George/Nick: Texan Charm #11

You know, the Nick and Catherine talk makes me remember this little story from TV Guide. Especially ...

Nick, who was shot in the finale, has some healing of his own to do, Eads says. "He didn't come out of that battle as bad as Langston did, but he has some residual effects of trauma that he's been through," he says. "We'll see over the progression of a few episodes, him having to come to terms. After every shooting you're supposed to go see a shrink. That's something that's very un-Nick to do."

Nick's physical wounds healed rather quickly, but his mental wounds are more severe," Eads says. "With what I'm playing this year, it's not that Nick has a death wish, but you'll see, especially after his initial meltdown in the premiere, a whole different character come out of him. If Nick was Bruce Wayne last year, this year he's Batman."

Gaaaaa! Nice little video, Speedy! Thanks!

Wasn't sure if I should mention that bit from TV Guide. :) It's not too bad, but a tad spoilerish.

Sorry if it's spoilerish. I didn't really consider it spoilerish because we talked about it back when Shock Waves aired.

OK all you Canadians -

Someone from CTV (Tyrone?) was talking to George (and others) today in Beverly Hills. Hopefully there will be something in print for us. :) His first comment about George after it -

George Eads was very cool, very Texan and was surprisingly frank about experiencing "CSI" burnout

After all these years living in LA one of the first things someone says about him is "very Texan". I've read old interviews where they say the same thing.

International press tour in Beverly Hills:

The CTV.ca-Insider

the usually press-shy stars of CSI came out to chat with the international press about their series and how they think things are going.

who originally stopped doing press when his father suggested that it made him too angry, was warm and open and the very picture of a Southern gentlemen when he sat down with our table.
No wonder we could go forever without seeing much of anything from him. But I never really considered the whole cast 'press-shy'.

Eads was also forthcoming with experiencing “burnout” after being on the series for so long, but found inspiration to keep going from his new CSI co-star Laurence Fishburne.
Wonder if that's what was up with him signing so late. :(

Probably. This is just my crazy theory:), but I've been thinking that George was talked into doing just one more season and he's going to leave the show by the end of season too. But I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks blackflag

I love the 'Southern Gentlemen' comment :adore:

Dad comes through again. It never fails me but Parents do know what's best for their children no matter how old they are :) It's frustrating though when you realize that if some of the press weren't so damn intrusive then George might be willing to do more interviews. Thanks George for doing the interviews that you do do :)

I wouldn't doubt it. This may explain why Nick and Langston are working a lot of cases so far this year. Maybe LF wanted the chance to work more closely with George. Maybe LF sees potential in George for big screen movies :)

I'm also sure the burn out may have been a result of the back injury, surgery and recovery.

Thanks for posting that, Blackflag. :) It's so rare that we get much from George, but I'm actually glad he doesn't get out there too much. I think it's good for celebrities to be able to have more time to themselves and kind of a "real" life. And again, I'm really glad he doesn't do FB or Twitter. Good to know that he will "speak" through Dustin tho if he has anything to say.

I would hate for him to leave the show before it's over, but I have a feeling with Marg leaving and everything else that's going on, it would take a radical change in the show for him to stay. Like maybe having him and Ray be in charge or something? Since he likes working with him.

Who knows?? CBS may just chuck the whole thing if Marg leaves and then if George is having doubts. I would miss Nick terribly, but I would hope George could find something else to do that would would create just as great a character for us to love. :)

Thanks for posting this, blackflag :)

Isn't it cool that everyone who ever talked to George or worked with him says that he is nice, easy going and great to chat with? I also like that they call him a gentleman :adore:

I'm sure George was having doubts on doing another season, since he signed up the contract for this season very, very late. But I'm so glad he is still on the show :D Maybe he would consider another season when Marg leaves and he will be new supervisor on Grave? Maybe it is part of his new contract to give him more storylines to work with... so George gets a new motivation. I still hope he stays till the end of CSI and I hope that we'll at least get to see him as the new supervisor :D

Thanks for posting, Blackflag!

I can see why George would get angry. Everytime he does press there are certain 'people' who tear him apart, twist everything he says, and assume him of things without proof. I'd get angry too.

I have a sneakin' feeling that this might be George's last season. :( I hope not, but recent events could lead you to that conclusion)

Of course, this could mean bigger and better things for Nicky. ;)

But something's brewing. He's pulling his gun a lot (which I'm sure George loves ), shaved head, won't go to therapy to talk about his feelings, andhe seems to be becoming a work-a-holic which this photo shows. Look at how many cases Nick has solved compared to Catherine and whoever the heck Joe is :wtf:.

Forgive me, Smokey and DJ. The picture went with the post and no George/Nick in it. :D *runs to hide*

 It's okay. It was to make a point. And it's little. ;) So do we think all the ones in the left-hand column are Nick's too? Or did they just white out Warrick's name from the old board?

I agree with what you said about things he says getting twisted. Some fans of other actors take things wayyyy too seriously.

I don't think the board's changed at all since the pilot, except for whiting out Warrick and Sara.

"George Eads was very cool, very Texan" :adore:

Can someone clear something up?

When George stopped doing press at the suggestion of his father, was it because the press was making him mad or his father.

Thanks.

It is confusing the way it reads, but it says that his father "suggested it made him too angry". The word "suggested" sounds like he was suggesting it about George to George. And the fact that the writer makes clear how kind George was during the interview sounds like that is meant to be in contrast to George being angry.

So yeah...that's a long way of saying, I think it meant George.

Interesting tho how in this article he says he doesn't think Nick should become involved with anyone, and in others that have been quoted it sounded like he thought it was a good idea.

So checking out the article's writer Tyrone something or another  he responds to someone who must have asked him about George's anger about the press.

This was his response:

I think he doesn't like the negative things people say on the internet, and I think that gets him worked up

And it's a shame that these 'people' (just trying to be nice here) are so negative towards him because of 'perceived' notions and ruining their fantasies.

And those who will quote everything I've posted here.

George, forget them, they DON'T matter and all their hurtful stuff. What goes around comes around. ;)

We love you.

Tyrone mentioned something, on his Twitter page, about posting George's song playlist on a video blog. Does anyone know if he did?
