Good episode...thumbs up to the writers for getting some things right 
... it was entertaining, bloody, and the momentum kept up through the whole thing. I'll admit by the end I was less concerned with who the judge's killer was than I was with Danny's situation, and I could almost sympathize with the kids for doing what they did...almost...it was bloody and horrific and I honestly don't know if I believed the story the older brother told...was he just saving his little brother's butt? Neither really looked capable of the crime, but that's why I don't arrest people, lol...
YAY to all the Flack scenes...my little fangirl heart was palpitating this epi... Loved that he is such a concerned friend (almost borderlined on stalker- but we'll let it slide coz Danny definately needed it); Man when he wants to find someone, he sure knows how to go about it :lol:. Danny seemed a little ungrateful at the end for all the work Flack put in and the support he offered, but I guess it can be attributed to his guilt-ridden angst... I found the tough love a little sexy And Danny on his bike *drool* me wants a ride :devil: Flack may have come off a little rough towards Danny, but Danny definately needed it.
I totally got the impression that Lindsay and Danny are not a couple from this episode. Her reaction to his not being there and not answering his phone, to me was not girlfriend-ish. Yeah she covered for him, ballzy of her to lie to Mac flat out...sheesh...he certainly thinks there's more goin on between them, and doesn't seem to mind - he's probably thinkin "Ahhh young love, so sweet", lmao. If he was my boyfriend, and I was concerned, I would have left work myself, if I could have, as well as enlisting the help of the best friend. Clearly Danny is distressed, and has been since Ruben's death. Hey, Lindsay - RED FLAG!!! So my official stance on the D/L thing is office romance that they are tryin to make work, but don't necessarily know how to go about it. No one is smitten with anyone anymore, the butterflies are obviously gone...which is a sign to duck and cover...get out while the gettin's good; on to bigger and better things ...
Speakin of bigger and better!!!!!! Flack and Angell...who else caught the look at the beginning of the episode? I was thinking "somethin's goin on between them"...cut to the end, and her showin up at his desk in a smexy trench (which I so want), him inviting her for an irish coffee *tee hee, the Irish really know how to get it done :devil:*, and he called her Jess...*giant fangirl SQUEEEEE!!!!* and 10/10 for cuteness!!! Made me so happy - they should really continue with this, they have some major hot chemistry - rather see them rollin around on a pool table any day! *squeee!!!*
Mac, Stella, and Hawkes make a good team...I liked that Hawkes was actually in this episode for more than a brief moment! He's so awesome..and i didn't realize how tall he was till he was next to Stella and Mac, lol...

I have to give it an A- but ONLY because the main case... well.. I wasn't interested in it in the SLIGHTEST. They paired such a POWERFUL plot with so many amazing moments of characterization for Danny and Don that I ended up not caring in the slightest about the primary plot, and just got aggravated that it was wasting time between this little epilogue to the 'Child's Play' story. Sad thing is when I was tuned into the A plot I thought it was pretty decent... too bad I zoned out.
Other than that, it was a GREAT episode.
I'm just wondering WHY they changed Jennifer to JESSICA??? Jess Angell... oook.

I really enjoyed this episode, but like others have mentioned I didn't really care about the case involving the judge!
The continuation from Child's play was excellent. I liked how you didn't know what Danny was up to until Flack found him, it kept you guessing about what was going on.
I didn't find Lindsay as annoying in this episode but she did seem disconnected with what was going on with Danny by the end of the episode. What i mean is she was all concerned at the beginning, checking in with Don and vice versa, then it all stopped. I found that slightly odd, but "the boys" were on a important task so i guess it wasn't necessary to constantly check in. Just seemed a little weird, esp if they are supposed to be a couple.
Once again, the best part of the episode for me was Don! That man is amazing and Eddie does an excellent job in portraying a friend and a cop. LOVED the interaction with Angell, the smiles, the looks between them what chemistry; now that is a relationship for Don I can support (I hated that chic from Epi. 3,)
Let me say, I love it when they call him Don rather than Flack and they did that a lot in this epi. To me it signifies a move from the professional relationship to that of friendship. Like when he asked "Jess" to escort Ricki into the other room, it was a friendly tone rather than a professional command (if that makes any sense! sorry, it's been a long day)
I liked how Don gave Danny the ultimatum of bringing Ricki back to the department. It shows Don knew Danny wasn't thinking clearly. I was alittle annoyed with how danny acted at the end of the epi, but i think it's understandable to a certain degree.

The case was interesting. It kept me interested till the end though I had it figured out halfway through again. It was the first CSI of any form that I've watched in a bit.
What saved it for me and made it awesome was my shipper heart melted at the Don and Danny moments. The scenes between those two were Wow tonight.

I have to disagree I think they are together and not making a big deal about it. He was not answering his phone when Flack called him. Gez had to get the Sup to open his apartment and had to call dispatch to get him Danny’s location. He did not want to be found and did not want help from anyone. His day started hours after her and he was not calling anyone for help or even let them know what’s going. He clearly wanted to sweep the whole day under the rug. As for Lindsay not leaving the lab. How would she explain both her and Danny not being there? The two lovebirds skipping out on a day of work does not and won’t look good. She stayed to help him keep his job. Besides look at like it as if she was giving him a snow day.
When the judges murder was solved…I thought who cares when I re-watch this epi I’ll care right now I need to know if Danny is going to do the right thing. Don and Danny moments were awesome. After she lied to Mac. I was just waiting for him to find out and than go after Danny. Overall great show I am sure the other case was good too. I’ll probably re-watch it tomorrow. By the way I know this was discussed before but Det Angell her name is Jennifer, right? Great to see that I was not the only on who caught that Flack called her Jess at the end of this epi.

I pegged the brothers as the judge's killer from the get go. I wasn't sure about the daughter, but overall it was just another predictable case with the usual red herrings, blah blah blah.
The Danny story line was also painfully predictable. Rikki stole the gun, Rikki blames Ollie, Danny jumps in and saves her from making a mistake that will ruin her life. Flack is understanding but still mostly by the book. Blah blah blah.
Two things really bothered me. One is the complete villanization of Ollie. Yes, he robbed the bodega which set in motion the events that led to Ruben's death. He didn't shoot Ruben or even fire his gun. We get to see Danny and Rikki blame him, and then we get to see Ollie be a complete ass to the grieving mother. We get to see Danny come out and take responsibility for not supervising Ruben like he should have, which also contributed to Ruben's death. We even get to see Rikki own up to her mistake by turning herself in. We never got to see what happened to Lucy. You know, the one who actually pulled the trigger of the gun that killed Ruben. We can assume she was arrested after Mac showed her Ruben's body, but for me that just isn't good enough. This story line had such great potential and they totally short changed it, IMO. Carmine and Eddie were great as usual, but the way it was written just left me flat.
The other is the obvious 180 the writers pulled with Lindsay. Up until this point Lindsay has never been anything but selfish, now all of a sudden she's worried about Danny? Now all of a sudden Lindsay calls Flack "Don" and asks for his help to find out what's going on with Danny? Sorry, PTB, it isn't only Anna Belknap's poor acting that makes that unbelievable. You can't have a character be as self absorbed as Lindsay for two and a half seasons and then presto chango have her show concern for someone else. Well, you can, but it seriously damages your credibility.
We did get one questioned answered. Flack called Angell "Jess," so I guess they're going with Jessica over Jennifer. That's actually another thing that bugs me. Flack and Angell worked together once and made it obvious they didn't know each other well before that. They flirted a little in one scene, and now he's offering to discuss his day with her over Irish coffee and calling her "Jess?" Well, considering he called Devon his "GIRLFRIEND" I suppose that shouldn't bother me.

Hmm. The verdict is mixed. The Flack fangirl in me was so heartily pleased to see the Danny-Flack friendship highlighted so prominently. If there were ever any doubt that Don Flack is a very good friend, let them be laid to rest. Don went above and beyond for Danny, and God bless him. In fact, I'm sure he put his career on the line alongside Danny's to indulge him.
And yay for Clever!Flack. No matter how crafty Danny thought he was being, Flack was one step ahead. He clearly knows Danny inside and out, and I couldn't help but grin when he used his l33t Flack Fu to track Danny by cellphone GPS. I was mildly surprised that he was so adamant about arresting Riki Sandoval given his remarkably ambiguous attitude about the Right Thing in "Consequences". There, he was ambivalent about arresting a killer cop, but here, he was suddenly Mr. By the Book. Granted, I think his reticence to act in the first instance stemmed from sympathy for the collateral damage that would inevitably come from a dirty cop, but still, even I, a devout Flack apologist, must admit that the contrast in reactions speaks to a profound moral bias. Flack has a gremlin in his subconscious that whispers that cops and their actions should be measured by a different standard. And because he is such a decent guy and sets such a rigorous standard for himself, it is difficult for him to imagine that not all cops operate from the same moral compass. In effect, he doesn't see anything wrong with the double standard because he believes cops live at a higher standard by the nature of the beast. Cops are "good guys", and thus, have earned the benefit of the doubt by virtue of the shield.
Interestingly, he didn't hold the same belief in "The Fall". Then again, maybe he did, since he did his duty there, too, as painful as it was.
That's not to say he didn't have sympathy for Riki. He wasn't exactly quick to stop Danny's butt-thumping of Ollie Barnes, and I suspect that the only reason he did end the drubbing was to save Danny from further self-destruction. In fact, everything he did was for Danny, not because he gave a fig for the rights of Ollie Barnes, Because that's what friends do, and as Flack points out at episode's end, Danny is his friend.
And Danny...
The more I see of Danny Messer and the crack-addled hamster wheel that powers his thought processes, the more I wonder how he ever achieved the rank of Detective. I can forgive the fact that Riki's odd behavior in his apartment raised no red flags; Riki was grieving, and grief makes you crazy, and Danny isn't exactly on point, either. But how do you not call for help once you notice your gun is gone, not even off-the-record help? And how could he not know that Flack would cotton on to his shoddy chicanery toute suite? Flack might not be Ivy League, but he's not a damn crayon-chewing imbecile, either. If Danny had ever been in Top Gun, the name stenciled onto his helmet would certainly not have been Nostradamus.
Poor judgment has been Danny's hallmark since "On the Job", and he proudly continues the tradition here. Were it not for Flack and the feeble cover provided by Lindsay, he would have been hoist by his own prodigious petard.
And how Mac didn't see through Lindsay's cover story like cheap Saran Wrap was beyond me.
Danny kept his other trademark-gross ingratitude-alive as well. Flack bends over backwards to keep Messer's nose clean, and all Danny can say is, "You shoulda minded your own business"?
Screw you, Messer, you bratty, ungrateful turd. Flack has babied your juvenile, hot-headed ass forever, and yet, you left him hanging to kiss Monroe's boobs, er, boo boo after "Charge of This Post". Flack has been true blue every time the chips were down, and you've never acknowledged it. Ever.
Well, how about these apples, prick? If Flack doesn't run after you like a dog nanny with a Pooper Scooper, cleaning up the steaming, stinky piles of your Very Bad Idea, you're before the review board and probably bounced out on your ass on the merits of your stellar track record. Either that, or you're demoted to the motor pool, where the brass will be only too happy to let you fingerpaint in motor oil and get the rough end of the crankshaft under cover of darkness. So try a little gratitude, jerk. Maybe if you stopped confusing your bellybutton lint for Communion wafers, you'd see what was going on around you.

Ok, so it wasn't the most unique of plot lines but still I thought it was awesome. Especially for Flack. Flack doesn't get enough screen time in general but, not only was he all over the place BUT we got to see him in some serious not quite on the job interaction with his closest of friends. Danny/Don interaction like this, I'll never get enough of.
On top of that I LOVE the parallel drawn here and I HOPE Flack can appreciate it as much as I did. I am one of a small group of people who found Mac in the right when he arrested Truby. Yes, he KNEW it would wind up granting release to some of the people he put away but Truby committed a crime, and Mac's ethics wouldn't let him sit on that knowledge.
Tonight, we see just how much Don is like Mac whether or not he knows it. Here he is with Danny, and Rikki and suddenly Don is in Mac's shoes. Danny's begging him not to 'put this on paper' and Don gave him some leeway, help finding Ollie and four hours to do it. After that Danny still insisted he not write this up, but according to Don "I gotta do what I gotta do." Change the situation and he jumped into Mac's shoes so fast he never saw it coming. I hope he can appreciate Mac's position a little more now.
That kind of annoyed me too.. I mean if was goin' after anyone.. it would have probably been the reckless idiot who pulled the trigger, and Ollie... It was a bit of a cop out to villainize him so much, but if you re-watch that scene the actor playing him is kind of standing there unflinchingly at one point while theres a gun on him and suddenly I started to doubt the acting chops of that guy.
BUT.. she was just as self absorbed as ever again once Don was off dealing with Danny and she could focus on her work as per usual while her so called "boyfriend" is MIA... yah.. she totally gives a crap.

I found it kind of odd that Don's line was about telling her later over coffee... I find it REALLY hard to believe he's suddenly willing to sit down with Jen...Jess.. whatever her name is and tell her all the gory details about what happened with Danny and Rikki today.
I don't think Don would do that to his friend after all they went to today, to keep it under wraps.And finally, I did find it funny that those exchanged lines between Flack and Angell
"over Irish coffee..."
"I think I know just the place.."
In TWO lines those two have managed to display more chemistry than Danny and Lindsay have since the pool table... the pool table which I didn't see in Dan's apt...
I kind of did too. I mean when she spoke to Flack it made it sound like she hadn't seen him that day, she hadn't seen him his day off before, and god knows when she actually SAW him last. I would think if I was dating someone, going through something like Danny is atm, I might be a LITTLE more tuned into their life.
Later when Don mentioned Ollie's name she sounded like she could barely even remember who he was! If that's her idea of being in a relationship I feel bad for Danny. I'm not saying she didn't act like a friend, but really.. a fair weather friend at best.
