Oh ... now you want to go down that route?
GRISSOM: Yeah.
SARA: (smiles and shakes her head) Nah. Never mind.
GRISSOM: You started it.
SARA: Delta Airlines, Flight 1109, Boston-Miami, March '93, Ken Fuller. Hazel
eyes, Organic Chem Lab TA, BMOC ... overrated ... in ... every aspect. (GRISSOM
looks at SARA.) Could ... we ... get back to work, please?
GRISSOM: Yeah. I think, due to your, uh ... firsthand knowledge and experience
in airplane bathrooms, you should do the swab.
(GRISSOM steps out of the lavatory and walks past SARA back into the main
cabin.)
1) Sara was interested to know his 'source' for knowing-was she knowingly flirting with him there/teasing him? or just been herself, and it came across that way? and did grissom knowingly flirt too....i wonder if he even realised he liked her all the way back then
sara probably did, and grissoms reaction upon her telling makes me laugh everytime...you KNOW for a split second, he was wishing that guy had been him...
ahem.
but i know i wouldnt have that type of conversation with my boss at work, and that scene was so damn flirty,....
her flirting with him, was cute and all, but when he insisted on her citing her source, about bathroom sex-he kinda went over the professional line, being her boss, in that moment, he was SO flirting with her.
do i read to deeply into the flirting, would she have done it if it had been any other male i wonder...?
wanted to say the exact same thing sarah. it's a pretty sensitive issue and the actor's private life may slightly interfere with the script. but naaah, i don't think she would get pregnant anyway.
Agreed. And I think that the professional consequences are the bigger issue in this relationship anyway.
yeah, this kinda surprised me back when i watched the episode. this kind of comment is not only describing the character but the actress as well. and today as we are used to watch TV and there is not a single main character on any show that is not pretty, i found this line weird and out of place really. i wonder what JF thought about it.
Well, the thing is that, again, the guy was shown to have a taste for the showgirl look. Jorja does NOT have that look. And also, as a former model, I don't think she worries *that* much about how her appearance comes off.
The other thing is this: in earlier seasons, they definitely drabbed Sara up quite a bit. I'm not saying men are stupid, but often they can't tell the difference between natural looks and what make-up can do to a person. And Sara had crap make-up.
The bigger indication was that Sara had a few crushes on her around the lab. Which says that she was obviously likeable enough for people to try to ask her out.
I thought the bigger slap to her appearance was in the final Tammy Felton episode where Catherine mockingly asked why Sara would want a mirror at a crime scene when she clearly doesn't care about her appearance.
But that's part of "Sara". Jorja looks far different in photoshoots and at award shows. Lately the make-up crew appears to have allowed her to be prettier.
but i think they got even with this when in Hunger Artist (or was it After The Show itself?) Catherine asks Sara if her parents ever told her she was pretty.
Calling one or the other "prettier" kind of misses the point, in my opinion. People are attracted to what they're attracted to. Marg and Jorja, looks-wise, are polar opposites. Blonde, brunette; tall, shorter; curvy, streamlined; girlish, tomboyish.
and Catherine really bugged me in that scene, playing the suspect and stuff, thinking of herself as usual...Sara just wouldnt have played games like that, she'd have stuck with working the evidence instead of trying to get accurate info out of a clearly insane suspect by playing him, while he was doing the same to her. saras one of the more 'i dont take BS' csi's.
And I think Grissom's issue in that scene was that by giving Nick and Sara the case, he was essentially encouraging the two to fight. That may have been how he saw it. While he was stupid not to explain that to him, just as he was wrong not to explain to Sara that Nick earned the promotion, that's sort of his way.
I don't think he wanted a high-profile, important case to be all about moving up in rank. Therefore, he gave it to the person who already had natural seniority and who the killer was asking for.
While the scene was handled badly by Catherine and Grissom, it was still, IMO, the right thing to do. Grissom has always lost himself on the explanations.
He kind of just needs to learn how to appreciate that not everyone is satisfied simply in doing their job.
I don't think she IS meant to seem angry. They specifically seem to be indicating that it's ambiguous - IS she covering or does she not know? Personally, I see the scene getting cut. If only because: how would Nick find out before the other CSIs?
it was in that exact ep where the reference was made, after the show.
CATHERINE: Capital investment. Our victim hadn't made it to the show yet. Her
life was all about after the show. The right guy, the right meal, and after
that ...
SARA: It's a tough way to get ahead.
(SARA swabs and tests JULIE'S shoes.)
CATHERINE: Did your father ever tell you you were pretty?
SARA: (shrugs) I guess.
CATHERINE: He ever tell you you were smart?
SARA: Yeah.
CATHERINE: So, it probably never occurred to you that you wouldn't be
successful. If all you ever hear is that you're gorgeous, you can let
everything else fall away, and it can leave you in a very dangerous place.
Okay, the bloodstain on the top of the foot is round. Gravitational. On the
bottom of the foot, it's smeared.
...which did kind of make up for it, but i still didnt like that reference. anyways i agree though, they always had sara looking low maintenance and stuff at the beginning, suits and stuff, not a lot of skin ever on show, whereas Catherine was the opposite. always perfect hair (that changed very often, steaks, colour, cut, wavy, straight), always perfect makeup, the more womanly clothes, more skimpy. sara was always smart, but respectable, not that Catherine wasnt, i just mean, they didn’t accentuate saras beauty, or sexuality, like they did Catherine’s, which was probably smart, one to have two very different central women on the show, and sara always let her mind, and intelligence speak, she doesn’t seem very looks orientated, she doesn’t use her sexuality to further her job, or take her places....but i like that. if their making a transition and making her look prettier now, its probably to reflect her current happiness, but i like that she worked for what she has and never traded on her beauty. i think grissom respects that too, he probably feels comfortable with that too.
but i agree, maybe theres a small amount of resentment there from catherine, maybe because saras always never been short of male attention. and she hardly makes an effort. i dont know. the not caring about her appearence remark from catherine, i took as only a joke, i hope she wasnt using humour of the moment to hide that she was actually saying what she thought. i like that they seem to have a good friendship now though, one with trust, since catherine of all the people, rang sara after she thought she had been raped, i want them to get on, i hate when the writers try and use it against them.
Well, my move went relatively smoothly.. I still don't have the internet or cable hooked up, but luckily, my new house just happens to have a library right across the street! Yay! (also within a block or two? A skating rink, pool, gym, Starbucks, liquor store, bakery, deli, and other equallyawesome stuff)
I miss y'all and I hope to be back on within the next couple of days.
