Yeah, not enough Nick last night. It was still good. Lovely crying scene.

GE can certainly cry. I don't I've ever seen a man cry so much on TV-seriously if they gave out Emmys for crying scenes George woudld be a shoo in.

George Eads can cry his way out of an IRS audit.

GE: Please Mr. Tax man (sob) don't audit my file. I promise I've been so good.(sob) (sob).

And does anyone else feel like the writers are recycling old Nick storylines (but with a twist) - first Sara is kidnapped and now Warrick's striper/hooker friend is murdered (and he is going to be the #1 suspect)?

I know! When Rick was having his little romp I kept thinking, if she ends up dead I'm just going to scream "BOOM" at the television. And then (suspenseful music)... she ends up dead.

Yea the episode did scream Boom in some spots didn't it.

Oh yes OnlyTruth we got some lovely walking last night. Oh yummy overall :)

Something didn't sit right with me in the Nick/ Warrick scene. I suppose the episode didn't have much time to devote to that, so the scene seemed rushed. GE portrayed Nick's discomfort in confronting Warrick brilliantly, he was mad and then looked scared. I think Warrick just wanted to finish the conversation because he knew Nick was not going to let it go. However, I find it hard to swallow that Nick fell for that. Nick is the perceptive one afterall. What did you all think of that?
I suppose he could have been in some denial, hence the smile of encouragement he gave to Warrick when talking about the possibility of the warrant.
What a powerful scene.

There is definitely a parallel between the two storylines, however, in the case of Cockroaches it was more about the consequences of Warrick's drug use as opposed to the mere pity sex (as I saw it) Nick had with Kristi Hopkins. Nick's actions were a result of hormones and impulsiveness whearsas Warrick was acting irrationally due to burnout and stress and given that the storyline is continuing there is probably more to what happen that remains to be scene.

Additonally, the stripper was found dead in Warrick's car whereas Kristi was found dead in her own home. Warrick's situation is far more serious because of his drug use which will probably be scene as a factor that makes him a suspect.

So yes there's definitely a parallel to the Boom, but if I had to be honest, I liked Cockroaches better as it was a grittier and raw episode. I liked the stripper more then Kristi-partly because I can't stand Krista Allan!

a lot of storylines in the past few seasons have felt like repeats, but they seem to be picking on nick more than the others. cockroaches at least had some differences, the season opener was pretty much grave danger 2.0 but less interesting. while i did seriously dislike kristi, i did like boom better because i found myself bored at times during cockroaches.

while i do appreciate what they were going for with the nick-warrick scene this week, it was a little off. its probably just due to the time restraint they had in dealing with it, but the guys went from zero to a hundred in like 5 seconds with their emotions. they really hurried along warricks drug problem, but if anyone was going to talk to him about it, it had to be nick. glad they havent forgotten these two are supposed to be really close friends who care about each other. i guess its the 'man love'

I thought the main problem with that episode was that everybody seemed to be acting more out of character. They didn't seem to be the same people we were used to. Grissom doesn't get that mad at his CSI's (at least he hasn't in the last 7 seasons).

I thought the Nick - Warrick scene felt awkward. I just can't place why. Maybe it was because lately Nick has gotten more violent when he's gotten mad than he did with Warrick. For the fact that those 2 are supposed to be great friends I think he should have gotten a lot angrier than he did.

Overall the opinion I got was that not only did their special guest director not know the characters, but the writers were more concerned with their impending strike than they were with writing a good script. What we're seeing now may be what happens when the script can't be changed while they're filming.

I wasn't trying to suggest that Cockroaches was just like Boom. It's just that the general idea was similar. And like Boom, I probably won't watch this eppy again (yes, I will admit to it here - I have only watched Boom once - it was just too hard to watch, for me anyway). I agree that the characters felt "different" - and that goes for Nick as much as any of them. Everything about it felt like things were coming out of left field (whoa, who is this Warrick character???) and I felt like I was watching a bad movie instead of CSI.

Just a thought for us to think on. Is it me or my imagination but does Nick seem to be doing most of the work at a crime scene these days. Case in point on Goodbye and Good Luck. Nick spends all night collecting evidence from the dead girls dorm room. In comes Greg and within a few seconds he finds the tube of lube. Now it could have been overlooked but I can't see Nick doing that. It jsut seemed like Greg was put in for filler. I may not be making this as clear sounding as it is but jsut something for us to talk and think on.

Yeah, but I like having more screen time for Nick.

I want more, more and more screen time for George.

Dear Santa Clause:

My wish list is

George under my tree wrapped in a red bow

The writers' strike to end.

For George to take over the show, producer, writer, star-head of CBS.

Hi all :)

Yes the episode was sort of odd, for a second I felt like I wasn't watching CSI, but maybe it was all the Warrick, and him acting wierd from all the drugs.

and Nick did seem scared when he confronted Warrick, though I think it was becouse he was afraid Warrick would do somthing regretible, and once it eased off, he knew Warrick wouldn't hit him, which secretly i wanted to happen, not becouse I wanted nick to get hit, becouse I'm wierd and i like action, and I wanted somthing more, not just what happened *don't throw things at me :)*

and yes Nick walking down the hall was nice :)

Golly Jacquie I hadn't really noticed that. I don't mean it's not true, I just mean that I wasn't paying enough attention to notice! I hate to say it, but that kind of thing happens when people are getting lazy - maybe the writers were preoccupied with the upcoming strike - because I would really hate to think anything but the best of the CSI writers. Plus, I think we are all used to Nicky finding the key piece of evidence or putting things together in his special Nicky way. Maybe they're passing the torch onto Greg so that NIcky can become more "supervisor-like."

^As I said before, more Nick on camera is a good thing.

I can't say much right now due to time restrictions but GE was pretty damn good tonight. He does bring good things to light!

Oh GE was good last night. Nick got the last line just before the credits started, always good in my opinion :) After the opening credits it looked touch and go there for a bit. It looked like Catherine was going to be taking over for our guy :( but everything worked out in the end. With GE being an animal owner it must have been hard to do some of those scenes. I found the dog fight scene bothersome. It almost looked like Nick wanted to take some of those dogs home. GE looked super hot in that sweater shirt combo he was wearing. It looked like it might have been cool when they filmed that. Only one more new episode to go and then who knows :(

Whoa! Gotta agree. In terms of Nick-goodness I think this episode was the best so far this season. Nick was amazing. Lots of great scenes. I know that Greg found the key piece of evidence (the fingerprint) but the following interrogation scene with the kid was just fantastic - totally classic Nick. Nick seemed pretty upset/disgusted with the whole dog fighting thing. Gosh, I could go on and on - every Nick scene was so good.
