Gil <3 Cath #29: PureJoy–Enough Chemistry to Power Vegas

I was just speaking in general. I've come across a lot of good G/C, B/M pics and I'm sure most of you have seen them before considering some of them have been posted on here.:lol: Whenever a pic pops up, there always a great conversation that follows.

I just get a feeling that Cath and Calleigh would get along really well and be really good friends. I don't know why. But then again, Calleigh's a pretty friendly person, she'd get along with almost anyone. :lol:

Yeah, I agree. I think if they really got to know one another, they'd be good friends. There's some similiarities in the way they do their jobs.

Spoiler: why I'm sad-show spoilers

Billy is leaving CSI after the tenth ep. It makes it sound like Grissom will leave with Sara. I hope to god they don't have them ride off into the sunset together and get married. I will seriously puke! But, since he's leaving, it looks like we won't get anymore Gil/Cath scenes.

I guess I'll have to switch to shipping Cath/Vartann. Wish they'd bring Vartann back as a full time cast member. They're adding Wendy (Liz Vassey) to the full time cast. So now we'll have Billy (up to ep 10), Marg, George, Lauren Lee Smith, Eric, Wallace Langham, Liz Vassey, Doc Robbins, David Berman and Paul Guilfoyle in the opening credits.

Some suggestions for Billy's replacement have been: Andre Braugher - cool actor, not sure he'd fit with the CSI cast though, Laurence Fishbourne- Morpheous on CSI? :lol: I dunno how that'd work... Keanu maybe, but that will never happen. :lol: John Malkovich- maybe as a guest star, but not regular, wouldn't fit with rest of them. I could see him playing a villian though.

Kurt Russell- would be cool, but I can't see him agreeing to do the show as a regular. Bill Pullman- oh heck yeah, please! Loved him ever since I saw "Spaceballs". :lol: And we know he can play strong in charge characters cause he did it in ID4! John Schneider- Love this idea too! I miss him on Smallville so much. :lol: He's like a fine wine, gets better with age (actually, I don't drink wine, so I wouldn't know about that. :lol: ). Eric Roberts- maybe... could work. Like him. Jonathan Frakes - hmm... maybe, I dunno if he'd fit in with the cast. :lol: Maybe that guy that played Sledge Hammer... can't think of his name, but he was hilarious on that show. :lol: Forrest Whitaker- can't see him as a regular. Who is Jay Karnes? Who is Brian J. White? The only Bryan White I know is the country singer. :lol: Alex O'Lauglin- Mitch from Moonlight... well, he's free now that Moonlight has been cancelled. I could see him on there. Maybe Michael Landes (Nick from Special Unit 2) as CSI in Warrick's slot. Then we'd have two people from SU2 as regulars in the CSI franchise (Jonathan Togo who plays Ryan on Miami was also a regular on SU2). They could also bring Sophia back and make her supervisor in Gil's place... since she was demoted before for taking Gil's side (she was supervisor of the dayshift I think).

I'd love it if the show brought in Vincent Ventresca (Invisible Man) as the new CSI to fill Warrick's position. I think he'd fit in great with the rest of the cast. I can see him and Nick and him and Greg getting along really well. I think his character could be like a cross between Nick and Greg. Kind of serious like Nick, yet great sense of humor like Greg... and playful like Greg.

The fact that Billy's leaving has really upset me too. Not sure that it's classified as a spoiler, cause it's in the news section at the side... It's upset me more, that he said his departure will envolve Sara... I think that Catherine, will take Gil's place as graveshift supervisor, cause she is the next most experienced of the team...

I'm going to miss all that goes on with Gil and Cath, they have such great chemostry on the show, losing Billy, will be a huge lose to the show in my opinion. I guess we'll just have to make the most of our last 10 eps, they better have good Purejoy scenes. But on the brightside, he's not leaving for good, he's going to come back as a reoccuring character.

Yeah, I'm thinking of writing a fic where he retires and Cath takes his place and that way (with him retiring) they can date each other. And then I'm thinking of writing an alt version of the same fic where Gil leaves, Cath becomes supervisor and dates Vartann. Cause I love both ships... and with him leaving, it seems plausible that there won't be any Gil/Cath hookup on the show (unfortunately for us). I still love Purejoy though.

Yeah, they should definitely keep the kids away from Hodges... he'd probably try to turn them into little trekkies! Uncle Archie will most likely teach them the fun aspects about computers... do you think he'd teach them how to hack. I don't think so 'cause Gil would probably fire him if he does. For some reason I can picture the kids asking Gil and Cath about why uncle Nicky talks funny! That Texan accent would probably sound weird to them. He's what?! Oh man, he's leaving? I don't like the fact that it'll involve Sara... I'm gonna miss him so much though! On the bright side, since he is coming back often, there's still might be a smidge of a chance for PureJoy chemistry to stay alive. Aww, I can totally imagine them asking that about Nicky, aww, that would be so cute. :lol: Greg would have the kids on such a sugar high, I think Gil might ban him from ever being alone with them again. :lol: But the kids would hate that...

I totally agree, even if they aren't together, they are such close friends, that it would be totally stupid for them not to see eachother or speak to one and other or talk about one and other... I'm so glad that he will be a re occuring character, hopefully, we'll get some cute scenes then... *Here's hoping*

This news has really put a damper on my Purejoy shipper heart. :sigh: There's a sad day coming in CSI Land. Poor Cath. Whoever will she turn to now? First her ex dies, then her dad, her friend Warrick, her daughter Lindsey's out of control and now Griss is leaving.

I feel the same way GNRFan, the only person she's going to have left is Nicky... But like I said before, they can't cut Griss completely out of her life, because they are such close friends, we can seek comfort in the fact that he is going to be a re-occcuring character...

Let's hope TPTB don't make Cath's life too out of control... she doesn't deserve it. I'm just asking for a great farewell scene between Gil and Cath and then plenty of visits... they can't cut Gil out of her life. So season ten better be full of PureJoy moments and I hope that the moments will continue after season ten. Who knows, maybe something will happen... *crosses fingers*

When Grissom leaves, it actually opens up MORE opportunity for our ship. Because they can actually be together in the open rather than hiding it. There's no reason to now that they're not working together. And I could see PLENTY of visits between the two.

The one thing that I am not going to be happy is that if they replace "Grissom" then Catherine doesn't get to be supervisor of the whole team.

On the plus side, maybe she'll still get to be a kind of mentor for Wendy?

I think it opens a whole new lot of possibilities up for our ship, so I'm not TOO sad about it.

Even if we never saw Grissom again - we SO know that G and C are getting it on behind the scenes

I dunno... I'm worried that with Sara returning and now Grissom leaving that they may have them leave together which would definitely kill the whole Purejoy thing. Hopefully they won't be cheesy like that though. Yeah, Cath could be a mentor to Wendy.

PureJoy could never be killed. We have too many great CG fiction writers and CG have too much of a history together to end their chemistry.

If anything did, he could come back and seek comfort in the arms of his best friend... I'm just hoping that when he leaves, he isn't cut out, cause what's Cath going to do with the only man she could ever rely on!?

Yeah, there's always a possibility that things won't work out... I mean, it didn't exactly work out the first time. Remember, Sara left Gil. I would like to see Gil and Cath have a much needed talk after all the drama is over and done with... they've got a lot to talk about. I seriously doubt that PureJoy will die. By the way guys, if things don't work out with Sara, how should Gil and Cath eventually get together?
