I'm glad I didn't know the title-I was surprised by the return of Shane Casey. Good ep so far.

EDIT: Shane may be a scumbag, but I can't help feeling sorry for him-what if his brother WAS innocent?
IMHO if his brother was innocent, he would have done better to find a way to prove it instead of showing that insanity and a penchant for violent crime runs in the family.
I guess you're right. Turns out his bro. was guilty (where did they find the ring again?). Solid ep, slightly above average, if a bit contrived, but I liked it. I'll go w/ a solid "B"

The porno shop owner found it next to the junkie in the booth and took it but then later gave it to Danny after they found evidence he'd touched the body.

I have to say - wow. We got so much in this episode and it was still so amazing.

I will wait until I re-watch to write a full review, but the interesting part: why does Danny know so much about Hawkes? Fay, my slashy senses are tingling.

Hallelujah, we have the old Danny back. **runs off to tie him to my bed**
My first A+ for the season.

Loving this episode. Not only for hawkes but I saw other actors from other shows. Like the guy from 'Forever Knight' and now I'm trying to think who the actor was that played the police Caption. I know I have seen him someone before too. ;)

GREAT EP!!!

My biggest disappointment was that, on my station, they didn't have the next ep preview. :(
Me neither-I think both the Miami and NY eps are reruns :(; the Vegas one looks great though :)

Holy freaking crap. That episode was just...wow.

Whoa. Drama, suspense, a CSI in peril...plus we hear about Danny's brother Louie, Mac and Peyton break up in spectacular fashion and Mac proves that he's really not emotionally OK, Shane finally gets caught, Hawkes gets vindicated, andto judge from the last scene, he's DATING STELLA?!! Sigh. I was hoping that the inevitable Peyton break-up would mean that Stella and Mac might have a shot with the chemistry they have, especially since you could feel the tension when Peyton, Stella, and Mac are together...or even just Stella and Peyton. Still, totally awesome epi. Eat your heart out, Miami.

Holy crap, what an awesome episode! Why can't they all be like that?

Edward Furlong was amazing. Can he join the show? He can be the whacky, highly unstable sidekick they all go to when they need to get in the mind of a serial killer. Sure, he collects jars of his own urine, but everyone has their quirks. He's alright.

But there's something so disturbing about seeing him in this role, because he looks so much like Gary Sinise I kept waiting for them to reveal he's Mac's long lost son. Can you imagine those Thanksgiving dinners?

Shane: Hell YEAH, DAD!! WHOOOOO! I LOVE the Thanksgiving Day Parade! Oh, man, here comes Snoopy, man! Snoopy, dude. Sticking it to the man! Nobody fucks with Red Barron, man!!
Mac: Shane, eat your potatoes.

Mac calling Peyote Claire. Heh. Oops! Hey, at least it wasn't during sex. Plus, I don't think it was about Claire per se, more about the fact that Peyton is such a gawdawful name for a grown woman who isn't being raised by wolves that his mind is subconsciously renaming her. God knows I can barely say her name without dry-heaving. Mostly I call her Ramona. Plus, it could've been worse. He could've called her Mac.

I don't get Peyton's logic, too. If she wants a serious relationship, I guess Mac isn't the go to guy. Then again, haven't they been dating more than a year? Whatever. This relationship is zzzZZzzZzz. I don't get the thing with Mac and British women. He looks like a man who likes his pie ala Americana.

How come IMDB says that Angell's name is Jennnifer? Why the three Ns? Is this an Alexx thing? She's okay, I guess, but why does she have to be such a Barbie? For once I'd like to see a middle aged, big boned, butch woman on this show wearing a badge. Named Madge. Don't fuck with Madge. She'll cut you.

Shane's gone batshit crazy! Quick, send the drama queen in!

I fucking hate CSI Q. "What will be Shane's fate?" And then they show a picture of Danny arresting him! Fucking asshats! Who's responsible for this stupid contest? FYI, this is a scam, scam, scam. Basically every week you guys are paying CBS one dollar to put you in a contest in which you have virtually no chance of winning. How many calls a night do you think they get? Between the east and west coasts, probably more than a million. Probably more than two. And yet they only give away 10,000 dollars. Where's the rest of the money going to? Screw the man if he thinks I'm giving him my money away. I'd rather give a dollar to St. Judes or any other charity.

Is the season over? Cause they've shown like 374 new episodes in a row. I don't even remember what NY reruns are like.

Best episode of the season! I plan to come back later & elborate but as for now I'm gonna point what I liked best...

pissy!Hawkes is sexy. When he threw the glass of water the floor wasn't the only thing that got wet.
pissy!Mac is hot as well. When he yelled at the captain or whatever it was hot!
Edward Furlong is one f*cking amazing actor. The way he acted at the end took my breath away. He's one kickass bad guy.
I kinda enjoyed the argument between Stella & Peyton & seeing Stella get all pissed off. I figure she would kick some ass but I guess not.
Mac calling Peyton Claire. Oh, snap .
The return of fiery Danny. I missed him & I'm glad he's back.
The hug at the end. I love seeing Hawkes & Stella together!
Yay for Angell.
rambo!Stella. Seeing her own that guy in the very beginning was awesome.

Excellent episode!

"Don't go into art for fame or fortune. Do it because you cannot NOT do it. Being an artist is a combination of talent and obsession." - John Baldessari from "Letters to a Young Artist"

CynRyn, I love this! This is exactly how it is for me. Not related to the episode, yes, I know but I just had to thank you for this. My life as an artist has been sooo hard lately. Now I feel better!

Things I liked

1.Breakup, breakup *dances for joy* Ahem. Sorry, it's the Smacked in me.
2.PissyMac. Always yummy
3.RamboStella. Awesome as well
4. Continuity. We still don't know what's up with Louie but at least he's being mentioned.
5. PissyDanny. Always a plus
6.Hawkes skin. Yum.

My one gripe is that it's inconsistant to pull them off this case and not Aiden, Danny or Stella's cases.

Hmm I would say there'd have to be a hearing to formally close the case...shouldn't be any trouble there. I wonder if that would expunge Hawkes's record or just drop the charges and the expunging is something that would be undertaken later.

Obviously NY doesn't have LV's "any arrest at all and you're fired" policy.

I totally agree about pissy!Hawkes!

pissy!Mac was great too!

I also liked that Flack had Mac's back when it came to the Capt. getting on Mac's case for talking to Hawkes. Good to see that even though they have had words over that past few weeks, Flack is still on Mac's side. :)

Stella being there for Hawkes when he was released was way cool.

Great eppy! :D

Amazing episode, all around. My first A+ for the season I believe, and well deserved! Loved the Return of the Drama Queen, when Danny got in the Sheriff's (?) face. Pissy!Hawkes? Very very fine. And how many times do we get to see Mac forcibly removed from a locked interrogation room, kicking and screaming? And oh the irony, Grasshopper Flack has to go calm Papasan Mac down. Loved it!

I enjoy watching the team on this show go to bat for eachother. Yeah, they don't always agree, as we've seen in the past few weeks, but when it comes to really having eachother's backs, they'll do it no matter what the cost to themselves. Loved it.

Edward Furlong? Sheer brilliance, the guy is so damn good in this role. I agree with whomever said above, I'd love to see them keep him around, a la Hannibal the Cannibal, as the go-to guy they interview from jail when they need to get inside another bad guy's mind (yeah, it's hackneyed, but lemme dream for awhile ). Furlong is simply too good to let go this soon. My jaw dropped to my chest during the first scene they showed him, calmly visiting Hawkes in jail as his "lawyer" - and a hysterical Hawkes trying to convince the guards that this geeky, well dressed guy was an escaped serial killer. "Trust the System, Sheldon". I was yelling at my TV set, thank goodness for the several glasses of wine I drank to still my pounding heart

Thank goodness I taped this one, because it's definitely worth a re-watch or three. :D

I enjoyed watching how the CSI:NY team acted as one in helping Dr. Hawkes clear his name despite the team being taking off the case due to conflict of interest. Of course, it was great to see how Hill Harper unfolded emotionally...he placed power/heart into it; I like that. Yes, Hill looked marvelous! Ah, the writers did a fine job integrating the two crime scenes. Now, for the record...ya know...Hill (Doc) can run with me anytime and he doesn’t even have to worry about getting into trouble! Kudos to CSI:NY (great acting)!!! Grade: A+

I loved this storyline, just flat out awesome. Great acting, great plotline and I don't if its been mentioned, but also GREAT music for both the Shane Casey episodes. Really haunting, creepy...really added alot to the episode. A+.
